Updated Marilyn Manson Tier List including One Assassination Under God
### *Portrait of an American Family* (1994)
Marilyn Manson's debut album, produced by Trent Reznor, introduces a dark, satirical critique of American culture with gritty, industrial-inspired rock. Tracks like "Lunchbox" and "Get Your Gunn" exemplify its raw energy and controversial themes. It marks the beginning of the band's provocative journey through shock rock.
### *Smells Like Children* (1995)
This EP expands on the sound and themes of the debut with remixes, covers, and experimental tracks, featuring the breakout hit "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)." The release solidified Manson's reputation for blending the grotesque and beautiful. Its chaotic, hallucinatory vibe is both disorienting and fascinating.
### *Antichrist Superstar* (1996)
A concept album and cultural turning point, *Antichrist Superstar* is a scathing critique of religion and societal control. Tracks like "The Beautiful People" brought Marilyn Manson mainstream fame, while the album’s theatrical aggression shocked audiences. Produced with Trent Reznor, it’s a defining work of industrial metal.
### *Mechanical Animals* (1998)
With glam rock influences, *Mechanical Animals* takes a more melodic and introspective approach, exploring themes of alienation and fame. Songs like "The Dope Show" showcased a shift in sound, embracing Bowie-esque aesthetics. It’s the second part of Manson’s conceptual trilogy, contrasting its predecessor's chaos with a detached elegance.
### *Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)* (2000)
This album delves into themes of media, violence, and martyrdom, completing the trilogy started with *Antichrist Superstar*. Tracks like "The Fight Song" and "Disposable Teens" mix biting commentary with explosive energy. The project balances industrial grit with hauntingly poetic storytelling.
### *The Golden Age of Grotesque* (2003)
Inspired by the decadence of 1930s Berlin, this album channels burlesque and cabaret into its industrial-metal framework. Songs like "mOBSCENE" and "This Is the New Shit" are brash, theatrical, and unapologetically over-the-top. It marked a departure from heavier conceptual themes to focus on excess and rebellion.
### *Eat Me, Drink Me* (2007)
A deeply personal album, *Eat Me, Drink Me* shifts towards a more gothic and introspective sound, reflecting Manson’s emotional turmoil. Tracks like "Heart-Shaped Glasses" and "Putting Holes in Happiness" explore love, loss, and self-destruction. The stripped-back production emphasizes vulnerability over shock.
### *The High End of Low* (2009)
This record revisits darker tones and themes of self-destruction, drawing on Manson's struggles and fractured relationships. Songs like "Arma-Goddamn-Motherfuckin-Geddon" and "Leave a Scar" combine raw aggression with reflective undertones. Its sprawling tracklist offers moments of both fury and melancholy.
### *Born Villain* (2012)
Returning to a heavier industrial sound, *Born Villain* incorporates influences from early Manson works while exploring new lyrical depths. Tracks like "No Reflection" reflect themes of transformation and resilience. The album’s aggressive aesthetic marked a creative resurgence for the band.
### *The Pale Emperor* (2015)
Fusing blues-rock with Manson’s industrial roots, *The Pale Emperor* is a mature, stripped-down exploration of mortality and identity. Songs like "Deep Six" and "Third Day of a Seven Day Binge" showcase a refined, hauntingly atmospheric sound. It’s widely regarded as a career renaissance.
### *Heaven Upside Down* (2017)
A continuation of the themes in *The Pale Emperor*, this album brings a sharper, angrier edge to its sound. Tracks like "KILL4ME" and "We Know Where You F***ing Live" fuse aggression with melodic experimentation. It balances classic Manson provocation with modern relevance.
### *We Are Chaos* (2020)
Produced by Shooter Jennings, *We Are Chaos* blends gothic rock with introspective, melodic songwriting. Its title track and songs like "Don't Chase the Dead" explore vulnerability and societal disarray. The album is a contemplative evolution of Manson's artistic identity.

EMOTIONAL - Journey's STEVE PERRY duet with Father
Переглядів 1,7 тис.12 годин тому
Steve Perry's expanded *The Season* album reaches an emotional high point with a duet featuring his late father. “My father, Ray Perry, was a singer, and when I was a child, he would sing to me at bedtime,” Perry shared in a statement. “I recently found a karaoke cassette my dad sent me in 1993 for Christmas. The song that moved me most was ‘Call Me Irresponsible.’ His voice was lovely, but the...

How can you ask that question with a straight face?
NNNNnnnoooo
More popular than Pink Floyd? You must be smokin dope!!!! She is a washed up puke. 😂
Fck no,I’ve been a fan of Pink Floyd since 1973 and she maybe talented but come on no way she’s going to get close to the “Wall” especially with “Comfortably Numb”and it’s solo guitar..🎸
i just pretend that We Are Chaos and Eat me, Drink me don't exist. those albums are so awful IMO. the only thing i like about either of those two albums is the song Evidence. Other than that, nope. AntiChrist is perfection....every song. Holywood is a close 2nd.
uh, that's not what stank face is.
I aw her a weeks ago in concert, was amazing, sometimes she seems over qualifiated for the band
lol this girl isn’t going anywhere. SP is her new home. What a perfect fit ❤
I'd swap Wish (classic) with Songs of a Lost World (great), and agree with everything else.
Your picks for "Classic" would be mine as well. My entrance was an EP that was released in the GDR and that contained 4 tracks from The Head On The Door. My real entrance later was Kiss Me. And my first CD that I bought after the reunion of Germany was Disintegration. For me, the Trilogy alongside with Head and Songs Of The Lost World are the picks from my end.
Thank you for sharing your CURE EXPERIENCE. It's cool to have so many life memories associated with the band.
This song with his Father is emotional & magical , and I'm so glad he got the chance to fulfill his dream and sing with his Father,, grateful for him sharing his heart and memories with us all ❤️❤️
Steve Perry is a good dude
Healing
That song along with Steve's and his Dad's voices brought tears to my eyes. It must have been very emotional for him to sing it; as well as rewarding.
Yes and yes.
Everyday life is probably one of my favorite albums I’m so glad someone appreciates it as much as I do
Thanks for chiming in with that. I really feel like Chris gathered the troops and said, "Here's EVERY good idea we have left .. Let's blow it all on one album and then go full on POP!"
You should have mentioned "push" from "head on the door". Excellent Popsong. Otherwise I agree more or less with your evaluation.
Unpopular opinion I think Kiss me kiss me kiss me is bloated and needs less tracks. Not essential for me, maybe great, definitely good.
Kinda my take, too, in a way. Could have one really amazing single album with the right track selection.
Dissing on Wild Mood Swings will not be tolerated
I shall swear off of dissing WMS, at least until the end of the year. K?
This or Powerline were the ONLY acceptable answers for me. ❤
Sure, Powerline would work, but EVERYONE knows the Muppets. I'm sure the higher ups at Disney did a lot of research before landing on a choice - it's what they do....
1. Songs of a lost world ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ + ⭐️ = ✨️👑✨️ 2. Pornography 3. Faith 4. Desintegration 5. Seventeen Seconds 6. .... 14. Wild mood swings
SOMEONE is really impressed with SOALW!
And by the way, you could also have mentioned the Glove album with Severin from Siouxsie band. Some songs are really sketches for forthcoming The Top album and even Head on the door.
Leaving out THE GLOVE was a deliberate choice as was not mentioning Robert's collabs with Crystal Castles, CHVRCHES etc ... But I will admit that I didn't think of the Glove as being a precursor to THE TOP. Good Point. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.
okay twenty one pilots is CRAZY you needa listen to jumpsuit its better
I believe TOP have their moments. Was better earlier than later IMO.....
hybrid theory and meteora are one of the best albums in history, nothing beats those crunchy sounds. even thought i believe an artist should innovate their sound and so on, i still wish they made something like their first 2 albums. theyre magic
The Hunting Party sounds just like them ngl
Yeah, I can't imagine someone who really prefers the first two albums would think poorly of THE HUNTING PARTY. That I don't get.
Thank you so much for this review - and thanks for the way you present the ranking! One thing also about the CD version that is not much mentioned. It consist of 3 cds, and one being an instrumental version of the record. Regards, from Iceland
Thanks for the info!
Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is the Cure's equivalent of The Clash's Sandanista, in terms of the sprawling breadth of musicality and sheer number of tracks.
One could definitely make that argument. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I disagree with Head on the Door as classic, the album is just too poppy for me.
I think that since I started from a pretty balanced starting point, I'm pretty cool with The Cure's brand of 'pop'.
Sorry. but I don't agree with Mild Mood Swings.
You don't need to be sorry.... I still think you're cool
Already sold out!
NOT Awesome, I know
Not enough love for Kiss Me
I gave it a LOT of love in 87, that's for sure. Thanks for commenting.
Can you rank Siouxsie and the Banshees albums 😢
Yes, before the end of the year, I will.
Gosto muito do estiveperre
I feels like you are rating episodes in my life. 😂 Anyway, for me seventeen seconds (my favorite winter album) and Faith are classic albums and Blood Flowers is great. I also should rate "The Top" as good and Songs of a Lost World as great. But I agree with the rest. I also don't care about the remixes and some compilations and live albums. Can you do the same with Siouxsie & the Banshees albums? For me Tinderbox is a classic for sure.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. 'Episodes in my Life' - cool. Siouxsie and the Banshees before the end of the year, yes..
Only a stupid biotrash in a cap can put Bloodflofers in the rank of legendary albums. Sit and watch Metallica, you fucking moron
Anybody like that song ‘The same deep water’ from disintegration. Love that and I guess I am fairly alone in that. Oops got to the beginning and shockingly found “my” song high on your list! I feel a part of the universe once again! 😊
Steve Perry can make the song. Love Steve and see he is back. ❤🎶🎶🎶🎶💯
You forget ...Trilogy, masterpiece concert.
GREAT show, but like 'in Orange', it was only released on home video formats, and not on CD/LP/cassette.
I'm loving the new album. The fact that it's faithful to The Cure mystic, Roberts voice sounds perfect, nos signs of eldering, productionwise sounds modern, up to date, but reminds me of the best days of the band. It's direct and wildly sincere to Roberts feelings.
All Cats Are Grey Drowning Man The Upstairs Room Lament. Dressing Up. Lullaby. A Fragile Thing A Strange Day.
If I had made a top 50 or 60 list, a few of those would have been on the list? Should I make another video? 41-60?
@@NOTIMETOROCK Yes please! 🥳
Not a fan of Disintegration, simply boring.
Wow
Concert was released on CD here in the UK.
Bloodflower great and not classic in my opinion but i agree for the most part :)
There are a lot of great songs in the list and Fascination street is probably the best song ever by The Cure. But for me, masterpieces like "cold", "drownig man", "world war" and above all "faith" are missing. Definitely a nice video!❤
Nice choice - "Deep Green Sea" and "A Night Like This" would be in my Top 40, too. But "Forest" on 28 ? Come on, man, you're joking, aren't you ?
Nope, something about that one is just great to me .. not sure if I can put a finger on it exactly
@NOTIMETOROCK I meant O N L Y on 28 😀 "Forest" is my absolute favourite Cure-Song, an atmospheric Masterpiece.
I love The Top. I’m not a massive fan of Wish. Probably in the minority on that one lol. Best albums for me are 17 Seconds. Faith. Pornography. Disintegration. Bloodflowers. Songs Of A Lost World is catching up with their best work for me too.
Check out my Top 40 tracks ranking ... ua-cam.com/video/8J0LkTQPbwM/v-deo.html
Sorry to see Breathe, A chain of flowers, Harold and Joe didn't make the cut.
good tunes, especially Harold and Joe
Hugs from Brazil 🎉
I personally exclude from this list: why cant i be you friday i'm in love, close to me, catch, the walk let's go to bed I really never liked them. Some other you choose are good, but IMHO you forgot too many better songs (here in order by LP) three imaginary boys M Play for today secrets seventeen seconds the holy hour all cats ar gray the drowning man faith siamese twins the figurehead a strange day cold lament (the only really good track from japanese whispers) the top all i want prayers for rain disintegration untitled
I agree with several of your 'bonus cuts'
Great list. ALTHOUGH I was hoping “Disintegration” would be #1… didn’t even make the list! 🤯
Same haha
Yeh shows the weakness of this list, Alone should be in the top 10!
Cats
