I remember getting this LP and 12” single in 1980. The entire album is great without a bad track on it. I also remember her disco version of Stormy Weather, which was also great. So many memories of back in the day 😢😢❤❤❤

First time i heard the true original demo was on a hilversum radio station, dunno the name anymore but they used the phrase "the big 102" in their jingles, that version was a tad bit faster and imho more enjoyable as it was a lil rougher in its shape.

Great take on great song, never thought I would like, but it's as good as Gordon's.
The first time I heard this song , I was shopping in a iGA and it’s a cerebral song, I’m in the store just walking along with my friends and we are all shopping in different aisles and the song got in our heads and by the time we all noticed it we were singing and dancing in the group and laughing at how the song started a party in the grocery store and the song was stuck in our heads from that moment on and I still laugh about it all the time, and we were not the only ones dancing in the groove at the same time!!

I know this won't be popular based on most of the comments I see here. This isn't a dance tune ! I hate when a great song is given the disco sound just for mirror ball and roller rinks sake. The lyrics to this song are so moving, genuine and heart felt, that putting a beat like this to it just makes it lose everything beautiful about it.
