YOu guys planning on doing more A24 films

Did you guys have any more animation movie to talk about?

You cried because you thought you were supposed to like it? And now you don't like it because of your independent critical analysis? How about you had an genuine and honest emotional reaction to a powerful piece of cinema the first time, and now you don't like it because you've worked yourself up into believing the film is poor in unison with the many modern opinions turning against it for being problematic. You didn't like it originally because people told you it was good, but you definitely don't like it now because people are telling you it's bad.

Was hoping you guys would have a different take, but alas it's the typical and tired Letterboxd critic Gump Slander. Yawwwn.

Will you guys be doing any Studio Ghibli films

Fun chat. I was blown away when this came out. I would actually recommend giving Men a watch. I mean, I'm not in a hurry to watch it again because of its heaviness, but it's definitely interesting. I'm really kinda bummed that the knee-jerk critics discouraged so many from checking it out. Garland talks about how he never intended it to speak to women about men, but for men to view it and see in it their own toxic behaviors (especially those Nice Guys). But I think the most valuable thing that he did in Men is the cosmic horror psychedelic mind-F of an ending. Basically, you gotta see it, even if you don't care for it, it's weird and worth talking about. I'm kinda curious if a different female lead would have made a difference for Men. I think she did great and I assume that's what was asked of her, but it was such an uncharismatic performance that I think it was a harder watch

Awww very sweet. It reminds me of the opening of eat, pray, love when she’s telling the story of how refugees get the chance to talk to a psychologist, and instead of talking about their traumatic lives they want to talk about people, relationships, and their feelings :) beautifully put together!! And stellar taste in music!
