How NOT to shoot in car.

The Snake, Mulholland. 2nd gear the entire time other than about 3 seconds.
Good job Mike Winslow, now on to the police academy shows 😳😊
RIP Chucky baby! You were special!
Michael Winslow 9:34 is the only man to ever appear on both America's Got Talent and The Gong Show.
The real deal
That trio, wow! I’d love to hear more of them.
What a treasure to watch this Gong Show!!! I loved the 70s!
1:49--A few notes of Artie Shaw's "Frenesi" on the trumpet.
Taped June 3, 1978 and aired in June 13, 1978
Judges: 1. Gary Male Deer 2. Michelle Lee 3. Pat McCormath
13:00 Didn't know Arte Johnson moonlighted as an NBC cameraman
So apparently they dubbed in the extra crowd noise during the taping. Interesting. That’s not the sound of the small studio audience.
Typical NBC audience sweetener and whistling. You heard it on every game show back in the day.
I love the Gong show 45 years ago its very funny
Caledonia took the show, by far, is she a female???
Yes, she is female. And she should have won the show. MW was fantastic, but Caldonia was a little better and more unique. Myself, (Art - opening act on this episode) and the other contestants all thought she would win. But MW was FANTASTIC! When Mike did his act, we (other contestants) were in the wings to the side of the stage and someone said, (when he made the guitar sound) "that guitar is real" and we all thought it was. It sounded so realistic. We couldn't see him and the sound in the studio was incredible.
@@lobbyest Oh wow, I’ll watch that again. Thanks!
@@lobbyest Hey, can you still perform that act, ha, how old were you than?
@@apocyldoomer I was 25, now 69. I still do a little bit of gymnastics as my 15 y.o. son is a gymnast and he's always challenging me. He wins every time.
@@lobbyest That’s cool, wow! Was Caledonia wearing a disguise ?
Thanks for posting this.
So cool to see a studio master of The Gong Show
Amazing👍
How could Chuck read the cue cards when his eyes were mostly covered?
He said that he wore those brimmed hats and caps low so that he couldn't see the audience, who distracted him mightily.
0:32 Beetle's fault 0:37 Beetle's fault 0:41 Beetle's fault 0:44 Beetle's fault 1:09 Beetle's fault 1:13 Beetle's fault (worst)
I haven't looked at the rest but :32 is my fault? Interested to hear your thinking as to how it is my fault getting hit from behind.
You do realize I am the Porsche right?
@@garretmaki2564 Lol ok. I just happened to count the times the Beetle was at fault. What a pathetic driver
@@nixxxon18 Not that I want to defend the guy but when this happened someone pointed out that I hit him in the final corner before the straight. I didn't realize it at the time but I did very lightly tap his rear end. Then I passed him in the straight (thanks to another driver hitting me from behind, giving me a boost) and left him only a cars width on the outside. I think it was all fair play but I am pretty sure that set him off.
11:12 Brian Johnson
Can you put episode seven on
Wow!!! What a gem! Fabulous quality too - thank you for posting!!
What shit
It's like the Muppet Show, but with humans!-JW
SIDE NOTE In 1975 CBS & NBC held there yearly dodgeball match for good causes and Chuck got a dodgeball RIGHT IN THE GONGS
Frosted Flakes - Their Grate!
If you grew up in the 70's, there's no way you don't remember The Gong Show. A lot of people came from this and made a name for themselves. Michael Winslow was one. He was famous before his brother Hall of Fame TE for the Chargers Kellen. What are the odds that 2 brothers get famous for 2 different occupations?
It was on reruns on USA NETWORK and local TV stations in the 80's a lot.
Wow! Michael Winslow at the age of 19! And he became a movie superstar!
Yes, even on the Cheech and Chong Up in smoke movie, at the welfare office.
Was Mark Stevens on the drums for this episode? Usually it was him.
yes.
0:07--Johnny Jacobs
Chuck was the BEST!!!!!
TIME MACHINE NEEDED LIFE WAS FUN BACK IN THE DAY NOTHING LEFT TODAY PEOPLE FORGOT HOW TO LAUGH DAM THE GONG SHOW WAS THE CLASSIC ERA OF THE 70s TV PEOPLE SEEM TO BE MORE HUMAN BACK IN THE DAY MORE LIFE FUN TIME MACHINE NEEDED RIGHT NOW THE LADIES GUEST J P MICHELE LEE WERE HOT FOR THE 70 ERA TODAY BOTH ARE STILL ALIVE MAN YOU SEE WHY YOU NEED A TIME MACHINE BEING YOUNG WILL NOT LAST FOREVER THATS THE SAD PART OF LIFE
This Tucker guy still uses a Telex machine.
Actor/comedian Michael Winslow, the man of 10,000 sound effects (Police Academy movie series, Spaceballs) is outrageously cool on The Gong Show.
When did this air if taped on June 4, 1978? The last daytime show was July 21st '78, right?
Exactly, jokerswildfan 1972!
This aired on 6/13/1978 -- 10 days after taping.
wow! michael winslow while still an unknown. you could see how polished he was already.
Great one, at the end everyones having fun
GO GET EM ARTHUR! -Milton Delugg
Air Date Tee-BAH
Here is some VERY obscure trivia. The song played on trumpet from 2:09-2:15 is titled "The Peanut Vendor".
Not too obscure. Stupid song was played by every jazzman since 1933. Now if you said the songwriter was a Cuban, THAT'S obscure trivia :-)
2023, I still play it on my gut string guitar. :)
Those band warm-ups were quite unique to listen to. Bill Neale lays down a guitar groove, and everybody else follows. I think that was Manny Stevens (father of the band’s drummer, Mark Stevens) playing the Peanut Vendor.
VERY nice quality from the master tape!!
The best performers were Grape Jelly with the song " I live in a yellow box" it was beautiful!!!!!! I grew up watching this and don't remember this episode!
This is close to the end of the NBC run, which was the 500th episode.
Subscribed! more gong show if you have it
What a terrific episode! Mike Winslow went on to costar in the Police Academy movies.
I laughed so hard at the last hit
