    DON'T GO TO COUNTRIES THAT CRIMINALISE LGBT+ PEOPLE. We should have an international sense of community. Why should we give our pink money to a place that treat their local LGBT+ people as criminals? They're urging for international help to flee and then foreigners go there spend their pink money. I DON'T GET IT. In 2016 the population INVADED the house of gay mates in Beni Mellal, beat them, dragged them naked to the streets and then the police arrested both the couple and the aggressors. Later on people protested asking the aggressors TO BE RELEASED. We should boycott countries that treat the LGBT+ community as criminals! DON'T GO TO MOROCCO.

    What a great video! I'm a Half Moroccan, travelling there as you explained is great, make sure you stick to the touristic city, I would not recommend Casablanca, just a big city with nothing else that the mosque. Living there as an LGBT on the other side is not good at all, the society is so taboo about it at the moment, mixed with ignorance and also because the society is religious which are in their laws. Blessings xo

    it’s actually more acceptable and normalized in big cities like Marrakech and tangier or rabat and others… i personally live in Marrakech it ain’t even that bad ppl are more open minded here but some aren’t, and for the laws saying 3 to 5 yrs (actually 6 months to 3 yrs) jail for any lgbt activity, none of these get applied actually i always see a ton of gay men and women or even transgenders they’re never been caught for that, there is even gay moroccan movies u can search them up, and it’s not illegal to be gay in morocco what’s illegal is same-sex sexual activity, there is also too many cases about it but all of them were acquitted, m soo glad it’s getting more accepted by ppl here and its activism is just getting stronger!

    Just to give you a background about why the houses are built to be unassuming from the outside and have these lovely courtyards on the inside. Morocco has a very long Islamic history and with this comes the concept of modesty and privacy. So the family home is completely private from the outside world and the women don't need to worry about being seen from outsiders. Often there used to be 2 living rooms. One which is completely private for women and one for men, but this separation is for guests but within the family they would mix together.

      Also Riads have 4 roughly equal ground floor rooms at across from one another. This was so that each of the 4 wives could be seen that they were being treated equally. And they had a view of the garden as it was not often that they were aloud out of their rooms. Oh for those days!!!!. Only joking.

      Literally no, it just has to do with the climate, which is very arid and desert-like, this unique architecture serves to cool the house and its inhabitants down.

    • @ayb1470
      @ayb1470 Місяць тому

      @countesselizabeth literally yes. The climate is only partly the reason but the main reason is privacy.

    Given the earthquake, I hope all the beautiful people that you met in Marrakech and the Atlas will get the support and encouragement needed to recover. The visible scars of this trauma are bad, but it’s the invisible ones each person carries which need more care. Morocco already knows this, and the IFRC already have partnership plans with the Moroccan government to help in the psycho social support plans that are needed. You’re blessed to have been able to experience Morocco before this happened.

    Not just Tokyo, any place… having a place that has more than just bed space is going to be better for your mental health. 5sqm? Nope, I couldn’t do that. I did something a little bit larger when going thru a relationship time out, and mannnnn, that was really not good. It’s funny tho, almost everyone will think “yeah I know it won’t be great, but I’ll be fine, I’ll make it work” and most folk “can” make it “work” but after the experience it’s like “yeah nah, never again”…
