Sorry, but you're not doing it right and using the wrong tool. You could have it easier. But the end result looks great.
Why do you drive the driver into the wood on the lathe? Use a table but never the bench.

Hello Alexander. I am interested in purchasing this lathe. my plan is to use this lathe for turning outboards for big diameters. would you recommend this lathe to buy? does it have enough power to turnbig diameters stuff?

It is better to use a wooden mallet to drive in the spur. Using a steel hammer will tend to mushroom the metal at the opposite end of the spur over time.

Seeing no eye protection was used, I cringed.
Gorgeous bowl! Negative rake carbide cutters are your friend, especially when making it round for the first time, way less chipping.
