Thnaks for posting. Wonder if anyone knows an alternative but easier or rather a more handy method to detach the motor casing after thinning the glue
U broken ihm...
Hi. Just checking if this did the job. I need to do a similar repair.
Hi @gabzilla8316, the polymarble base is solid all they way through hence don't get it confused with an acrylic shower base, that said, PC-11 is the product I used for this temporary fix which came from Bunnings in Australia. Wherever you are located just type into Google search for PC-11 and it will come up with available locations. Product originates out of the USA and I expect Protective Coating Company products are available globally. At this stage it is doing the job but as noted it is a temporary fix, not a long-term solution to the problem. The crack was enlarged with a Dremel tool grinding bit followed after with a Dremel "562" tile cutting bit to enlarge the crack depth for the PC-11 to get a solid join. Hope this helps. Cheers, James
@@JamesEllis-qd1kp thanks for this. Does that mean you wouldn’t recommend it for an acrylic shower base?… Presumably because the base isn’t sufficiently supported under? (I’ve seen some people drill holes and put expanding foam under to add extra support so thinking of giving that a go for my temp repair!ps. I’m Aus based.
Hi @@gabzilla8316, yes, acrylic base to be fully supported and then using PC-11 or an acrylic resin in the cracked area, that said, you would need to make sure the support material doesn't get eaten away (react) with the crack repair material. Hope the temporary fix goes well. Cheers, James
Great job. I just repaired my WD3. What kind of glue can be used so that can be disassembled again?
Hi, I used "PVC Pipe Cement", same product as used in general plumbing work for gluing non pressurised PVC pipework. Cheers, James
That motors knackered
LOL, maybe so, but still working as at June 2024, go figure.
@@JamesEllis-qd1kp fair enough mate I’m just saying it’s not supposed to sound like that whatsoever lol eh if it works it works I have a old metal numatic nv250 from 1987 that’s nearly 40 going strong
@@Mr_D2_1004N Got my vote, screaming motor and I did ask if it sounded like this before it broke and the answer was "yes", I did recommend to the owner to invest in a filter to avoid overheating from the dust/debris clogging the internal fans as was the case when I pulled it apart which I suspect was the cause of the meltdown....or maybe the meltdown was from spinning at Mach 1, 2 or 3...LOL
@@JamesEllis-qd1kp yeah that’ll most likely be the case either that or the fan rubbing on the fan case which can happen sometimes
Nice work with the dandruff cowl. :) See its not that high above your roofline...does it draw O.K.?
Hi Steve, draw is good and much better than previous unit which I could not even get the wood heater to fire up on windy days due to downdraft. The flue is just above the roofline of the pergola which is 5 metres wide and the corrugated roof has corrugated foam seal infill at the ends which help to stem any smoke ingress. Cheers James.
@@JamesEllis-qd1kp Nice tip. thanks will look to do the same.
Should have moved the gate
Nicely done great tips
Many thanks, Cheers.

Yes, but not as good as a later GMC model which has a larger degree of angle on the outlet chute with no bunching up of cut branches in the chute. Cheers, James.
What is the screw size?
Hi @benkinator , no idea of the screw size. I simply removed the screws in the unit and then put them back in the same locations in the re-assembly. Cheers James.
