I hate the stuff with the flares at POI’s, ruins a lot of the fun of finding them on your own and they always die in the same way every time you approach them… and filling the island with props just… feels weird, I know it’s meant to be a resort but I’m playing a game with “The Forest” in the title, give me a forest…. It just doesn’t feel like a “stranded survival game” anymore and honestly previous versions of the game were better in my opinion

mostly i kill the lower creatures (wolf, jaguar, cave worms, etc) with the knife, using the bow for grizzlys and hunt the polar bear only with a rifle .... for moving bosses i use the spike defenses and a big repair hammer

People running frantically. That's what I remember. Everyone was running scared, hearing blaster shots fly past our heads as we all ran from the cold soulless steel that hunted us. People who were ahead were getting shot. How I somehow ran untouched will forever baffle me. But I remember a explosion. Ringing my ears. Forcing me to fly sideways before hitting the ground. The dirt in my scrapes and the taste of my busted lip as I rubbed any dirt out of my eyes. Seeing the red glow hanging over me as I loathe what is to come. I look up where I laid. The gargantuan machine, staring into my soul, did it crave to have one? Could it even understand the concept of life? Emotion? Standing on all fours as it let out a deafening call. I remember clamping my hands against my ears as I heard it. Laying there as I watched both barrels face me. The laser sightings were set directly on me. But then I heard it. Like the sky was being torn open. The giant mechanical beast looked up, and I followed. A flaming bullet rained down. Before either me or the machine could react, what I thought to be a firery bullet, had screwed straight through the head of the giant, severing it completely. As the the iron monster collapsed and grew limp. A rising light risen up to replace it. Standing there looking at me. Extending their hand to me. I took it with inspiration. We weren't being hunted. It was the Soulless Steel that was Prey.

I wonder when the Icorus team would focus on the stability of the game . Dont get me wrong , its so cool they add new things and tweaks like that , but I feel like there is something major wrong with the stability.In my case its the opening of the map that drops the frames to 3-5 , and the occasional studders and its on a capable machine that should run it butter smooth

With the plants it would be nice if they included the environments they can be found in.

How about Buffedfalo instead of Brokefalo.

My vote is for "Fixed Fellow" or "Fixedfallo" - to recognize his tortured past AND how the devs have fixed a bug! Nice look at the lights. I think the electric lantern is pretty close to the animal fat lantern in terms of distance - but the quality of the light is much much better. Curved building sets and OIL. I think oil may be a new source material that could be processed for fuel - and I'm hoping additionally for plastics. This could be intended for the Tier 5 content? RE DLC that is useful for most players - I would also suggest 1) the interior decorations pack - the mineral lights alone are both useful and very decorative and 2) the art deco decorations pack. Art deco both looks nice and gives you very very bright lighting. The chandelier is not only very useful to light a big big area in a base, but you can put them onto beams stuck in cave ceilings to light them up as well - which can help with thumping big caves when there is no lava to light up the area. That lets you shoot the landshark from a greater distance than your lantern can light up. Another terrific update video Josh! Happy they are working to make the null zone release as polished and full of good content as it seems that they are. Cheers! JW

Hi Josh! I’m excited about the new field guide.

not sure who said it but you do not have to build beacons to mark on the map....beacons are usually in the SIMPL3 missions for building a tower and for finding the abandoned base. We often "recycle those" and use them to mark things on the map when my buddy and I play.
