Good stuff Shane. Looked like a great day out there.
smashing day.
Thank sharing my friend 👍👍
Hey Shane hope life's good for you and the family. Wow you can still see the mainland in this clip - nice work! :-D
Ballzy
Just saw this vid and just down the road from Warrnambool where we’re from. Looks like the Hobie AI works well in the rough conditions. Sailing is definitely on my bucket list, I’d love to learn.
Awesome work yet again Shane.. Great stuff.
Awesome video! What an epic session....
Nice work Shane, you're keen as but we already knew that ;)
Love you work Shane, top effort.
Sister channel.
hey shane was this the bayview rd launch? looked like its been blocked off now?
Great video! Excellent!
Way to make it look easy Shane ;)
Nice vid mate, good test out of the new night vision. 15 knots especially if its SE to SW and wind against tide are sketchy down that way.
Upload more videos Shane!
Nice!
Launch is in Lonsdale Bight but can be subject to surf. I generally avoid the RIP nowadays. Too much boat traffic and other hazards, plus you need very specific tides, swell and wind for safety.
Where did you launch from?
Good on you Mate, great stuff :)
Nice set up Mate :)
Awesome catch, Shane! How heavy of line are you using?
your father didn't,t teach you that !
Generally graphite but its often a mix. Thanks for the comment, I really need to get back into editing all the raw footage I have.
It's an older model Hobie Pa14.
Hi Shane. What size PA are you in?
Hahahah the cuttle at the end squirting you made me laugh..... U got balls of steel going out yak
Great video. You got a new sub. Check me out when you can.
4kg snapper are fun on light gear: 2-4kg rod, 2500 reel, 10lb braid and 15lb leader. But often go a bit heavier.
What's rod and reel and when lb mono for snapper up to 4 kilos 60lb
You got some big balls man! well done
excellent video. like u how u had the depth finder equiped and was able to include all that info in video. ur crazy tho.
What bait?
awesome stuff again Shane. What sort of depth did u pick him up from? Anywhere one could flyfish around the lake.... dunno how the flyrod would go in the yak
Those are fat trout! Cool video!
Great stuff Shane. Nice reward for all the planning and effort.
Awesome Shane..... how'd u get so clear under water? mine is always blurry or 2ft visibility
Hi Shane, I am deeply interested in fishing the Maribyrnong because it is so close to my house. Your insight has given me some info but I still have some questions. What spots should I fish? What bait should I use? What lures should I use? What time should I go? On what tide should I go? Is the place where steele creek meets the river a good place to fish? Is canning street bridge a good place to fish? What time of year should I fish? Is it worth using a fishing kayak? What berley should I use? I know I am asking a lot but any information at all will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, Hunter P.S. You can contact me via email hunter.thorpe00@gmail.com

Nice fish! Just got myself a set of Xraps to try to do the same thing
Nice 7 gill good job
that is off its tits! great vid! 3.59 scared the shit outta me!
Hi Shane, I take my Hobie Outback off Anthony's Nose quite a bit, haven't ventured as far as the Channel as yet, what a catch a seven gill! What was the bait you used? I mainly go out for Flathead on soft plastics, caught a dozen just-size yesterday afternoon. love to hear some of your fishing stories. all the best,
Hi Dave?, The 7gill was caught on cured eel. I generally write up trip reports on www.vyak.net (main Vic kayak fishing forum).
Well done Shane! How long did that all take?
Hi Del, It was around 22 minutes from hookup to landing.
Tide was running pretty well on the way back but not that noticable while trolling. Became more of a nuisance when I was anchored back in the bight.
Nice vid. Amazing that it was so 'safe' the day you went out. Did the tide start moving before you headed back in?
