Hello Anthon😊 I have a question for you about the 747-8f. I recently purchased a 747-8f from SSG on x-plane 11 platform（an aviation simulator） and then I found a problem with AT (Auto Throttle). When I set the speed to 160kt (Vref+5kt) in the speed window during the final approach (eg. Vref=155kt) and activate the AT, the AT is so unresponsive that it will only throttle up when the aircraft is at 150 knots and will only throttle down when it reaches 160 knots, which ultimately causes the aircraft's speed to repeatedly change from 150 to 170kt, which really affects me, so I have to turn off the AT and control the throttle manually. Since I am not sure if this is a bug or not, I would like to ask you, does the aircraft's speed also change drastically like this when the autothrottle is turned on during the approach of a REAL B747-8f aircraft? If yes, then how did you fix it?🤔
First of all, I've flown the B747-400 only but I presume the AT- behaviour is comparable. With the AT in SPD mode during approach it should be more responsive than you describe. But under very gusty wind conditions such speed variations can be seen.
