      oh my! this is when experience really helps. be su[per gentle when installing the second hand. i have messed up a few times, but i was lucky i didnt break the movement. just keep trying and dont give up! get a jeweler watch magnifier. that would help with the second hand installation.

    I built this. When I pressed the stopwatch hand down into place it would glide three seconds back and end up unaligned with 12. No matter how many times I lined it up perfectly. It seems like the reser position was stuck in the wrong position.

      hey there! you should! and dont be afraid, i'm sure with enough research online, you will be able to do it. and yes, 36mm diameter case is available. and the dial would fit just fine. if you noticed, both 36,mm and 39mm diameter case both fits a 28.5mm dial. so it will work! go for it!

    Thanks for showing the mistakes. We all make them. I'm researching as much as I can before I attempt my first build and this is very helpful. Was the chapter ring already installed in the case you bought?

    • @arthur-loh
      @arthur-loh 2 місяці тому

      Yes, that's very wise of you. But don't be worried. Just got for it. You are gonna managed it just fine! Actually I don't install any chapter rings in this build. For chapter ring, I would recommend you to look for a case that already has the chapter ring install. that would be way easier. But if you want to customise the chapter ring, you will need to have the watch glass/crystal press tool. because if not mistaken, you will need to install the chapter ring from the front, instead of the back of the watch. which means you will need to remove the watch glass/crystal to install the ring, before pressing the glass into the watch again. Hope this helps!

    You did every thing so well and in the end in my opinion is where you have made the real mistake.. taking the finger covers off and touching the gasket.. leading to potential dust particles entering the movement and the inside of the case.. • @arthur-loh
      @arthur-loh 3 місяці тому

      hey thanks for the comment. Yes you are right. so what we will always do is to keep turning the crown until the date just jumps (to the next day). that way we will know the time is exactly at the 00:00 mark. we then install the hour and minute hand exactly at 00:00 mark. this only applies if you are building a date time watch. if you dial doesn't show the date. you can ignore this step and install the minute and hour hand wherever you like.
