Hey man, didn't know there's still people interested in the R. I'm just using YT as a form of cloud 😅 is there anything in particular you want to know about the R?
@@Jmoneyy365 looking good. Did a big service a couple of months ago. Hello mate. I still own the car. You mean here at the video? It had a full Scorpion exhaust, SPM intercooler, Vwr intake, hpfp and a few other minor mods
who claimed stock block? the engine is build top to bottom. Last setup before it was sold was G30-770 turbo. Running 630whp and if i remember correctly dragy was 4,8sec on low boost and 4,3sec on high
@@jackies83 My car is getting tuned next month, it's a slow golf 6 1.2 tsi (86hp), but with stage 1 it's 130-140hp with a lot more torque. The thing is that I just would like to see oil temp in my speed display without needing to scroll through the menu.
I have a Scorpion TBE, an SPM i/c and a VWR intake but i believe my setup is not optimal. If i was to do things again from scratch i would go with Revo intake, Wagner i/c and probably the same exhaust with a catless downpipe
@@jackies83 I really like the catted APR downpipe on my GTI, but unfortunately finding one of them for the 6R has turned out to be impossible unless I'm willing to wait years for a used one. I'm a big fan of the stock location intercoolers like Wagner/APR/Unitronic as I think they're more effective. Thank you for getting back to me on my questions. It's always fascinating seeing what paths people have taken, and figuring out my own mod path.
@@JustinStrife APR exhausts indeed sound amazing for the mk6 platform and it's sad they stopped production. An alternative would be Corsa exhaust . They are the ones making the exhaust systems for APR. If you're lucky enough to score one that is
@@recklesshoongarage566 you're on the wrong side of UA-cam then my guy. There's no replacement for displacement. If you need something faster, you need a bigger engine or just build yours
Any change to the downpipe on your exhaust setup tends to trigger an engine fault code in VW’s, nothing to worry about, usually gets coded out by custom tuners though so possibly his tuner was still learning, could be other sensors being made a lot less/more sensitive due to the power he’s making now, etc.
Old setup was APR stage 2+ and Dynodrome tcu. After i went TTE420 i tried APR's map for it and didn't like it much so i thought it was time to go custom tuned. RevLimit ecu and tcu map. Now car runs flawlessly 👌
@@jackies83 I've got the Golf R 7.5 with an APR Stage 1 tune, just looked like mine was faster, just found it odd how st 2+ is tiny bit slower then stage 1. But yes, that is from 9 years ago so very well could be because it was an old tune
@@recklesshoongarage566 don't get confused. EA113 engine have nothing to do with newer EA888. 888 is much more efficient and has great power potential while 113 needs lots of fueling mods just to be on par with the mk7 oem form
