I really like your blogs Sophie. Especially the ones in which you tell us your experience in Drama School. From what you told, I think you give an inspiring personal overview inside your acting training. You said you learned so many things in Drama school but I also think you learned about yourself. For me, Musical Theatre is my Passion and I can't think in other thing I would not feel myself. Thanks for all your advices. Wish you the best with your acting path. I really want to become an actor and go to drama school but I don't think I'll get in. Do you think it's a good idea to go to uni and join a drama society or should I just study drama at a normal uni? I don't have any experience in acting and I would like to do classes which I've booked already but I don't know if i have enough experience/technique to do an audition for this year so what do you think x ?

How much practical work did you get to do within the BA Drama course alone? Right now I'm trying to decide between going to Drama school or studying Spanish and Drama at University. Spanish is my backup plan, so a joint honours seems ideal and I have an offer to study it but I am very concerned about the practical side of it and if there are opportunities to meet casting directors ect

Hello! Thanks for the video. I’m thinking of auditioning for musical theatre courses next year and I was wondering whether I love play rehearsal from be more chill would be a good song choice? One of the place I want to audition at also asks for a golden age musical song and the only one I really vibe with is my right. Is that too much of a jump? I’ll be 22 by the time I audition if things go well

At the age of 23 what is the quickest way to start a career in acting and drama is there have any deploma program?? I'm from india and I have a graduation degree and continuing my masters in mathematics

I'm 31 and seriously considering going back to school because I know what I want. I was always seen as "The quiet and shy girl" and nobody ever believed I could act. I spent a year working as a teacher and it taught me that I'm definitely not quiet and when you're teaching, you're also sort of stepping into a different role. It was really empowering to see that I could do things even if others didn't believe me. So I've decided to go back to school and I'm applying to drama school. I've been involved in amateur dramatics and really enjoyed it. I may well not get into any schools, but I figured life is too short to second guess yourself.

I'm looking at the MA Acting programs at Central coming from the U.S. How did you find housing? Do most students go with campus housing or is it all apartments?

I haven't left drama school (I'm still to apply for a potential MA in Musical Theatre or Music Direction) but I relate so very hard to the emotions felt. At the end of last year I finished up as a full time chorister with a professional liturgical choir after three of the most AMAZING years I could have ever have hoped for and worked with two musicians I'd looked up to since I was five and never in a million years thought I'd ever be able to work with them as an adult but here we are. Glad to know I'm not the only one feeling like this even though it's been nearly a year since I finished up my time in the choir, sending you socially distant hugs and greetings from the land Down Under 😊

Keep uploading Sophie, you are doing a great job , and actually, i wanna go to Germany for studying Drama in the university, the issue is i don't speak german language, and i chose Germany because of the small tuition fees, do you think that i could make it to the U.S or the U.K after graduating??? Or they accept ony students who attended drama school???

Drama is my breathe, that is my dream... but my parents never understand me. They don't like it when i am doing subject of drama..now i am trying to reach their dream. Not mine.😢😢😢

Really solid advice! Great video. There are a lot of difficult people in the business, aggressive teachers, self centered classmates etc, and the temptation to complain might be strong...but as you said it doesn't make any sense, as the rumour will always go back to the person it is about. If we feel frustrated and want to complain we can always talk to our sister or best friend who are not in contact with the people in the school so we don't get involved in drama.

You have no idea how helpful this is for me!! I've always thought that drama school may not be quite right for me because I love doing side projects and working on different things. I'm actually starting at Uni of Exeter in 2 weeks and I can't believe that I've come across this video it's like fate hahaha. I took a gap year and did lots of film stuff and learnt to love directing as well as acting. I'm now super happy I chose Exeter because I have like 4 projects I'm planning to do soon too so I think it sounds perfect for me that theres only 11 hours a week. Because of Rona there may be even less too! Thanks again for this video!

Also just a note on Uni side of things, I go to Solent university for mt and it’s 24-30 hrs in first year then goes up by between 5-10 hrs as you progress through the years. 3hrs of your week is spent in lectures and seminars the rest is practical. So contact hrs does also vary extremely from Uni to uni. Hope this helps people. Such a fab and informative video xx
