Maori wood carving design under way.
Just starting to set up the design process for pakati and haehae. Pretty early stages so ill post another vid later showing some more of the stages. Still new to posting on youtube so im sure you will see a big improvement over a short period if you hang about and stick around.

This is a new type of wood that I’ve not used before, a Nz native which I’m not 💯 on the Māori name for this particular beech but it is the red beech variety. So having some fun in seeing how easy or difficult it works….turns out it takes a tool nicely 👌👌👌
Wow stunning as

chur bro I'm a carver from tūrangi, just getting started never been to carving school, please tell me did you use a router to get it to this stage? thankyou
Hey g what sort of finish did you use
A banana is an elongated, edible fruit -botanically a berry - produced by several kinds of large herbaceous flowering plants in the genus Musa. In some countries, cooking bananas are called plantains, distinguishing them from dessert bananas. The fruit is variable in size, color, and firmness, but is usually elongated and curved, with soft flesh rich in starch covered with a rind, which may have a variety of colors when ripe. The fruits grow upward in clusters near the top of the plant. Almost all modern edible seedless (parthenocarp) bananas come from two wild species - Musa acuminata and Musa balbisiana. Most cultivated bananas are M. acuminata, M. balbisiana, or hybrids of the two.
What kind of finish is that? Varnish or something? Looks great
Crazy good!!
Snapped my head back beauty!
AHH BACK WITH THE WHANU
beautiful ! i'm pretty new to this but love it. Would you tell what kind of wood this is? And.... do you have favorite kinds of wood you like to carve the most ? Does the log need to be soaked (in a river or sth) for some period , before larger pieces are ready to be worked on?
Accidental asmr
