cool old bridge
Couple of slight errors: Ruggle’s and Olive Morse originally from Maine. True they lived in New Orleans, you are correct. Thanks for doing this video
@cynthiamacdonald3880 thanks for your comment, and insight!

"Walisia" was actually the name of the subdivision or area on the south shore of Delavan Lake. Wright designed a "Wallisia" sign. Wallis had both a hardware company in Chicago and a land sales business on Delavan Lake. When Fred B. Jones purchased the 10 parcels that make up "Penwern," the Fred B. Jones summer estate, one of the five summer "cottages" that Wright designed on the lake between 1900-1905, he bought most of them from Wallis. The property with this gatehouse had a Wallis residence not designed by Wright, and a boathouse which Wright designed. The latter was demolished decades ago.
@markhertzberg4057 thank you for sharing your knowledge! Penwern is my favorite property on the lake. Always like learning more about the history of the area and architecture. Thanks!
God, thank you for deliverance from evil and from wickedness. Thank you for healing from perverseness and from frowardness and from hatred and hateful ness and unkindness and enviousness. God, I am praying for the end of enviousness. I am praying for the end of jealousies. Past, present and future. God, thank you for being in between parents and teachers and parents in love; whom we gain by marriage. Thank you for healing and building up all of those old waste places and for getting us home to our home on earth where we await your coming. Past, present and future and for eternity in Jesus mighty name. Amen 🙏 🤍
This one reminds me of the tree in the Garden of Eden
It does have that wisdom fruit
Another great tour!
@@snackaryallen thank you my friend
Henry Wallis, an Oak Park IL realtor, owned a tract of land on the south shore of Delavan Lake. In 1900 Frank Lloyd Wright designed a summer "cottage" which was built for Wallis there. Wallis subsequently led others to the lake and sold them subdivided lots, on which several more Wright-designed summer houses were built, between 1900 and 1905. Alterations to the Wallis house, not by Wright, were subsequently carried out for a subsequent owner named Goodsmith. William Allin Storrer, chronicler of Wright's work, wrote that a gatehouse was built for the Wallis residence: "The gatehouse may have been designed by Wright, but no plans, correspondence, or other documents are known that could verify this possibility." Is this property that gatehouse ? Students of Wright's work would not recognize this as a Wright design, with its steep gabled roofs, arbitrary half-timbering, conventional interior arrangements and details. While the Wright archive contains three drawings for a "Gatehouse Sign," two of them containing the word Wallisia, the sign project is marked "unbuilt." There are no drawings for a gatehouse. Even if built unsupervised by the architect (as was the Wallis cottage), it's hard to see Wright's hand in this very vertical design.
This is not the gatehouse to the Wallis-GoodSmith House (the GoodSmith brothers, not Goldsmith). That house, Wright's Wallis Scheme 2, is maybe a half mile west of this gatehouse. It is not certain that Wright designed this gatehouse, though he may have done alterations to it. It is a bit reminiscent of the second incarnation of the Nathan Moore House in Oak Park
@@markhertzberg4057 Goodsmith, not GoodSmith ? Masterpiece ? "A-frame cottage" Oy . . .
@@stephenritchings8135 It is GoodSmith. The Goodsmiths were not getting their mail easily during the California Gold Rush so they capitalized the "S" to make it more unique for that person. I did not call it a "masterpiece."
@@markhertzberg4057 Thank you for that---W A S missed that one, last I looked. No---our whispering narrator called it a Frank Lloyd Wright Masterpiece, and a Treasure. Puffery makes my teeth ache.
@stephenritchings8135 thanks for the comment! Appreciate all the extra knowledge you have on FLW properties in the area

Are these comics youre recording the beginning of the Sonic saga?
@pattyputtz yeah! It's from the Archie Comic series which would go on to become the longest running video game comic book series of all time. I'm hoping to eventually do every issue, but it will take years
