I need someone to take mine down without a boom truck using a gin pole... I am in Northern Indiana...

26 years in construction, with civil engineering background, and a GC for the past 8 years….there was a lot of things going on in this video that raise some concerns. This can become an even bigger issue since many will watch this video and assume that all the install was professionally completed. Scary stuff.

I was going to request a quote as I’m ready to order a 60’ tower from American Tower until I saw this video.

Since the tower is tapered, I have a 60ft I am about to install, using a 24" level, how much should I add to the top part of the level when leveling?

When I installed my 48' DMXHD in 1995 I installed the 8' section and the legs in the concrete and then lifted the 40' section in 1 piece with a Boom Truck.

You put the bolts on backwards......................................Nutz.

Were can i find a build plan diy for a portable stacom antenna? I understand that you can not share the original company designed plans, but can you help me find information for a similar type(or older model)? Thank you in advance, kind regards.

Good video. :) However, one comment I'll make on the way you used the Gin Pole... what you did there can work fine for the 32' tower, but on a taller tower, the impact of pulling the rope at an angle will increase with every section - and there will be more and more 'sideways' pull on the Gin Pole. To avoid this, you should install a second pulley at the base of the tower, so that the rope goes from the new section being lifted up the tower to the Gin Pole, and then directly back down the tower to the pulley at the base, and then horizontally out to the lifting person. That keeps all the force straight up/down to the base pulley, and none of the force is pulling on the tower or the Gin Pole sideways. Again, that'll not be a big issue at a 32' or shorter tower anyway, but if this was a 56' or 64' tower, the sideways pull on the top of the Gin Pole could put you in a dangerous situation.
