How in the hell did you get the action so smooth on the blue one? Mine sticks like crazy even after adding oil

White is coming out now. Some stores jumped the gun and put them out early. My store just did a big remodeling, probably why they had them out. Keep an eye out

@MRGoods89 i got it off amazon, I guess it's out of stock. There's a bigger channel who did a review and so I guess his audience jumped and now they are restocking or out of stock.

Yes hell of a score I picked one up last week as well, has a nice feel for one hand use, I continue to be impressed with Ozark trail!
it's nice! i'm gonna try to upgrade it some, never really messed with sharpening an axe or anything so should be a fun lil project
As a kid I went chopping cotton and we sharpened the hoe's with a hand file so I think this being an axe with thick edge like a hoe I will sharpen with a file.
@@gilbertrios5283 that should do it! i saw a youtube channel "inmyshed" making knives with basic tools like a file. they were nice! such a great skill to have. maybe i'll try a file too, i saw one video of someone using that technique. i thought about a puck or sandpaper, lol. maybe the file is the best route. the reviews on walmart have some good ideas too.
@@alsknivesandmore best to clamp it on a vise but if no vise use clamps to secure it to a table or bench and go to town on it.

Yeah I just bought one of these the other day I seen it and I was like damn that's a cool looking knife it looks like a high-end Etsy or something it's only an eighth inch stock and it's cheap still but it's great for like a non-Batoning camp knife
it might hold up pretty well i saw the previous version with the wood handle on Peterbiltknifeguy's channel. it held up OK for what the money is. definitely more of a starter knife though. i did like the look as well, i finally decided to grab it. cool that it caught your eye too!

Update bought the 2 fixed blades that you got, received yesterday and wow I'm freaking happy with them! They may be budget but they certainly do not look feel or perform budget! Great dirt cheap score from Walmart! Thanks again!
haha yeah I really like mine too. always liked that reaper homage but just didn't like the pakkawood handle. really like how walmart improved that one. glad you like em!

Had to order one before they sold out. Every Walmart araound me sold out in a week, and even online they are going fast.
yeah i hope they made a whole bunch, but they never seem to make enough.
@alsknivesandmore I got mine today. Except for the fact that they put loctite in the screws and the ugly orange color, I like everything about it. I used Rit Dye-More Charcoal synthetic dye to turn the orange scales to black. It's unfortunate about the screws though, because if (when) an omega-spring breaks, I won't be able to fix it. It's still worth the $10, though.
@@flatasacueball6326 yeah it's nice they went out of their way to add loc-tite but in some cases can be a little annoying for maintenance.. might be able to break it open. but maybe not worth the effort really. good to know it takes rit dye well, i thought about grabbing another to play around with. i'm one that didn't mind orange and black colorway tho as i think it's like orioles colors a little. great for 10$ no doubt
@alsknivesandmore Weird, how it's just the upper set of body screws and one clip screw. All the other ones move fine. I had a similar experience with another Ozark Trail knife. Either they used red loctite on a few random screws, or some screws get put in cross-threaded at the factory. Either way, it's a bit of a disappointment. I just gotta hope the springs last a long time, I guess.
@flatasacueball6326 yeah, sometimes I'll just drop oil in the pivot and hope for the best in that situation, but with the axis it's limited it's life cycle quite a bit if you cant replace the spring. They definitely cut a lot of corners on some of these knives
