      Thanks so much for The awesome comment and I’m glad that you appreciate the videos! Not to be a downer, but I had to take a short break as both of my dogs got very sick and unfortunately one passed away. They were both very old dogs and they have had a good life and one is still hanging in there ! I am back to creating episodes again and am excited to provide you more content! Here is what ICM means: ICM, or the Independent Chip Model, is a crucial concept in tournament poker. It calculates the monetary value of a player's chip stack by considering their chances of finishing in various payout positions. Unlike cash games, where chips have a fixed value, ICM helps players make strategic decisions by assessing the risk versus reward of each move based on potential prize money, rather than just chip accumulation. Understanding ICM is essential for maximizing profits in tournaments, especially as you approach the initial money bubble and as you approach and play at the final table. This is because as money starts to take affect in tournaments your decisions become more important as they actually cost you money when you make mistakes, and may cost you a lot of money if you make a mistake that ultimately knocks. you out of the tournament before another pay jump happens.

      Hey Chalks, I have went over this hand in my head many times. I know it’s super close, but I still feel it is a fold. I have ran it in a solver and depending what range you put the Villain Landon Tice on here, the solver waivers back and forth based on the specific range you have inputed. I totally understand that you may want to fold, but you end up flicking in the call anyway :) Thanks for watching and commenting - Much appreciated!

      Thanks for your input. I certainly do appreciate your opinion and you feel it’s a fold. The fact is with this Vlog I’m not only gonna show you the pots I feel that are 100% perfect, but some that I know can bring about different ideas and thought processes. The only thing I would say is, although yes, I agree it would be a nice pot to rake in, however, you can’t win the tournament that early on and who knows what the outcome of the hand would be? This is also what I love about this Vlog is to have a community of people that will talk hands with me as I always want to talk hands and get input from you and many people! I am down for any comments, questions, concerns, info, feedback, and any ideas you may have about any hand ever played ! It boils down to me raising in first position and getting 3b in the second position, and Landon still willing to stuff it in with him being a very smart player, and knowing how tight both our ranges are. If it was a more recreational player maybe in the moment I make a different decision, who knows? I did ask some other very high-level players, for example, the online World Series of poker player of the year and he felt it was a fold. And he is massively aggressive as a Poker Player. Ty for watching, commenting, and providing your opinion!

    Just discovered your channel, and gotta say I love your content. +1 subscriber. Also, I went to college at Kent State and grew up in Medina so was crazy to hear you grew up in that area. My only comment is on deepstack hand no. 3 where you state that the 3c doesn’t really connect with the big blind’s range. I guess I’m just curious on this because in my mind the entire board is much better for the big blind than your pf raising range. He has a significant nut advantage with a lot of 6’s in his defend range, and the 3 completes hands like 33’s that get sticky, as well as 45s, and picking up a gutter with 55. I think what I’m getting at is, it’s mostly a brick, however I feel as if it’s definitely a better card for the BB than yourself, hence why I was confused on your comment. What are your thoughts? Maybe I’m misunderstanding the comment.

    • @robvanhoose
      @robvanhoose 2 місяці тому

      What a small world it is right? I remember in high school as a wrestler being in tournaments when I wrestled guys from Medina. First off, I love talking hands and i really. appreciate you taking the time to put in this comment . I had started at a table with this gentleman, and he was a senior in the range of around 70. Many seniors aren’t quite as they used to be considered super tight. However, this gentleman was very tight and extremely peculiar about the hands. He is going to defend. I agree 100% that your typical BB range is going to be contain cards in 4-8. This particular gentleman, big BB is going to be a little different as he’s probably only defending medium pears, Broadways, suited Broadways and solid aces, most likely A9 and above. He would also have trouble calling off his entire tournament life with any one pair hand. he will even most likely fold many two pair combos if there is straight or full houses possible for his opponent. So maybe in the video I could’ve been a little more specific and explain for this particular big bind range since he never check raised, or lead.This type of player would lead once he’s hit a large hand he had one pair type of hand. He may check-raise a big hand on the flop, or turn in some scenarios, but this gentlemen is never trapping a river. If it was against you it sounds like I would have played the hand much different :) This player is so happy to be playing at the World Series and will really struggle making a call unless he’s absolute certain he’s ahead. So since it was checked to me twice, I felt that I could make two smaller bets and jam a large bet on the river if he never made any other aggression other than check calling And, throwing strategy out the window sometimes when it’s checked to you on the river, you just gotta throw the chips in the middle!. Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing! LFG!

We had one unforeseen delay, getting out the second Vlog so we are slightly behind that schedule.. We have that kink ironed out and will now be releasing two each week. That being said, however, after the World Series, the Vlogs will be one per week. This is WSOP Vlog #3 for the World Series so just in case you haven’t checked out Vlog #1. That set of 10 hands I just can’t think of a worse hand that would ship this river? And people just don’t bluff in these spots nearly anywhere near enough it’s a hard fold and don’t think a solver would fold but sometimes the alarm just says I’m beat

    • @robvanhoose
      @robvanhoose 2 місяці тому

      Yeah, it was such a puke spot. I actually give her a lot of credit for the block bet, check raise jam. I do think there are still some hands I be, but I agree with you. Her range is so nutted. After deliberation, she probably can only make this play with sets of threes and fives and maybe in the strangest world an AT1 suited combination that she flatted from the small blind . Thanks for chiming in with your opinion on it as I love to talk poker hands! 90% of the people will say it’s just a cooler and move on, but I agree with you. There’s definitely a case that I could’ve found a fold. No matter what I definitely should’ve bet the turn much larger sizing .

    • @bcsolorza
      @bcsolorza 2 місяці тому

      Betting turn much larger wouldn't have mattered. She wasn't folding.

    • @robvanhoose
      @robvanhoose 2 місяці тому

      @@bcsolorza Ya I agree totally that she is NEVER folding that turn as it brings her such a sick draw. I am just saying without knowing the result of the river a large sizing is a value bet in case she had hit that Ace. The flop check I love,. I just think without being results orientated I should bet large on the turn for value. Do you think that makes sense?

      Thanks Jason, the goal is to have the Vlogs be between 15 and 20 minutes, but how could I stop the Vlog in the middle of all of those freaking crazy hands that went down during the Gladiator?? We had to take the troops and march on to try and capture some spoils! All joking aside when it was complete, and I watched it back for the first time I was surprised how it seemed to go pretty fast as there was so many hands and quick action that I was able to keep my attention to it and hoped that you would be able to as well! Thanks for sticking with me throughout all the insane All-ins as I’m sure it kept your heart pounding just like they did mine :) yes Jeremy Becker is super cool and it’s really nice that he is willing to share some of the things he is doing to make all his deep runs! Thanks for your incredibly positive feedback and I will continue to work hard to keep you excited to want to keep being a part of the “72” Army!

      That guys was a floor person (Tournament Director) they Rome the tournaments collecting the cards for when a players busts out so they can fill the seat. They also make decisions when something happens at the table that the dealer can’t handle. A floor person is called and has to make a decision based on what happened. It’s usually when a couple players have some sort of dispute, or something irregular like a mistake a dealer might make. Sometimes if a player takes to long a player at the table can ask for a clock in which case a floor person is called to set a 30 second timer for the player to act on their hand. If they do not act in that time the hand is “Dead” and the hand ends with his opponent being awarded the pot. They are basically the poker police. He saw I was filming a Vlog and decided to photo bomb lol.

    • @robvanhoose
      @robvanhoose 2 місяці тому

      Yes, I see where you’re coming from as I definitely could’ve bet the flop here especially since we were so deep. I chose to check the flop because my hand was so nutted and I had the entire board covered. I am 100% positive small bet on the turn was incorrect and I should have bet a sizing somewhere between 60 to 90%. Even after we see the villains hand, she obviously would’ve been calling any sizing. Larger is correct as I want to charge draws and make sure I get value if she had hit the ace. Thanks for commenting as I love to talk poker hands!

    • @robvanhoose
      @robvanhoose 2 місяці тому

      I think your, is extremely respectful. This was pilot. Most people who want to start a channel, analyze and sit on their hands and never start. I didn’t wanna be one of those people. So I went out, filmed a bunch of stuff and then a very long drawn out video. I am proud of it for one reason because it got me started. After it was complete I also agree that there wasn’t enough Poker action. I strongly encourage you to see my next blog that was technically really my first blog after the pilot. It is called bracelet hunting, and it is much different than the first. It got a lot more views and brought way more subscribers in. As MrBeast the number one, UA-camr says your first video will suck, but just get started and do it anyway. My actual real first Vlog was 10 times better than the first and I will continue to improve as I have a strong passion to provide poker content that you would like. Thanks so much for your comments and feedback as I take all of them and use them to help me make my Vlog even better.

    I really like your energy and like the way the vlog was made reslly easy to watch, wishing you every success. Thinking about having 88 every hand I think it would be reslly tough to win a tournament with cause you would still have to win a lot of flips and a good amount of time youre going to be behind, would be interesting to see if there was like a way of running a simulation to see what the percentage of wins would be

    • @robvanhoose
      @robvanhoose 2 місяці тому

      Good point Brian! Ever since this “random” question popped in my head I have gone back and forth on the % you win it. It’s an edge no doubt, but yes you’re still going to need to win flips and suck out a few times when behind. Plus, if you get heads up it would be all in probably every chance you had and that’s the one you HAVE to win - thanks so much for the positive feedback on the vlog! I’m loving doing it! I bet there’s def a solver expert that could do a mode lock and figure this out as you suggested… Any takers?? :)

When he started streaming, it was unheard of in Poker, and he was such a pioneer to do something that didn’t even have a track record of proving to be fruitful monetarily. He was just building community and having fun playing the game he loved! A TRUE legend!! The fact he did that for doesn’t surprise me, but at the same time it blows me away! You love to see it! • @robvanhoose
      @robvanhoose 2 місяці тому

      Funny you say that as I have been thinking about this silly question a long time and I had it at exactly 60% myself. However, lately I adjusted and I’ve been thinking 40% just because even if I build a huge stack I’m still going to have to win several all-ins towards the end when the blinds start to average at a much lower number and I’m still gonna have to win my share of them. When you’re not running great it can be tough to do! Thanks for commenting and checking out the vlog. I love doing this and am excited to really build a cool community with people that are passionate about poker like you are!
