Testimony Series - Doors Only God Could Open
Episode 108 - Testimony Series - Doors Only God Could Open
This episode is a part of our December Testimony series. A series of short testimonies of times that God showed up upon set or in ways related to the film-industry.
In this episode, Hannah Benson, a writer, actress, and content marketer, shares her journey. Raised in a creative, homeschooling family, Hannah recounts how her passion for faith-based films, like Courageous and Fireproof, stemmed from a young age. She sees her career as a testament to God's guidance and faithfulness, encouraging others to pursue their God-given dreams and remember the prayers God has answered.
Bio:
Hannah Benson is a writer, actress, and content marketer with a passion for telling stories glorifying God through film and the written word. As a writer, her work can be found in publications including The Rebelution, Her View From Home, and Inside Out Worldwide. Under the mentorship and guidance of George Escobar - Co-Producer, Co-Writer, and Co-Director of the feature film, "Alone Yet Not Alone"(Academy-Award nominated for Best Original Song), Hannah has written two novels and is currently pursuing publication. As an actor, she has portrayed a variety of onstage roles (including one which required her to learn an Indian accent). When she was 18 years old, Hannah auditioned for and landed a role in her first short film! "Long Sleeves" by Storm Storytelling went on to receive an award and garnered views on UA-cam of 718K and climbing. More recently, she served as a grip and as a background actor on the set of the concept trailer for an upcoming feature film. Hannah also served on the marketing team for the Great American Prayer Event, working alongside former Senator and father of the Erwin Brothers, Hank Erwin; and George Escobar.

Great interview!🙏🏽😊
So glad you found it helpful!
I just came across your podcast. I'm a Christian who has written a novel I'm wanting to get involved in the Christian film space but don't know where to start. So hearing your guest is a blessing. Thanks
Hey, So glad you found it helpful. Perhaps a good place to start would be to check out the Faith and Family Filmmakers Association www.faffassociation.com/
This sounds great! I am very interested. I'm going to contact you.
Great! We'd love to hear from you!
Already studied 3 of these - STC, Screenwriters Bible, Bob Saenz ... looking forward to yours and others now!
I just got your book in the mail! I plan on reading it next after I finish the book I am in. Also, I just finished Alexandra's book too. I liked it a lot!
Wonderful!! You're a go-getter!
Wow I love how a married lady and a mother of two balance marriage, serving God and having a great productivity in filmmaking ❤ Love you ma'am
Amen!!!
God bless Laura Mae & family!!!
Subtext is huge!
Great interview! Stephanie is part of our OPEN MIKE sitcom that’s currently in the Crowdfunding phase.
Stephanie Parker is stellar!!
Amen!!! Story is key!!
Great interview!!
I started as an actor, too, and both my wife & I have a Toyota Corolla!! 😄
I can relate to the household dynamic of When is he working? and putting a sign on the door. 🤣
*PromoSM* 🤦
Great podcast! It encourages me to be thoughtful on what my movie scripts are like, and how to go about getting them produced (Eventually, when I finish writing them!). Also encourages me to BE a finisher! I looked Alexandra's movies up right after listening to this, and oh my goodness, not even 5 minutes into the movie, and I'm loving the role of the mom on Switched so far! Cassandra has a heartfelt conversation with her mom--not just complaining, but actually talking and listening to each other, but is comfortable sharing her real feelings. What a wonderful positive example for moms and daughters!!
love it!
