WIDEBODY/BAGGED STI GETS COMPLETE TRANSFORMATION!! HOW TO DISSASEMBLE AND WRAP 15 WRX STI
hey! i’m wrapping my nd next month myself, and i wanted to know how you got the side mirrors off or if you have any footage of you taking them off? i done a couple of searches but i haven’t found one that shows or explains it very well 😅
@@gracelynshelby983 have to remove the door card, then the glass(main window and little quarter glass) then you can unscrew the bolts holding the mirror in place
I love this color, and am likely to copy it on my MX-5 RF.
What kind of rims are those?
Stock ss 1le wheels
I got 2014 q50 I want to do my center park black on my front bumper
How realistically is it to DIY a wrap as a first timer? I live in a remote region of Canada without shops 200km around and I would like to change the color of my car and wrapping seems the best solution.
it wont be too bad for your first time, just be very patient, dont rush and understand you will make some mistakes and that its okay to mess up. definitely recommend using avery dennison or 3m vinyl for your first go as they are the easiest to learn with
How much wrap did you need?
What’s the tint on the front windshield??? Thanks!!
Nice work! I have a question you don't make inlay for rear bumper? Did I see correctly?
@@MehmetYilmaz-e2l so I only inlay the inner part where it goes to the trunk on these bmw’s. You definitely don’t need to, I just like to inlay it for a longevity purpose but can easily 1 piece it as well! Really up to you and what install you’re comfortable with. The rest of the bumper doesn’t require any inlays though
Wish I was in the area. Sadly here in NJ. I have an RF as well, similar body mods, splitter, diffuser and side skirts. What was the totalcost and time frame on this wrap?
@@danielnieto2701 hey! So I have 2 locations. One of Florida and one in New York! This one was priced differently as it had some add ons like a detail and ceramic coat added to it as well. These smaller Miata’s we do for $2k labor plus vinyl material cost and then any add ons the customer may request. Took me 3 days on this one plus the ceramic coat to be put on and cure for a day. so 4 days total before customer pick up
@@cgwraps. Shops around me in DFW are charging 4k+ in just labor 💀Gonna try wrapping my ND myself. Seems like an easy car to wrap since it has so few body lines
Wow… what a fantastic job man. I love seeing all the small things you do in your process to ensure your cuts and snaps are perfect. You really know what you’re doing and take pride in your work, and I really admire that.
Thank you for the kind words!
Looks amazing! ❤
How much did it cost
labor fee will vary per car and color selection as each brand and color is priced differently. this car in particular is a easy one and it has a black base and as far as disassembly and install of panels it’s on the easy side. so labor fee on this bmw was $2,000 and the material cost was just under $500 for nardo gray. our work also comes with install warranty and a ceramic coating
if you planned on doing this yourself this exact nardo gray is currently at $515 shipped from cheetahwraps
gorgeous
How did you take of the plastic from the fenders ?
Is the wing a stick on or a screw in???
Avery gloss rock grey?
cheetah gloss nardo gray. very similar
He literally said the name in the video.
Результат ошеломительный!
I wish u showed the quarter panels. How long this take u in real time
theres an f80 m3 on my page, basically the same car that has the quarter panel install in it. these bmws are rather easy only took me 2 days
How did you remove the lower trunk trim without breaking the tabs?
I’m running into the same problem bro? Wrapping my Q, broke 2 clips 20mins ago 🤦🏾♂️ no one shows how they wrap the trunk
@@Q50_lifestyle nah facts, heard you gotta heat them up and squeeze them from the back
@@anthonyydo damn, I guess I should of tried that before braking the rest off 😮💨 only got 1/5 left on 😅
the amount of work is insane. super impressive
Hey I would love a video of wrapping the skirts aswell :) looking forward to trying this myself .. do you know if wrapping will be affected by low temps in a workshop? .. I have a shed but its freezing cold.. TY
So the skirts are wrapped in 1 piece along with the quarter panel, these are rather simple. Just run some knifekess tap on the quarter and skirts inside the jamb to cut a nice straight line and without damaging the paint. As for the cold it most certainly can be a factor, ideal work temp would be around 72-78° for most brands. You can do it in the cold but the wrap will be more susceptible to tearing and having a harder time with initial tack. Can use your heat gun to warm the panel up to help with initial tack if there’s an issues with that
OMG 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! That’s my color 😊
What did you do about the texture on the fenders? Did you sand it down before the wrap or does the golf ball texture come through?
Hi how much of meters of vinytl did u need for the whole car ty
always recommend ordering a full roll “5’x75’
what rims are those in the end
How much does a job like this cost???
did you have to prep the surface of the over fenders for wrapping since they're not smooth?
Did an AMAZING job
Nice
Where can I get a body kit for an 2017 f30? How ouch would it costs to wrap a bmw with this color?
Does wrapping a car damage the original paint job? I'm new to this stuff. 😂 Love that color!
if it’s original paint you’re good to go! just use a proper brand name!
You are a fucking chad for doing this video. My first time wrapping a whole car and it came out sick thanks to your help!
glad i could help!
This is so clean what kind of bmw is this and what year?🔥
F30 2016
Why didnt you show the wrapping of the fender plastic??
it was a last second decision made by the owner when he came to get the car he decided to see if we could try it and see how it will hold up. super simple though should take like 15-20 mins to do all of them really quick
@@cgwraps. 👍, hows it holding up?
@@teamsynikal38 never had any issues surprisingly. but i’d definitely recommend doing it proper and sanding them down and priming
Question, how many feet of wrap do i need for that car?
we always recommend using 75' for every vehicle. best to have a whole roll then come up short. realistically youll be fine with 60'
did you sand down the plastic fenders to wrap it? or did the customer buy the paint match fenders?
actually neither. he’s my closest friend and wanted me to try and wrap it as is, wasn’t any guarantee i told him. as the correct way would be to sand, prime, paint then wrap. but wrapped it as is. and it’s actually never lifted even over a year later. which i still can’t believe
i’d recommend to still do it correct. if this was a normal customer i would have never even touched the plastics. if i did they would have been sent out for sand, prime and paint then i’d offer to wrap them
How much do you charge for just wrapping and ceramic coating. I have the same exact car
Colour is insane
What wheels are those
I think apex 5 spoke
how do you take out the antenna? on the rear right panel?
this one was on the trunk. on other makes and models there’s usually a metal retainer clip or can unscrew from the top after unscrewing the antenna portion. all of them are different and i’ve never removed a nd miata antenna from the side panels sadly
@@cgwraps. Tank you i removed everything i could and still couldn't figure out how to pull the antenna out. Thank you!
@@mazurestar worst case can wrap around it. cut the panel to size and then poke a hole in the wrap and slide it where the antenna is and start from there, i do that on older Z’s as they are normally rusted on
@@cgwraps. that's exactly what I did! I appreciate you following up!
As purple is my favorite color, if Mazda made a Miata purple or even bright red, I’d buy one. In 10 years of the nd, they haven’t so I’ll just keep driving my red nb Miata
They do make a red?
@@braisedtoast9002 they do make a ruby red called crystal soul red metallic but not a clean true race red like every other sports car on the planet. Since this post, I did buy a 2023 soul red Miata but I do wish it was a clean true red.
@@romano54321 wrap it man
@@braisedtoast9002 4k for a wrap that starts peeling / bubbling in spots almost immediately and lasts 3-5 years with hood, door and trunk jambs not covered, no thanks.
@@romano54321 I hear you man. I currently have a white nd3 club miata with the recaro package and so wish it was british racing green. I very well might trade it in for the 35th anniversary if they give me green and tan leather interior.
That color is beautiful 😍❤️
What color is this wrap?
@cgwraps What brand and color is this?
Did you watch the video? 0:17
How many rolls of wrap would you recommend from cheetah? (60"x75" rolls) For a Model 3.
You would just need the 60”x75’ roll to complete a model 3 and you’ll have plenty leftover in the event if any mess ups!
Shoot me a dm on instagram if you need any further assistance
How did you get off the fuel cap, was there a bolt like the previous gen?
yes sir
What brand of wrap was use... Thanks
cheetah nardo gray
Where can I get a wrap from
Hey I have a question. Is 58 x 5ft enough to wrap my full q50 ??
yea but no room for error, and have to cut efficiently. so when cutting the quarter panel you are also cutting out the doors and skirt out of the same piece. both front and rear bumper out of the same sheet as well
@@cgwraps. ok thank you boss I’m gonna give it a try and see how it goes thanks for the tip 👍🏻
What color and brand is this wrap? Thanks
Cheetah wrap, gloss nardo gray
I have the exact car and i want to wrap it in Smurf blue. How much do you think this would cost? Does it damage the paint?
won’t damage the paint if it’s OEM paint. a lot of cars will have resprayed panels and the owner may not be aware of, generally the wrap shop will go over the vehicle condition and inform you, even if it’s repainted it doesn’t mean the paint will come off. just depends how well the paint was prepped. can get a smurf blue from cheetah wrap for $509 shipped! ot give it a shot yourself!
@@cgwraps. it is a 2023 model, brand new. I would pay someone to install it. I just don’t know how much the labor would be
@@Joroz006 gotcha, yea that will vary per shop and their experience. we personally charge $2500-3k labor fee for that vehicle varying on current color of car, color going on car, aftermarket parts etc. you’ll get prices anywhere from $1600-$4k again varying per shop and experience. just do your research on the shop and ask to see vehicles they’ve done!
@@cgwraps. thank you so much. I would assume the ones that are 2,000 don’t do a quality job
@@Joroz006 not always true. Could be a smaller shop with less overhead, a new comer who happens to be talented and listening quickly. I’ve seen good work cheap and expensive work bad before. Best bet is to research a shop and check out some prior wrapped vehicles and how well they are holding up
