Thanks so much for making videos such as this. I’m fascinated by underground cave networks but I’m very claustrophobic and this video is a way for me to enjoy vicariously something that I’d never be able to do myself. I also have poor eyesight relative to most other people which would also be a show stopper so thank you for allowing people such as myself experience these marvels of our beautiful countryside.

Such a shame that the new farm owner is not currently allowing access to the caves in this area. I understand that there might be ongoing negotiations regarding this and that the owner is concerned about cars blocking the lane. From what I've seen, the farmyard area itself has ample space for a good few cars if necessary. He might also be missing a trick here, in that probably all visitors would be willing to pay a £1 in order to park and have access to the caves, just like the situation at Alum Pot and Long Churn, just across the valley at Selside. I struggle to estimate how many visitors they might get per year? 500? 1000? What Yorkshire farmer would pass up on that free cash per annum? (Joke). Most cave visitors are outdoor people also, who respect the land and would do their utmost to follow any guidelines and visit with the courtesy required. I hope that the owners reconsider soon and allow access again to these wonderful and historic caves.

Thank you for sharing this! As a huge Vanaheim fan some thousands of kilometers too far away to see them live in person, this is the closest to the real thing I can get, and this video captures their energy so well with great quality.

Descended to the bottom of Sunset Hole in 1960 when I was 16 .Used an electron ladder for final 50ft.pitch.On way back up I sliced my finger to the bone on a sharp rock on the side of the pot.Ended up in doctor,s surgery in Ingleton for stitching
