@everettbergeson343 Hey Everett, I think some of the bouldering gyms rent pads (at least they used to). So, worth checking with places like 9 Degrees. I suspect Sissy Crag will still be quite wet as it seeps for quite a while after heavy rain. So worth taking that into consideration as well 🙂 If you do decide to go check it out, have a plan b if its not dry.

The high heel I couldn't really see the placement, kinda just throw it up there. The lip I could see, or at least had a really easy feature to aim for. The trick is the moves are quite spanned out. Not sure what angle the wall is but I thinkk quite a bit steeper then it looks from the video.

Haha yeah, I can totally respect that. With a spotter it felt safe enough for my liking. This was a Covid lockdown crag for us, so were definitely making do with what we could :)

Thanks! It's not the first place I'd recommend in Sydney, although if you climb V8+ there are some very classic problems. The Frontline is probably the best crag to start in Sydney.

No heel hooks? :D Thankfully not every problem has a no heel hook rule, it's really only a small percentage. But it is fun to make problems more challenging.

Hmmm. Not a lot is close to the airport. Cape Banks might be your best bet. Not the best rock quality but a cool location.

First few moves are considered the crux. I actually don't find it too bad but I've done it a lot of times now 😆

Other people put the chalk on the holds. If it were up to me, it wouldn't be like that 😉

Haha. The stuff on the crag makes it more complicated then it should be. There are two versions: 1. V5 - start on lowest left and right hand. Climb up however you want. 2. V8 - also start on lowest left and right hand. You must use all right hand side pulls. The reason the V8 exists is because that was the beta the original FA used, so is there for anyone that wants to add a Lil extra challenge to it. Ignore all the other variants that stipulate which hand does what.

Hey, basically walked next to the sports field until the cricket nets, turned left into the bush and straight down towards the road (and you get close to the road). Once you find the top of the cliff line just need to find a scramble down from memory. I popped out near Eternal Hug.

I don't feel like I turned right at any point. I turned left into the bush and walked past / through the bmx track

@@PhillipBoothClimbs well I’m lost, sorry to be a pest. So you went to the cricket nets and turned left into the bush from there? Or you went to the cricket nets and went along the path (which veers right) then turned left into the crag. The crab website’s instructions are poorly written

How long did u walk once u turned into the bush to the crag?

I'm just going off the grade it's listed as 😊 It's all quite subjective in the end, so I'm personally not precious. Grades are just a rough idea to help us find things that will be the right kind of challenge.

Thanks! Super fun spot. It's been a while but I climb all over when I can. Best way to find people is at the gym. Chatting to people you'll find who goes outside. If you're new to outdoors go to one of the bigger crags with lots of stuff to start 🤙🏼
