First time out with the old girl since rebuilding it couldn’t get her to go on the trans brake it’s a all steel all glass cruiser so weight transfer is a issue but she did good off the foot break

@@austinlancaster1303 honestly I’d have to watch the video to even know how it ended but I just sold the car two days ago for 3000$ but I’ll go see how it ended
Ok sir the verdict is it ended up being and plug on the rack n pinion lol 5$ plug but had to take it to the electrical guy to figure it out and cost me 500$ so I basically broke even on the car but it happens least I didn’t lose money bc that happens to

@@seanpcarey there’s no fun in that most the time I use my impact drill a lot of times I just use wrenches I’m not in no hurry
@@Toolman83 You must not work flat rate. I was an a tech for 45 years. Trust me it helps save Your hands and joints for when You get older. And truly make the job go faster .
@@seanpcarey naw man I buy fix and flip cars and I do it at my own pace and I enjoy the wrenching everyone always is to much of a hurry I’m more laid back like I say I use my drill for a lot of the top stuff and 1/2 impact when I need to break stuff loose but it’s not a race for me

My 69 Cougar with a 572 Kasse Boss nine. 9.6 comprehensive, pump gas, fuel factory interior. 3.89 gears, caltracs, 10.5/28 drag radials ran 6.00's at 3900 lbs with driver, also had an AOD trans
@@russellderonda1489 yea this car wouldn’t hook off the trans brake so was just foot braking it and we only took it up to 32 degrees and only ran it to about 6000 being a fresh build first time out no street miles at all just run stand
Hard to time a engine without timing light but he seems to have done a good job old school
@@simonmears1726 yea it’s has a digital al in the car with lockout distributor. That pos on our run stand the cap moves around

Ican get within 2° by ear. ,many times perfect . Set mine up on the test stand , water and oil leak checked.stick em in and go.
@@ronniecox109 that’s how we do it on the stand but once it goes in the car we make sure she good to go car ran good happy with it
@@Toolman83 Another old school trick, have a trusted assitant, load it up , get it on the convertor. With vacuum gauge attached. And set timing while up on the convertor. Theoretically the highest vaccum reading , should be when she is happy. Called it power timing adjust. AND REMEMBER. LEAN IS MEAN ,, BUT FAT IS HAPPY.

@@Toolman83 I found a marine 502 that we punched out to a 540 had a set of Edelbrock heads and it ran great no complaints but crap Edelbrock intake manifold gaskets leaked on me so when we refreshed it we put brodix heads on and picked up a little horsepower keep on building them bro motor looks great car looks great

@@Wadley225 how long have you been out of the drag racing world all anyone does anymore is 1/8 mile I never liked it but it’s grown on me a lot easier on the car I feel plus turbo cars would take over the world in the 1/4 😂

@@chevyguy9160 it’s all 12g wire I’m not sure the brand if that’s what your asking it’s just a copper strand wire auto/marine wire

would it be possible to jumper the grounds from relay to relay and just run to the ground block off of the last relay?

@@bradleymadosh911 old man is 70 been building motors his whole life I think tuning it by ear is fair enough for the run stand. Now that it’s in the car it’ll get the timing light to set it bc it’s locked out and I tune it with the computer. That distributor there is junk that’s why it’s on the run stand not what’s in the car

What kind of puller did you use?
@@ZahaviKior just a three jaw puller but you’ll have to take it apart get it in the pulley then put it back together bc you can’t pull it by the outside
@@Toolman83 which size did you use? I have the 3 set from harbor freight and there are three different sizes. Would it be the medium one?
@@ZahaviKior honestly I’m not sure I only have one and it is adjustable has four sizes on one
@@Toolman83Hey, would a 5 ton pulley work? Your pulley tool looks like a five ton pulley from AutoZone. I tried the two ton but it’s too small.
@@ZahaviKior yea again sorry I’m not sure what that puller is I bought it along time ago it don’t take much to get the pulley off sometimes they just pry off with a pry tool

I charged the guy 300$ labor the chain set was probably 200-300 on rock auto
