Hey. I absolutely love this it's amazing. One thing to keep in mind since I used to use musescore is that it slurs literally everything so if you are ever looking for people to actually perform it (which you should since these are awesome!) make sure to add those slurs. It is very annoying but I use sibelius so it doesn't make everything legato. Just to keep in mind :)
Hey! I've found your account today and I've listened to quite a few of the pieces on it now. I like how considerate of the players you tend to be, it's all within comfortable ranges for the instrument and there's not a lot of difficult movements. Lots of people in popular music don't really consider that. I mean, the fairly strict diatonicism, the wandering melodic structure, the types of percussion used, and especially the ease of playing, it all screams marching band to me! In particular, high school marching band, if I had to guess. Am I on to something or nah?
I was in marching band in high school, but I was also in a concert band, 2 big bands, and a few orchestral settings as well! I honestly don't think about my writing in theory terms. It's all just whatever sounds good to me in the style I'm writing (which means a lot of diatonic stuff). My ease of playing is intentional as well, because I have friends and fans that want to play the music I write. I don't see the point in making music if it can't be enjoyed. Tl;dr - No, not really. I write pieces that anyone can play on purpose
You're right I do love your music more than you do! Love the full score thing. Sounds like a theme from some big-ass western - gazing over canyon lands
Now I tend to like your stuff even before I listen! Lovely medieval vibe on the Oboe melody underpinned by the querrelous bickering of the Clarinet and Bassoon which drives everything forward. Can I make a suggestion? You could repeat the first part again at the end, I was ready to hear it all come back in, but then if you did you would have to end it differently to keep the same oh wow surprise I got at the end.
@@ash1theprincess Actually yes. The author is always self critical, whereas I have no expectations- not true, I have the expectation that I will like whatever you do!
This is quite simply gorgeous. I feel a bit weary saying this (s I don't want you to think I am comparing you) but I am a huge Michael Nyman fan and while this does not sound like him I had a strong feel of the Draughtman's Contract while listening- stately Purcellian measures and lush horns (as always). You should be massive.
@@ash1theprincess I am so glad you took the compliment as intended. I did not know Danny DiVito played piano, but then look at Dudley Moore, you tend to think people are just good at what they are famous for, whereas that is probably far from the truth.
Two questions. 1. What program do you use? I use MuseScore and never get sounds this beautiful! 2. Is it alright if I use this as long as I credit it? It sounds really neat, and I wanted to use it in the background of some of my videos for in the future! Again, this sounds really nice, and I'm excited for your future!
1. I use Musescore 4 and all the new sounds packs! I also use some tricks to achieve a more polished finish, like in this case I dropped all the dynamics down by 2, exported the audio, brought them all back up for the actual score, then raised the volume in editing 2. I see no harm in it, as long as it's not the main focus of the video and I'm credited properly!
@@CQuickster87 Yep!! Musesounds are amazing. Genuinely better than anything I've used and musescire only gets better with age because it's open-source!!
Loved the melody for this one!
Big-assed anthem
Did you use musescore?
youtube recommended, thank you for recommending yet another banger
Brilliant
Lovely- a stately procession
7/8. Groovy!

Like an incidental piece from a black and white romantic film- where one of them walks away
I always look forward to hearing a new piece/post. Lovely build up between the instruments and the flute melody is the icing on the cake

Hey could you possibly make this into a sax quartet?
Yes bro that would be amazing
great use of time signatures and lovely phrasing.
This sounds like something I'd have on my playlist
Amazing as always!

I did, just without the oboe! Wanted to let the bassoon and clarinet quarrel to the end
@@ash1theprincess See, and that is why you are the composer and I am not!
Wonderful melody over the complex synocpated (?) rhythm. Really, I am running out of ways to say how beautifully you compose.
At this point, you like my content more than I do lmao

This is great. Is it MuseScore and Musesunds you are using?
Yep!
Bassoon was nice ❤
Lovely. Short and very sweet and the ending fanfare... wow
love your use of horns. They really strike a chord- very emotional. Beautiful composition
Thank you!! I love writing all the blue notes into alto part for chamber stuff, because it always adds a warm quality and a complexity to the chords

@TSFVoidedXP it's musescore new sounds you download from musehub. I also recently realised that MS basic and muse sound are different things🤣
