run a bit of 100LL Avgas in the fuel. old bikes love lead. and if it were mine, I would empty the gas tank after every ride. I fought these old glass tanks for many years and finally gave up. even if you do a 100% perfect job, none of the sealers work forever. I owned probably 20 BSA bikes. Triumph, Bultaco, Husqvarna, Montessa too. Enfield in 1967, I didn't own a Japanese bike until about 15 years ago

Had this bike in Spain in ths 70's We were stationed at Torrejon Air base. Brother had a Puch. Friend had a Bultaco.

I bought a new 950 adventure in 2004, took it all over Europe from the UK several times, Awesome bike! I could be tempted by one again if a nice one turned up for sale! The suspsension is amazing!

Hello, those exhaust pipes don't look much like Triumph " Peashooter " pipes. They look more like " Dunstall Patented Silencers " exhaust pipes. AEW T - 201 pipes are " peashooter style for the Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor.

How nice it would have been to hear that fine engine without that shit music. That being said, I owned one of these for many years and drove it cross country several times. One day I put in 18 hours in the saddle. It is by far the best motorcycle I ever owned.

Great looking bike. There's one item I see that gets a thumbs up but is an obvious 'non-period correct' component choice. Shouldered Akronts were THE demon tweak upgrade at the time (late 1960's) I became tuned into the nuts and bolts of bikes. The tall shoulder was immediately visible and shouted 'trick'. They weighed so much less than the chrome plated steel rims and it was rotational mass (as opposed to static mass) so the performance advantage was double. Japanese knock-offs were the equivalent to anything bought from Temu today. Alloy and/or tempering of the aluminum used wasn't the same. Some were too highly tempered and would crack from hard hit and others were too soft and a day of riding in the desert would result in flat spots in the rims.

My girlfriend, kids and I went to a vintage motocross race in 1992 in Hollister, Ca. Dick Mann and Kay Mann let us take a picture of them. He was a great champion and man..

Also: I noticed at 8:24 that the rear valve stem is going crooked. Better air-down, reposition the inner tube, and double-check that the rim locks are aligned, tight and gripping properly.

Very intriguing bike, but.... no skid plate? No skid plate on a *trials* bike? Somebody wasn't using their noodle. I'd custom fabricate a decent skid plate before getting that rascal anywhere near rock.

Install luggage and go across the USA.

There's very little that beats the sound of a cammy 500 single.. Hours of fun to be had with that bike!

Also give some credit to Oscar winner and fellow Marine Lee Marvin, a veteran of 21 landings in the Pacific in WWII. On similar Triumph TR Trophy models, he and good buddy Keenan Wynn rode and raced alongside McQueen all over the South Western Desert as well.

Kind of a poor idea to be riding that sort of a trail without a skid plate installed. Definitely wouldn't want to be bashing-up the lower frame cradle tubes on a old classic. Also: the Works shocks on that bike are too tall as compared to the originals. This is going to skew the geometry and handling of the bike. Probably the reason the rear brake was left adjusted so loose, was to avoid binding etc from happening as a result of the improper length of the works shocks. Personally, I think it would be cool to make the bike a little more period-correct by refitting the original Bing carburetor; installing shocks with proper length and travel; finding a silencer with a more period look; and most of all --fabricating an effective skid plate. Just my 3 cents. Otherwise love the vintage content and nice video and editing work --kudos. BTW: I put many many miles on an original 1968 Husqvarna 360 Viking I used to own, and so I am fortunate to have a fair bit of personal experience with Husky bikes this era. Keep up the good work!
