People are complaining about Tifa getting a kiss on her optional date and Aerith just holding hands, but wait ! Holding hands is literally meaningful, symbolic, (songs : Hollow, nptk), much more than a kiss, you could extrapolate to : it’s the whole plot ! In the original game, I didn’t ship Cloud with anyone because I just didn’t feel it. But in remake and rebirth, I ship Clerith so hard. They did an amazing job with all the characters in these games. I definitely feel the chemistry this time around. Zack can still join them if he wants, though lol

Aerith actually guided Cloud through his dark moments. She fixed his mind too at the end of the church date. We all know what is under the flower bed in the church. She pushed him down through it. Cloud's mom was right. Too bad that Sephiroth got jealous and agreed to disagree. And yeah, they behaved as couple so naturally that the whole Wall Market bought into it.

Not to burst any bubbles but back in 97 clouds insanity was considered a major plot twist. I dont think he saved her and i dont think there are alternate worlds. I think this is all in Cloud's mind and a symptom of his PTSD. The devs are fooling people so the twist hits again. Shes gone, but in his heart she and Zack live on and continue to give him strength when he needs it.

The last part where she's an illusion is unbearable to watch.

The whispers should been interfering every second anything or anyone got in the way of their relationship.

SPOILERS: As much as I enjoy Cloud and Tifa moments (especially disc 2 & 3 in the original) playing both the OG and remake just makes Cloud and Aeriths relationship even more lovely and sad at the same time he literally accepts her dates as a payment i feel like that says a lot about their relationship 😭 she is able to make him open up, which in turn makes him able to actually care about his other relationships (not saying he didnt care about them before, he was just still cold and distant from them. so i mean he was improving himself when talking with Tifa and Barret) even in the advent children movie, he still has that remaining guilt over Aerith (plus zack) he never stops thinking about her. i think loving Aerith and realizing he did is what truly made him able to also embrace and understand his love for Tifa as well. Tifa of course is his childhood friend… but Aerith is someone who will forever be engraved in his heart (from dirge of ceberus manual)
