CAL OLLERHEAD - SNOWBIRD BIKER
Canada
Приєднався 17 лис 2011
Hi, I'm Cal and I'm known as a Canadian Snowbird. Our Nova Scotia summers are great, but I’m not a fan of our winters, so like all Snowbirds, I head south. So I'm on two wheels for all four seasons. I love to ride and my videos will introduce you to some great riding roads.
I also like old trucks, hiking and motorcycle camping and will devote some videos to my Li'l Red Express Truck, hiking trails and campgrounds that I enjoy, as well as discussions on camping gear that I have used.

A Visit To Solomon's Castle, Ona, Florida
Переглядів 2637 місяців тому
Howard Solomon arrived in Ona, Florida as a young man in 1972. He had many talents. He was an artist, a welder, a builder, and most of all, a dreamer. Over his lifetime he built a 12,000 castle in the Florida outback. In this video I try to tell a little about Howard and his creation. #supportmvc #motovlog #motovlogger

Riding To Florida - Part Four. I've Arrived - PLUS a Quick Update
Nice video and nice tent, Cal! I might get one of those to finish my trip this coming year.
Thanks Bill. It’s a great tent. I’m sure you will enjoy using it. Cheers.
Great to see you back, Have you read any reviews on that tent?
It has mixed reviews. It’s the least expensive of this type. I’ve only set it up this one time so I don’t know if it is waterproof or how durable it will be. So far I like it. Thanks for watching and commenting. I probably won’t be able to do more riding or camping videos for a while, since our season is coming to an end here in Nova Scotia. I’ll probably head south after Christmas to do some riding. Cheers!!
like 28 🎉 congratulation for the video I'm watching you from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thank you!!
@@SNOWBIRDBIKER my pleasure my friend and thank you for your attention 👏
I just got this tent today. Quite heavy, but for the space it give it's worth it. It's the cheapest tent with motorcycle garage i could find. Excited to try it soon! 😄
I’ve only used it once, but so far I really like it. I don’t plan to put my motorcycle in the garage. Instead I’ll use it to provide extra space for me and my gear. But whatever it’s used for, it’s nice to have. Good luck with your tent. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@SNOWBIRDBIKER I often camp by the beach, so I need space for my motorcycle at least for the night because I’m worried it might rust if exposed to the salty sea breeze for too long. 😂
@herifury1302 That’s a good reason to keep it protected.
looking great, I'm so looking for one.
Thank you!!
Sweet setup! I hope to purchase an adventure bike and gear in the near future. Been wanting to for a long time. Would you mind sharing where you purchased the wine bottle and glass? Thanks and safe riding!
Thanks for watching. I purchased both on Amazon. There are several options for the stainless steel wine bottle. The nesting wine glass is from GSI Outdoors, also available on Amazon. a.co/d/dL6681n
That tent should be little warmer being two tents in one.
@@timbutland6276 it’s a great tent. I took two down filled bags with me. But I just needed one. It was rated for -1.
That's a pretty elaborate setup. Probably be a great tent for spending time in an area. Good to see you back.
Hey John, good to hear from you. Yes, it's been a few months since my last video. Seems that my Sena Evo 10C is not producing good video. Time to upgrade. I guess I'll get an Insta360 x4. It would be great to get together for a chat. Give me a call when you're free, to meet for a coffee. Cheers
Great video Cal - Excellent job putting up that new tent (without any instructions)! What a beautiful National Park to camp in too! 6' tall and comfortable, amazing room in your new tent Cal. Thoroughly enjoyed your new "house" in the woods! Keep 'em coming Sir! 🏍🏕
Thanks Rick. Kejimkujik is a beautiful park. It has excellent hiking trails, canoeing and kayaking. It also has a lot of history of our native people. I really like the tent. It packs small enough to take on a bike, and is large enough to provide comfortable accommodations for multi day trips. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
@@SNOWBIRDBIKER You are most welcome, love that area on your video Cal! I will have to go check it out come Spring next year indeed!
Good to see you back.
Thank you. It feels good to be back. I've been camping, riding, etc. However, I needed a break from UA-cam. After watching the riding portion of my video I realized that I desperately need a new camera. Definitely time to upgrade. Hopefully future videos will be of better quality.
Nice! Where did you get the 117 plate on the air cleaner from?
Thanks for commenting. I bought a take off CVO air cleaner on EBay. It had the 117 plate on it.
@@SNOWBIRDBIKER thx:)
I have Ohlins shocks for the front and back to be put in. After putting in the front shocks can I run a 21 inch front tire? And yes I’m going to change the back tire to a 18 inch
I really cant comment on that. It would depend on your clearance and factors other than the shocks. I have a friend who installed a 21 inch wheel on his Street Glide with Olins so it can be done. I’ve just never done it.
what is the name of the tool he is using with the silver handle at 10:25
Hi, The tool I am using is the pre load adjustment tool that was included with the shocks. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it.
Hi, just found your channel. Im originally from Dartmouth and moved out west to BC in 1977. I remember going on many drives with my parents along that road. I remember having road sickness due to the hills! Mom and Dad would always stop for coffee at Sunnyside on the way back. Nice memories for sure. I enjoyed your ride! Hopefully youve made more videos.
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for commenting.
Would these fit if using the Harley Mustache engine gaurd ?
Nice video. Are you allowed to fish under the bridge?
Sorry, I don’t know the fishing regulations in the area. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Is there a parts list anywhere? I have a 23 Low Rider ST and would like to do the same. Any help greatly appreciated.
I wasn’t able to post it here but it’s on my Facebook page facebook.com/story.php?id=100064843898143&story_fbid=637149355123189
Thank you for taking the time to explain the adjustments.
Glad it was helpful!
My grandfather owns the Ark there! That was my Mother that you spoke with at the Cafe!!!! I am so glad that they are getting attention :) My mom strives off making people happy and just being an all around Joy. I hope you enjoyed your visit!!!
I really like you sharing.i have a 2022 FXLRST and I love it. I love the FXRT style tour pack. Can y ask where you got it?
Thank you for commenting. I got the tour pack from Nasty Hog. Here is a link to their website. nastyhog.com/products/ltp-legacy-tour-pack
Thank you for the video. I wasn’t quite sure what wrench I needed to remove the torx bolt on the strut. But I enjoyed the whole video.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for commenting.
This is a great place ,I lived here for awhile many years ago
Good for you.
Thanks so much for this. I did not about it, and am only 3 hours away. Will be sure to visit it in the very near future.
Just got my 24 Pan, should I worry or go back like you to a touring, thoughts??
I love my Pan America, however my trailer is setup with a Biker Bar transport system for my Road Glide. I live in Nova Scotia but trailered my Road Glide to Florida. They are very different bikes and I would not want to give up either. Congrats on the new Pan Am. I know you will love it!!
@@SNOWBIRDBIKER thank-you Sir, appreciate the advice 🙏
What happened to the Pan America??
It’s in my garage in Nova Scotia. I love that bike!!
Great video! Will a heel shifter work with the toe one on this setup?
I haven’t tried to install one. I'd check with HD to see if the shaft is long enough. Since new softails were designed for toe shift only.
Great video cheers from Tasmania
Did the install exactly how you did it and couldn't be more happier. I'm 6' and my hips were killing me with those mids. To me they were to high and to far back. It made a world of difference, thank you. Only problem I'm experiencing is with finding neutral with this new setup. Been up and down adjusting the shifter rod but it hasn't made much difference. Did you encounter the same problem?
OK, I’m going in… I ended up getting the Screaming Eagle Streetcannon with the removable baffle… I like the way the street cannons sits with the hard sport bags …anyway I revisited your video to brush up on the removal of the stock exhaust system so thanks again! And yeah, I still love your reaction when you fired that baby up😂… priceless!!
I didn’t know 2 brothers made an exhaust for the pan am. I know which one I’m getting now. 🙌🏼
Great video. One minor thing...never use a torque wrench to break bolts loose. You mess up the calibration and basically make your torque wrench useless.
Thank you for your comment. You are correct, I shouldn’t have. Fortunately, my torque wrench survived!!
Thank you for posting part numbers, Just found them on your FB link.
That looks like such a cool spot. I need to add that one to my gotta see list!
Nice video Cal, ride safe.
Thanks. It was great seeing you today. Hope to be back in the fall. Cheers
the guys that passed u ar on their way to their funeral
Sure makes me want to ride.
Awesome Video Snowbird, Hope to see you soon as the weather gets warmer here!!
Thanks. I plan to be back by mid April.
Put forward controls on my Street Bob. Best thing I could've done. Made the bike extremely comfortable !! Thx !
Yes, it’s a big improvement. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
Thanks for showing an Old Florida boy a new adventure. I've always made a right turn to Palatka and come back on 17. Can't wait to go left next weekend! I'm always willing to learn from my Yankee friends. Still working 50 hour weeks but would love to ride with you some time.
Really glad you enjoyed it. It's an enjoyable ride to an interesting destination.
Nice video. Enjoyed 👌
Thank you 👍
Great to see you on the road. 👍
Thank you.
Great job - thanks, how old are you if you don't mind ...?
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’m 76. I did that video a couple of years ago, so I was 74 at the time.
Hopfully I’ll see you up at Laconia 2024. God bless ya
Snowbird thanks again for your time and input on this. You are a gentleman putting these vids out
Thank you.
Thank you for this. Much appreciated.
Do u have more videos 😩
That’s a fantastic reaction!
Tide changes every 6 hours
Would it be possible to get a parts list, by chance? I'd really love to do this to my Lowrider St. Great video! Thank you! :)
I have not been able to post the list here, however I’ve posted a list on FB. Here’s a link: 📸 Look at this post on Facebook facebook.com/share/xWdapamHnFaNF1ry/?mibextid=QwDbR1
