thanks for the vid ,, is the link for the chain correct?
Hello im curious. how is the weight compared to the original? thank you!
Hey, first of all thank you for making this video it was quite helpful. I just had a quick question, at 1:23 you're adjusting the time to midnight although you dont have any hands on the watch yet, how do you know its midnight because idk why but i dont see any thing moving?😅
Hello Arthur, good build as always! Do you have discord?
How to know if mine came lubricated or not?
are you referring to the movement?
Wearing mine right now. I’m SUPER SURPISE WITH THE PRECISION!! +2 to +4 secs per day. An looks stunning. Ordered the black version
Glad to hear you're enjoying it! 🔥
Sks diverse star watch 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Orange is my favourite color, and this watch was just incredible! If you dont mind, how much did all the parts cost, and where does one buy parts?
Hi! thank you so much for the kind works. I'm glad you liked it. I spent roughly 100 USD for the parts. One can buy parts from AliExpress. Feel free to buy the exact same parts I used from this video, from the AliExpress affiliated link in the video description. That also supports the channel! Thanks a bunch!
What a beauty!
Thank you! Appreciate it!
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
23:32 It is still very long
Hi! great spot! yes indeed the stem was too long. i eventually removed it and recutting the stem to make it fit better.
Is there any trick to clipping the stem? I see you using the sandpaper, is the entire stem threaded so it can screw into the crown?
No trick, I don't sand and never had a problem. Once you do your first 2-3 watches it becomes really simple. I don't measure it, just do it by eye, always cut smaller than you think and you won't have any problem. The hardest part is setting hands.
I think the only trick on cutting the stem is always cut lesser than the measurement. so you can slowly work your way up. And yes, i do prefer sanding the stem tip down to make the screwing of crown a little bit easier. but it's entirely optional if you are able to screw the crown on. One benefit of using sand paper is you can prevent accidentally cutting the stem to much on your 2nd or 3rd cut. when you need more precision on the amount of stem to be removed. Hope this helps!
Yes. Great tip! i totally agree on cutting it lesser to begin with.
How do I adjust the time and stuff as when I put mine in the case and twist the stem the time changes
Hi! sorry what do you mean? i'm afraid i can't get you. have you tried pulling out and pushing in of the stem to change the time and also the quick change date?
@ once I have put the watch hands on and placed it on the movements then in the case I removed original stem and put mine in and sealed it now how do I change the time since mine is some sort of screw in
The watch hands are in the wrong position
Hey! yes you are right. i only noticed this after i completed the build. and yes, i have to reset the hands
Hello, nice work! You don't put gaskets on the crown stem?
Hi! great question. no, i dont put any gasket on the crown stem.
lol, if the patent expired, then it's not a blatant act anymore, where's the shame?
Hey! you are absolutely right! the patent indeed expired and there's absolutely no shame about it. In fact, it's a huge win for us as consumers (watch builder/lover). because it means we are getting a cheaper alternative. Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no problem with them copying the ETA movement. Cheers!
Exactly!!
you did not show how you made a thread for new stem head after cutting the stem.
Hi! thanks for the comment. sorry, may i ask a clarifying question? what do you mean by making a new thread for the stem?
The threads go all the way to the first shoulder, so there is plenty of threads to screw crown on after cutting to length.
Can you try a build using a quartz movement
I would love to see that too
Great suggestion! Yes i absolutely will! stay tuned for it!
that's amazing to hear! i will definitely build a quartz watch. stay tuned!
love the idea that you are using various movement in this channel! so much thing to learn!
Thanks! I'm always trying to explore different options. Glad to know you enjoyed it!
Very nice! Love your choice of parts/design!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
1 minute off no way i could live with that
Haha! I admire your passion for perfection. By all means you can keep setting the hands to get the perfect date jump. Go for it!
the case and the hands are the same link as well
Hi thanks for the heads up. I've updated the link. try the new link in the description!
is the dial the correct link? I've been looking for a dial like that but it is giving me page cannot be found. Since you posted this 2 days ago I'm going to assume it's not sold out yet.
Hey! thanks for the shout. I've updated the link. can you try this new link and let me know if it works :) Dial: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oES16ON Hands: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oBJMXCd
@@arthur-loh thank you... I didn't realize this was an NH35 instead of NH36 dial until just now. Thanks!
Hi, do you have a link of the tool you used to cut the stem?
Hi! yes you can look for any general wire cutter from your local hardware stores. that will do. Alternatively, you can buy it using my link to support my channel too! s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oo2MBB3 hope it helps!
Couples watch build - what an amazing idea!
Thank you! hope you enjoyed the build. stay tuned for part 2, where I build the gent watch!
How many mm should the dial have?
The case is 40mm in diameter. which fits a dial diameter of 29.8mm.
how come the link for the Seiko face does not work. Not just this videos, but other watch builder's links that have Seiko watch faces don't work either. Did Aliexpress remove Seiko faces from their web site?
Hey thanks for the heads up. Try this link instead: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oEZDdBb Yes indeed. Aliexpress will do sometimes do these and deactivate some links. Hope this helps
Because it's a copyrighted logo, look for listings that say "s-logo" this is their word for seiko logo, the images won't show the logo but it should come with it
good work for your first one, the stem is still a tad to long, the crown should screw all the way shut.
You're right, I noticed that too, I'm still learning the tricks of the trade!
I made my watch and it randomly stops ticking sometimes, not sure why
i'm sorry to hear that. can you describe more in detail what exactly are you facing? what movement are you using for the build? is the movement properly winded? and does it stops ticking randomly when it's inside or outside of the case? let me know. hope i can help. thanks
Great video man what is the blue stuff called that you use to put the hands on?
Hi I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The blue stuff is called "Rodico". It's a blue tac-like object. hope this helps.
People saying this is "ORIGINAL" or "AUTHENTIC" with just modifications deserves a hard slap on their cheeks
Nice tutorial. The link to the dial is not working unfortunately.
Thanks for the heads up! Here the updated link: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oC9Ze3N
Did gasket seal arrive with the case
Hi! yes, the gasket seal O-ring comes with the case.
What watch case size should I do for my first build for myself i have a 7inch wrist and am 6ft
Hi great question. I recommend checking out a video done by Teddy. He explained different elements to take note when choosing the right watch size for your wrist. ua-cam.com/video/m8uSMlZfj1I/v-deo.html Hope this helps!
Hi, perhaps if you can describe the problem you are facing in more detail, maybe i can help you out. Cheers!
Hey, can I use the nh35 movement instead of the nh36?
Hi. Yes, you definitely can. All NH movements share the same dimension. Hence, watch cases built for NH36 can definitely be used on NH35 movement.
Looks beautiful but I noticed that the bracelets feel very cheap. Is there any alternative that has better quality?
Hi! yes the bracelet is indeed a bit loose. Perhaps there's a better-quality bracelet with higher price.
Does the watch turn your wrist green?
No, the watch doesn't turn my wrist green. sorry.
Dude….get a soft mat for your work! Please. Lovely build. Well done.
Thanks for the tip! I'll get one soon.
Hi Arthur! Another nice build, congrats! Always like watching your videos. If you care for some constructive criticism: next time building a dateless you might consider the NH38 instead. It's a true no date movement, so there won't be a "ghost" middle crown position (quick set date that you don't see on dial). The price point is similar to NH35. Just saying... ;-)
Hi! thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it! I will definitely take note on this moving forward. Thank you!
Does it matter what diameter size I use for the o-ring??
Yes, i would recommend using an O-ring that fits the case for proper water proofing.
Amazing video! What is the rough cost of each of your seiko mod, and are the watch parts you buy from aliexpress good quality?
Hey! thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I spent roughly 50 - 60+ USD just on the watch parts. to include all the tools needed for the build. My rough estimate was somewhere less than 100 USD. Good thing is you only need to buy the tools once and you are set for life! Watch out for seasonal promotions though. You might save more from there! And yes, the parts from AliExpress are surprisingly good, to be honest. The case and bracelet have good weight, and the movement is accurate. Overall, my personal experience with AliExpress has been rather pleasant. Hope this helps!
Thank you for the active response, will be trying a build with your guide! :) P/s: let me know if you have built a nautilus and have a video on it 😁
amazing tutorial for a tricky watch build!!!!!!
Thanks! Glad you found it useful!
What colour is the strap?
Hi! the strap color is black.
I want to make a Daytona with Paul Newman dial mod.I have found a 30mm dial but every vk63 Daytona case I find it says that it fits 29-29,5mm dial. Will a 0.50mm bigger dial be a problem? Thank you for the video Great Tutorial
Hi! thanks for the great question. it's hard to tell. it really depends on how versatile the case is. some they allow 0.5mm tolerance in terms of the dial diameter measurements. But i would advise you asking the dial seller directly. perhaps sending the case's link to the dial seller and ask them to verify and confirm it they fit. hope this helps!
Hey, thanks for the tutorial, watched it 3 times before I built my first VK63 Daytona Panda. It's my first time venturing outside of NH movements and my only issue was getting the crown stem back out of the movement and none of my movement holders fit. The entire build took me 45 minutes. I was noticing the lack of quality on the parts I was using. Compared to all the other Rolex and Seiko based mods I made this one feels "tinny" to me. Maybe it's the size of the case and the fixed bezel since I make a lot of Sea Dweller and Samurai mods. In any case, the video is top notch and your accent made it super cool.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the build, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Excellent build! Thank you
Thanks! Glad you like it!
what size is the strap 20 21 or 22
the strap size is 20mm
This is another watch I’m going to build soon 🎉 so nice really thank you put all the link in the description if not I won’t be able to find everything !!!
Glad you like it! All the links for the parts are in the video description! Good luck with the build!
Very detail video !!! I have bought the part from ur links it’s really work ! I build my first watch ❤
Glad to hear it worked out for you! Great job on your first watch!
