Beyond good and evil 2 need a rename from its origin

From the moment they showed off the latest iteration of beyond Good and evil 2. I found myself wishing that they just leave it alone. Why bother calling it Beyond Good and evil if it's just generic space adventure, starring a bunch of characters we've never seen before? It should not be that hard. The game should have us playing as Jade and be story driven. The core gameplay loop should be the same dungeon diving with stealth mechanics as in the first one. And while new characters would of course be welcome, it would be nice to see characters like double h and Paige make a return. Frankly, the sequel nearly writes itself. In the first game you expose the conspiracy to the planet of Hyllis. So wouldn't the sequel just be about Jade and the gang blasting off two other worlds where they would gather evidence and expose the truth to those other worlds? Be very easy to bring in the same core game play loop with that plot.

With this game and its early iteration, for the comparisons, why is everyone forgetting about the Ubisoft game Starlink Battle for Atlas? Ubisoft, makers of BGE1-2 (hopefully) Starlink, and SW Outlaws, regardless of differences in publisher at Ubisoft, they have the tech to now do what BGE1 was supposed to be as a whole game dev company. But everyone forgets about SLBfA or that it was an Ubisoft game.

I found spells to be useful. I have a spell that cast 3 balls of hydro or Pyro, with my crit chance and damage high I destroy bigger enemies quickly. Also have an accessory that generates MP plus the skill that gives mp per kill and mp rejuvenation. It was extremely helpful doing 900 damage total against a boss I had trouble with. A few mana bottles goes a long way.

In retrospect, Beyond Good & Evil was a beautiful game, simple, straight to the point, and a badass protagonist! Played the hell out of this game back in 2012 on the PS2 when i was 12. I liked this game so much, a year later, i searched to see if this game had a sequel, and even though this game was in development hell since '08, it was a shame. Compared to its 2017 prequel trailers, it looked so good, but its so out of reach. Between Ancel's controversy and the new developer's death, beyond good & evil 2 will be lost in time at this point. Not to mention that the first game was gonna get a 20th anniversary remake, but no... Ubisoft leaked its own game only to take it down...

I believe with the absence of Michel Ancel the game itself can not be what it was intended to be anymore. Emile was very close to Michel so I would have said it is in good hands but we know what happened. My condolences. I agree with what you are saying about it that it will probably come out not what it was supposed to be. To be honest, I am now 25 years old, in 2008 I was 9. If they did not cancel it and are still firm on finishing it, I would say it might come out at like 2040. Kinda just a feeling

Yeah I do wish they fixed up bahamuts drop weapon for the weapons. I spent 3 hours on him. Beating him within 3m each time. Just to get 1 weapon that wasn't for my main. Unfortunately for me I don't have time for stuff like that and made me lose interest in the game

The difference between making a game for players vs making a game for buyers

That's what I enjoy about GBFR. It doesn't limit you on playing it while being a grinding game. It's quite easy to get all characters to max level. It's just That it can take a long time to get the right sigils and their weapons. But because there is no daily limit. It is a grinding game that allows you to grind. While the others are a grinding game that limits your grinding.

I play Genshin since day one, and yes.... GBFL is ridiculous superior when the factor is Action RPG gameplay and multiplayer gameplay. Mihoyo should be shameful!

idk why you are comparing it to mihoyo games when they are nothing alike. Yeah a game focused on big combat on pc is going to be better at combat than a shallow mobile gatcha game, like what? Better comparison is monster hunter.

I've played most Hoyoverse games and Genshin in the beginning of the game is one of the best games of all time. BUT, after you get through all the exploring and do all the quest after couple/few months.. It just falls off hard. There isn't really anything to do after you do those certain things. The game is more of a first experience thing and enjoy it and f*ck off afterwards. What are you going to do? Complete 36 stars 1,000 times? Explore in the same areas over and over and collect mint? That gets boring after awhile. I do like now and then to look around in the world itself because the world itself is beautiful and no one can take that away from the game. But, there isn't really anything to do in the world itself. Now, Relink is better than Genshin and most Hoyoverse games but it won't ever be better than Honkai. That is overall the best game they have by a big margin. You know it, I know it and everyone knows it. I hope it can get on that level of Honkai and I see the potential of the game but for right now it's not better than Honkai.

Both are action JRPG, but only one have the option to do solo character boss battle

Totally agree with the point some of you guys is saying that GBF:Relink should not be compared with any of the Mihoyo games since they were built to be different. While one is meant to be a game you pay for the whole and play for as many hours as you would like to, and the other one is built to make you pay as much as the publisher would like you to before one day you get tired of that shxt and wake up.

In Genshin story content is delivered every couple of months, and the maximum GBFR is one boss and a couple of characters, a game without content will quickly die, that’s the difference, if GBFR at least submitted a new plot for a couple of chapters and normal dungeons every couple of months, then it it would be better, but the developers are too lazy to do this; they have been making 10 chapters for 15 hours for many years.

granblue story is shorter. way shorter. (duh...11 quests against genshins dozens of story quest) less characters (i believe genshin has 3 times more) less weapons(realistically granblue has only terminus. genshin sometimes has 2-3 variants for alternative playstyles) better combat(somewhat) more grindy (getting full build in granblue is harder. perfecting it is almost impossible cuz there are so many sigils needed and they are rare sometimes) even though the graphics is similar genshin has better movement most of the open world puzzles are similar though in both games.

Ganyu is not a child or even a teen, literally just an adult, its a bad example and kind of shows some innate bias. Also there are a decent amount of characters that are adults in Genshin (probably majority), and the vast majority of characters in HSR are adults and very few are actually even child/teens (its like 3-5 of 43) . Most of the physique are similar in Mihoyo games and Grandblue does have more diversity in their character's physique (mainly the men) is one of the goods about the series. On to the choice to play a game vs a chore and time spent. Its as much of a choice to play Mihoyo games as it a choice to play Relink. Some people like being able to spend like 15-45 minutes a day slowly chipping away on a game that will last at least multiple years building to a "veteran account" and some people like playing a game to its fullest for a month or two, grinding away at it for as long as they want and going on to another game once they are done. It doesn't mean one is better than the other its just a preference. (Both games can also both be seen as a chore and a choice for grinding for materials, you can't say its one for one game and something else for another just because of how it feels to you when respectively they have the same goal as you say) As for monetization Genshin is just bad there is nothing to say, I personally wish games were either pay up front (Relink/Elden Ring) or just pay for cosmetics that don't change any gameplay (League/Overwatch/Counter Strike) but of course making people pull for characters will always make the company more money than anything else. At the very least HSR has been far more generous to its players. As much as I do like Relink generally more than Genshin (I like HSR more though), I will probably enjoy Relink less than those game due the eventual lack of new content, which I understand was not promised when I bought the game. Trying to claim a game is objectively better than another when they are ultimately different experiences is at minimum disingenuous and at most just being toxic to other game.

To the people saying it's pointless to compare them because they are different because genshin is an online live service: maybe just maybe it doesn't need to be one? You know releasing a finished product not meant to be a bait to a casino used to be the norm. What is Genshin? It is a shit BotW open world with some action rpg element (multiple characters playable, gearing, story etc...) with a butload of time gated stuff to keep you hooked. And if there's someone just saying I'm a hater: I have played for longer than you, I have spent more money than you and I still play more hours of Genshin than you each day.

comparing a live gacha game with a non-live RPG game is like comparing apples with oranges. It is more correct to compare GBFR to that of FF7 Remake or the likes

If you consider time is money, GBF Relink is the greediest gacha game in history with a good sup V+ sigil having a 0.013 drop rate.

this is such a weird video, granblue and genshin are nothing alike, they have completely different design philosophies. it doesnt even feel like you are talking about genshin but rather of how you just dont like live service games, the monetisation of f2p / gacha games and their Ingame Systems in general, which thousands of other games have in the same way. so its really more of a comparison of the buy to play experience compared to the f2p experience
