Oh boy does AI Ludger LOVE the Gun flip and knockdown kicks. He constantly opens with them no matter what he's set to, for better or worse. Even so Ludger's Gun AI is probably his best one since unlike his other forms, he actually will use pretty much every arte he has (unless you're Heatwave which he uses precisely never) at any point in a combo and he actually DOES like to switch to Swords to extend his combo. Alas those runs were sadly met by a Maihadare to the face, 11/21 times being to the death. Such is the Julius experience lol Glad it looked easier than it was cause BOY did we eat many, many Ritual of Devastations, Classic Maihadares, and Moonlight Assault Stun into combos in the BG. This the only run I didn't have to rely on Sage Knives to recuperate HP since Ludger's AI does account for Julius' hammer resist and switched to it at most 3 times across the 2h of 22 total runs. Why Only Heal doesn't make Ludger switch to Hammer to heal, wish I knew but eh least Sage Knives/Phoenix Armor exist. -Still wish Ch12's Bonus Scene Guns had a heal passive so each form had a heal though.-

Julius knows his last moments are upon him, this he must die as he lived: spamming Falling Snow until his target falls down. Lol -Spoilers, this isn't the only time this exact scenario happened. At this point it's like he saves it purely for me and this run.-

Even AI Leia knows the secret to a good boss fight is to use heavyweight champion Rending Quake. I sure know now that if Ludger's either not in Last Stand range, he better be at 50% HP before Sigma Leia or Alpha Jude use their Solo Usuals™ (Jude loves Beast/Demon Fist) to teach AI Ludger the power of childhood best friends. lol

I bet you when I get to those two, it'll be stupidly easy and I'll be like, "Wow this really does make this less cancer!" But meanwhile Gaisley over here's like, "Sure hope you just find a way to power through this skill kid, because it ain't fucking happening lol". Merry Christmas to you too~ 🎅

Gaius' Reflective Damage is a living nightmare indeed. Muzet isn't normally THAT bad for a real run, but with the shadow boxing, she and Elize were very much my targets for elimination once they hit the field. Though since Gaius can wedge himself in there any any moment and drop Ludger's HP for a quick Muzet kill, damn does he slow this fight down to an absolute CRAWL. But rather play safe than die lol I feel bad he was right there when I checked HP. Was curious at the time if it was worth switching to Alliance Arms if he was low enough to risk Ludger's HP dropping to 1, but RIP if Ludger's CS had lasted just a SECOND longer, he would've flexed on Gaius the best way he knows how. Least the image of Julius shooting his father down with a single bullet is pretty funny though.

The power of a complete Chromtus just makes you better at everything. We plebs are just ants to squish.

Unfortunate cause 20k is almost nothing since her MA did 220k alone. If only Ludger snuck in one more element to the combo, Leia would've gotten her cool finish. Oh well ;-( Magma Dragons are just blech thanks to that last tornado hit being a launch even on Guard. And the Leia Stun bullying as she was trying to get Milla back up, true pain. Least we made them feel true back eh? Tantrum Poison Squid is an unfortunate creature. Not TOO bad living it, but if we could actually combo this dumb thing, would've probably looked pretty nice. Gaisley did his best to flex though and succeeded despite the circumstances. His send off (bar Muzet's 4th episode) was one to remember as President of Spirius and secret king of Rieze Maxia. (￣^￣ゞ

The Magma Dragons made me wanna scream, "JUST LET LEIA REVIVE MILLA,. GODDAMN YOU". And then they killed Rowen the minute she did. You cannot convince me they didn't know Leia was the problem and took personal beef to keep her pinned down. Oh well, she did a good job staying alive herself the last run so we weren't doomed unless Judelius went down himself. But luckily Nii-sans only die to their otoutos (and soloers) ;U Chtullu really was a chip game for 'em, but considering, the boys and Elize were doing pretty well at it. Getting Teepo Vacuum to 1000 uses before this run paid off since it was one of few times they could just beat this down with some Power Combo damage. But bosses like this are why I'm glad Laurel Crowns and/or Elize exists. Least it wasn't Posion and Burn, then I'd REALLY hate my life. I admit I did think of your thumbnail at the time, though it helps I was trying to recall what was a decent shot of just Julius and remembered the talk with Milla. And then The Face and went, "yeah this works". Know the Nii-san face shall forever live in fame due to your antics. www

Rideaux made sure to train to Level 45 in the background so Ivar wasn't the only one flexing MAs here (although poor Ivar didn't get a single chance compared to Rideaux with his 2). Paid off, got to payback MA those two morons who shot MA lighting at 'em. Alas the missed book end to the Rideaux fights where we end it the same as before. But hey least it was still hilariously a Milla-Ludger link being his ultimate demise. Should've pinned Milla down instead of Jude; clearly there's a strong link--

Hey I'll take thanks any time cause good to know my pain was noted. Know me and the homies in VC were screeching when we saw that death zoom in. Losing Jude right at the end did sting, but Ludger was considered closer until Jude moved in and I'd rather lose Jude than risk Ludger Bored Switching into a death combo. And he did indeed Bored Switch as Jude died so honestly I'd say Jude's death wasn't in vain. Can't trust that boy to just sit there properly. No wonder Julius worries about him. lol

I did put on Last Stand for Luds since unless he chooses hammer, he's stuck at the HP he's at. Fingers at Gun Tutorial Ivar from ages ago, later revived because scary Victor man. Haven't taken it off since cause eh I'm gonna put it on soon enough anyway (coughs in bad end) and by now bosses require me to mostly go all in. The AI party rarely does use all its AC unless it's for spell/heal chains. My guess is it knows more spells used = faster casting, so it tries to get the maximum amount of hits it can. And heals are a priority where it'll keep trying as long as the target's HP hits is low enough. Why melee was an exception to this, alas we'll just never know.

Eh if there was SOME sort of way to control it, I would've probably suffered the gauntlet. But as is, screw it, Victor already ate my life away. Let's not make Chronos 3 double that only because of RNG LOL

Considering he is an existence so metaphysically gifted that not even he himself can TRULY perceive where he's located, I can think of no stronger being in Tales of canon than non-megane Julius.

Oh boy if this wasn't very much an experience I'd only recommend if you're ready for good runs to fall apart within seconds because of a combo/crit/Victor CSes mid-combo and Grand Cleavers someone. Wouldn't fault anyone for deciding THIS is the fight to use items on. Choosing this chapter to not have a single revival skill user tells me someone at Bamco wanted to see some tears. lol

It definitely felt good to never see his stupid hammer come out this attempt. Although we seemingly traded than for 2 more CSes which was scary but we did it lol

For a regular run, it'd help. Alas AI Ludger uses CS when he wants to. I can't tell him to lol

Oh believe me they hurt me every single time. Especially when he tends to chain multiple ones when he's low on health, basically resetting the last few minutes. But usually by then someone's down so it's really hard to stop. 'tis one of those things. The Xillia Dual MA is pretty good on damage, although the highest is definitely Ludger/Milla's. Too bad he died cause he Bored Switched, as usual. Though seeing the jank hitboxes was pretty funny www

Naahhhh, Psychic Restoration is a fair and balanced mechanic that the devs 100% thought through. Surely it doesn't mean a run can go on for another 10 minutes just because the game decides I suck. It's totally fair and I can guess every single time it happens cause it's 1000000% not just RNG.

It does indeed invite a certain amount of suffering that only Victor can produce lol

Sometimes I just let losses play out to see how this man dabs on whoever's left. That or he proves the power of edge will eventually outstubborn any HP bar. lol

I'm glad the spell lock got someone to smile; I sure was during it. lol Teepo had a great time sitting on the sidelines watching this nonsense (since Elize's AI will avoid casting if she notices the enemy absorbs Dark unless a Power Combo's active or someone MIGHT start one), though who can blame him? Seeing a true spamlord in their prime is unparalleled. I did worry when the drill absolutely nailed Elize post-Revive, but since it mostly missed Muzet I was confident she could cast Resurrect before HB slooowly walked over to kill her. And I was correct. Makes me wish every chapter had at least 2 Resurrection users after Chapter 10 since that's when bosses TRULY become fun houses (or just 1 so Victor didn't make me cry myself to sleep). But hey least for Elites I can bring who I want.

Oh it has been. lol Just gotta pray Chromatus doesn't kill someone or Victor burns it immediately by going Grand Cleaver into Form Destroyer (unless GC hits twice) on full health Ludger with his +HP Hammer on and he baaarely lives. Suffice to say both of those are VERY unlikely but damn if I won't hunker in and make it happen SOMEHOW-- Justknowitmiiighttakesomemoredays.

Believe me there was one run I wanted to win because people sleep on just how often Victor likes to Maihadare as well. Though alas it didn't even make it to Elle lol Know indeed Victor is no chill and about 80% of my runs has someone die within the first 20s. Not always wipes, but it's very, VERY rare I have everyone alive before CS goes down.

He's totally right cause there's two types of Victor runs: the ones that last about 30 seconds, and the ones that last over 10 minutes because someone died in the first 10 seconds but we keep going. We've SLOWLY made progress where we're beginning to semi-consistently get to Elle's dialogue (discounting runs like this that I'm powerless to stop lol), but we're still not there quite yet.

This take got pretty lucky with Rideaux wanting to use Dancing Bayonet as his finisher (1:21 is a perfect example) more often than not. Most failed runs lasted at MOST 90 seconds thanks to Rideaux bullying one person (usually Judelius) while the Agents pinned the others. Either that or the Agents join in and anyone not named Ludger (Last Stand helps him hold out) won't survive. Things MOSTLY calm down once they're gone, but Rideaux's wide attack range is still pretty scary since everyone here is at risk of getting hit when healing whoever's low. Rideaux's range is 100% why unlike my usual M.O., I let everyone but Ludger use their heal arte since Ludger's our damage sponge. But yee with tailored artesets and using the strategy menu to its fullest, the AI's only three unfixable flaws is they rarely use backstep or sidestep if they're not set on Protect Yourself (they do use guard though), they don't use above PC1, and everyone sans Leia likes to stay grounded even when they've got some aerial-enabled artes. Everything else is mainly up to learning how everyone behaves (like how unless set to Protect Yourself, the AI ALWAYS tries to heal anyone below 33% HP unless all heal artes are off). I'm glad I can make 'em look like a decently oiled machine. www I am a proud mom seeing Ludger use the Linked Mystic Arte to roast Rideaux. Makes me glad we died at least once as you can't turn on Milla M's Special/Linked Special without hitting retry first. Anything to save us from Rideaux deciding last second Judelius deserves 0 XP again. But I guess it's very in-character for him lol

AI Leia is more competent than you'd first think if she has the right set of artes enabled. Mainly stuck to ones with good aerial combo flow since her AI likes to fight off the ground, and it worked out until Papa Null Field says "no more of that, thanks". Unfortunate cause Odin's such a nice target for Leia cause of his size but not being TOO heavy to lift off the ground. Yeah, TP's beginning to bite for these chonkers even with 50% Arte Reduction on, especially at our level. The mobs actually ignored my Holy Bottles here-- sure setting a tone for what awaited. Been trying to hold back herbs unless a boss (coughVictorcough) kicks us in the shins enough to make it clear I just need to bend the knee. Luckily haven't had to yet, but I do have some TP Herbs waiting in the wings should it come to that. RIP AI Ludger trying to be cool indeed. Least my mortal enemy Burn finally killing not-me felt pretty nice personally.

Poor woman got taught why Bisley gives Ludger a hammer to congratulate his rise to VIP. Maybe he knew the day would come he needs to give his foes a smack on the butt-- I was hoping that too, but alas with how quick folks die, there's few chances to turn this into an absolute chaotic mess of friendly whacks and fires. But know I at least tried. lol Least we got the timeline where Ludger shows off that maybe the REAL thing to hate is the Kresniks whose super powers laugh off bullets, even if you're shot a good 50+ times (or however many bullets go off in Victor's animated scene).

I debated putting him off in fear of his ultimate power: forcing us to wait in anticipation for him to show up. And also his ladies with guns; spoils the fun of Spambot Rowens. NGL I should've moved the camera angle up so it looked closer to a top down view to play into that. Oh well, ideas always come AFTER you're done lol

1-2 Spell Spambot Rowen is a powerful tool as long as your melees can keep the enemy focused on them. And you're probably thinking of Omegaevolution whose winning strategy was Negative Gate + Squall Shot + Milla's Splash + Rowen's Fireball. Sadly can't quite replicate it without direct commands which kinda defeats everyone being on Auto Only www Oh it is, but luckily for me Mad Blaze/the roll isn't one of its counters. And with Rowen's spam either starting combos for the gang or hitting the counter trigger, we see Wild Voice/ground pound WAY more often. Both being preferable as long as Judelius isn't caught in both and can't heal Ludger or Milla in time before they get KO'd.

Probably cause it's glassesless Julius. Feels like a cardinal sin and thought it was a funny meme just for this. He'll be back in his pimp clothes or someone else after this lol
