Became world champion early - After a long break from training, a lingering eye injury and the terrible loss of his 34-year-old friend Jaroslav Diro at the World Cup race in Slovakia in June, Werner originally no longer wanted to compete for gold.
After two days of racing it is clear that Werner Müller will take the world championship title in the Open Senior class with two race victories and has thus achieved his goal. After bronze in 2022 and silver in 2019, Werner Müller is the first Austrian to win early gold at the Enduro Grand Prix in the World Cup in the OpenS class. This means that nothing stands in the way of the journey home, because the Enduro Lion no longer has to complete the last two runs in St. Andre/Santiago do Cacem (Portugal).
