Seasons 1-2 were great. Then they decided to go the TWD and GoT route, and all hell broke loose with soap opera-level evil villains, schemes, and shocking deaths just for the sake of it.

Dumbest plots for this character ever… it makes ZERO sense Bohannen would let him live after he killed Lily. Look at all he Was allows to get away with, like he was some magical, killing ghost. Additionally, it was as if his creepy, weird ass somehow fooled everyone around him, and he manipulated all these people, yet any idiot would see right through his sadistic ass. Most annoying character allowed to get away with, literally, serial killer numbers of murdered without any recourse at all. Just a stupid plot

I didn't put captain pike as hell on wheels dude, I might get into this show , just don't have much of a stomach for the whole north/south war, bad times not wanting to relive, I'm in for the better times when it comes to what I watch

I love this scene but sadly bohannon would've killed him after he asked about his wife(that man is the man who ordered her death and his Childs death). Yes it is for the plot and all, but given bohannons demeanor he would've gutted everyman at the table at that exact moment he finished his sentence that she was dead. Yes I watched the whole show(multiple times) and I loved it, but bohannon is a killer with a conscious, conscious is tied to emotions which makes you predictable. Unpredictability comes when the human mind/body is emotionless and calm, in a personal matter like the murder of a child and wife you are wat too emotionally evolved to be thinking rationally or calmly. You need to be emotionally sound, almost emotionless or have that insanely rare brain of a psychopath to be methodical and efficient when that close emotionally to the victim. He would've jumped the table and killed everyone there for the emotionally damage it would've unleashed into his brain.

This guy really impressed me. He came from a lot of directions. As an accountant, man, I don't think I'd want him to do my numbers. He's very Frankensteinian. Some scenes are indelible.

What an actor damn legend

One thing I always liked about Christopher Heyerdahl's performance here is that, despite his character speaking with a heavy Norwegian accent, he still uses an informal Western vernacular. "Make them numbers add up." "You gonna hang." It's a subtle but really cool indicator of his humble origins as an immigrant. Rather than learning to speak a more "proper" type of English in a university setting, he probably picked up the language by interacting with everyday American commoners. Hence his more casual Western/Southwestern dialect.

The closed captions are hilarious "I got AIDS, I got coffee..."

This show is lazy writing at its best.almost all the main characters were real people back in the fantasy world of the old west.this guy was probably based off of a real man.jim the deacon miller or killer miller.

Before we had Lalo Salamanca we go this man he's top tier evil next to Walt, and Gus.

A bit of a spoiler but my favorite scene is when hes getting hanged his last words are "I am norwegian" and the subtitles immediately say swede choking. Even the subtitle people didn't like him.

I like the show and the Swede character, but I do believe they stretched his story out to the point where it got a bit thin. I wouldn’t have minded a showdown between him and Bohannon mid way through the show, and then a new ‘villain’ introduced.

Funny how The Swede always keeps telling people that he's Norwegian, but his accent is closer to Swedish. Swedish with a bit of actor fakery thrown in. I know the sound because I live here in Finland among them Swede ex-pats.

John brown got hung and deserved his hanging. The confederates lost the war and slavery is evil, and the hero deified like Lincoln he might be for now, soon he will be remembered as a rebel rouser who instigated the bloodied conflict in American history.
