My Non-Gardening Wife Got A REAL Dose Of What It's Like Out Here
Late summer here in Zone 10A in my urban organic garden is always a little bit brutal, as temperatures are always north of 90 degrees fahrenheit with no rain in sight for months. As such, even as things are producing perfectly fine, they tend to look a little decrepit, with some seedlings failing or just not liking the conditions.     I will give you a unique idea: If you make a shape square whit wood and in the top you put that same tarp and make a funnel shape then you make a hole in the center and put any screen material and the barrel in floor eventually when Rain will collect 99% more water vs what you are doing there....     My aunt grows blackberries, 2 types of tomato’s, cucumbers, eggplant, oregano and basil, and is staring carrots! But she wants some tips for starting growing midnight tomatoes? Any tips?

      @@Kenny-du7zv they’re pretty easy to grow, they’re just a little slow like other Romas (compared to cherry tomatoes)! The only tough part is knowing when to harvest, so you just need to inspect them and make sure they don’t have green pigment on the outside! If there’s a little bit of red they’re ready

    Orrr, if you don't plan on saving the seeds, just use male flowers from a cousin plant. On the flowers pollinated you should still get a loophah and everyone who ooohs and aaahs about your prolific growth of loophah never has to be told about this shameful incestuous relationship. However, if you save the seeds for next year, your family secret will be revealed.😮😮😊😊

      Something like the first one is classic, and I’d suggest thrifting two so you don’t overfill one and have it get too heavy!

    To all the comments about meat, it is 100 percent compostable. I don’t compost it personally, but if I lived on a larger lot or something where I could bury it deeply, pretty sure I would. Check out someone like Joel Salatin, who buries entire deceased cows, in large compost piles, and they compost just fine.

    Regarding the worm cast, have you noticed a difference in the plants? I use the worm cast, but I have not noticed any difference in the growth of the plants

      @@aliaaline9150 it’s hard to isolate the benefits because I use it with compost and other organic amendments, but it’s definitely good for the soil!

      Whenever I turn over a bed I add worm castings, great compost, homemade compost, and some sort of organic fertilizer!

    Glad to hear you liked them! I didn't find out about them until it was too late to buy them personally, but I'm excited to try and grow them next year! On a related note, have you heard about the firefly petunias? Now those are a really cool GMO.

    I think I experience cross pollination, I had a bell pepper growing on a Jalapeno plant..it definitely looked like a Bell pepper... people were asking me what kind of pepper plant was it...I couldn't explain why there was a Big Bell on a Jalapeno plant😊

      There’s also been a lot of “pepper gate” instances in the last few years where people have bought seeds they ended up being different than ordered. Odd time for peppers 😂

    Use bokashi style(not bokashi) two bucket system for home composting completely rodent free. I dont add coooked food or meat or dairy i get no foul smell

      @@gardenzaddy I don't have a open space I have terrace where I use pvc pipes on 6 in 4 feet pipe can accomodate 6 okra or eggplant plant when cuts are made vertically at even heights.

      Where do you have it planted? Good soil and somewhat regular watering is a good foundation, as well as pruning off any shoots from below the graft point (if it's grafted).
