I'm from Johannesburg and I recently moved to Auckland. Made this video to help South Africans integrate better into New Zealand. All footage filmed with my Samsung at actual places I went to. Zero stock video footage. All authentic. All real. Hope you enjoy. Here's my video for electricians: ua-cam.com/video/RSDMN79u0as/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SamJensen Here's another video where I compare SA vs...

would like to point out that we have a beach in New Zealand that in between low and high tides you can dig a hole in the sand and create your own hot pool - Hot Water Beach, North Island.
cool video sam!
Thanks!
We also call NZ Godzone. Its like eden lol.
wow, can't believe The Family BAr is still there lol. It was a ghost town about five years ago haha
Jandals - Japanese Sandals :D
Absolutely stunning would like to to go stay there❤
When you mentioned Māori you showed a clip of Samoans dancing 😂
Yes. I'm aware they aren't Maori. The point was about respecting pacific Island culture. But well spotted!
@@samjensen9795 thanks man. Just making sure
Lots of facts + lots of laughs = BRILIANT!!
Thanks Richard!
We can't get fresh fish ANYWHERE in SA these days, only in the Cape. All the fish n chip shops in KZN have closed. I was born and bred in CT and often hungry for a really nice piece of fish
I think fish n chips shops need a lot of power to run the freezers, and deep fryers. Maybe closed because of Eskom?
@@samjensen9795 no, I think its all the pollution in the Indian ocean east coast side - no fresh fish other than in the Cape. I've noticed even the quality of the boxed frozen fish we get is not good. I actually don't know
Unfair today Sam, SA is stuffed these days 😢 I'm stuck here in KZN. Rather be where you are in NZ in spite of the sandflies!!!
Sending love ❤️
Like your sense of humour 😂 It would give SAns a kick if you did food price comparisons .😊
@@samjensen9795 thanks for the mention , but who's Dylan ?
I meant Gerrad. Sorry got confused haha. You were Gerrad 7 up, now you're gerrad_b. ?
@@samjensen9795 keep up the good work bru , I just subbed 😉
How does the health system work in NZ? In SA we have private hospitals (generally very good but obviously expensive) and state hospitals (generally poor). I have relatives in Canada and they have NHS. Apparently the quality is no way close to SA's private hospitals but much better than SA's state hospitals.
You forgot wildlife: SA 50 - NZ 5. You can give an extra 30 points to NZ for transport though, it's terrible in SA.
This is true
Ok let’s help you out, let’s start in the 1890s when the Transvaal was a country it was THE richest country in the world. So mining has declined. Try this a bit sacrilegious but worth it put a really good Boerie in the air fryer. It retains all the juices. Fantastic! Capsicum is the correct scientific name for a green pepper. Capsicum is the genus with many different species. The score should be horribly skewed to New Zealand for now. For now if we just take more pride in our public spaces.
Thanks for the comments. You saying I must make a video where I do stuff with an air fryer? Not a huge fan of air fryers lol. But could be entertaining lol
@@samjensen9795 I was saying it’s the juiciest boerie ever as it browns on the outside but retains all the moisture. It was just a comment on boerewors.
@@brad7836 sounds kinda good :-)
South Africa lost because of its bad government
Very good content lol how expensive is property in Newzealand and how can u get a cheap property there
16:41 I displayed your comment. 5:03 I talked a bit about rent being expensive. Although I didn't talk much about buying property, I believe buying property is very expensive too.
@@samjensen9795 thank u
If you are buying in the biggest city in New Zealand it is very expensive, but smaller cities/towns re way more reasonably priced
lol good video well done bro
Thanks Dean

Ek dink eerder dat die puplik nie na SA toe kom nie want dit is ',n koministies land en die mense words hier vermoor en die buiteland moet nie hier belle.
Australian wages are better thats why people go, most end up coming home after working there for a few years.
Sarcasm is the lowest form of Witt. So the New Zealanders get it
As what ????
Great Video mate im from Auckland too, im currently in Melbourne and typed in Electrician on job seek and the base rate is $50+ per hour plus other benefits, super visors rolls at $70+ per hour now im thinking of becoming a sparky 😂😂
Good career choice!
Hi, im a south african trying to move to NZ as a licenced electrician, i will like to know the process of ewrb in order to convert my south african wiremans licence to NZ licence, is there a physical assessment that i need to somewhere or is is just a matter of uploading documents to convert? Any assistance will be much appreciated. Thanks
Hi. First you need an immigration advisor to help with the entire immigration process. Then register with the EWRB. When you get employed you will get a limited license. On that it will list what all you need for the full license. Good luck.
@@samjensen9795 thanks for your assistance much appreciated
@@samjensen9795 Hi, just want to find out after application to ewbr and obtaining the limited licence, what is the process of getting a full licence, what steps and is there any exam or test required, thanks again for your help
You will need to do more hours with the NZ company. 500 hours min. Maybe up to 4000 hours. And do more practical Course work. And do regulations, which they call Regz.
Hope you are happy there, it is all about attitude. Happy living 😊🇦🇺
Am South African and am satisfied to stay in Capetown
Fattening..heart attack food 😅
Haha, Cecilia, you actually gave me the idea to talk more about FOOD in my latest videoua-cam.com/video/ZIOeVzyh5tA/v-deo.html , as I thought your comment was important. Thanks again!
It's odd they don't like sarcasm yet they use it against Oz 😂
go Sam
Hi Sam. I'm from Sri Lanka. I'm a refinery electrician.I had passed the EWRB asssesment and looking forward to obtain the limited licence but in every job ad (seek, indeed etc) they ask about the work rights for NZ😔. Why don't they offer visa sponsorship for overseas applicants? Even general electrician role in the green list. I cant get any kind of visa without a job offer. I'm so frustrated. Why EWRB let do the assessment for overseas applicants? I feel some kind of discrimination in this regard. Please give some advice.
Hi. It is a difficult process. I can relate. But companies don't really give sponsorships. The best advice is to hire an immigration attorney to assist with this complicated process. Everyone who immigrates uses one. Hope it works out.
No ANC… sign me up
When you say cars are cheap - how many rands?
Thnx for the info....how can i contact you for more info...i got ewrb and im in SA
I like the no snake part.
Stay back in SA. WE DON'T NEED YOU HERE MATE!!😂
How's the racism? Does New Zealanders treat people of color better than those apartheid days?
Thank you for sharing useful information!! Did you have a limited certificated first? and then looking for a job with it? I have few more questions.. How can I contact you? I need some advice.

Hi Sam It's me Richard from Johannesburg South Africa I hope that you can help me I'm a qualified Motor Mechanic with a Red Seal Certificate and I'm planning to immigrate there do I need to go through courses though I'm qualified and get a job there DO you perhaps know how can I look it up for a more explanation just like you did on your video
Mechanics are on the green list. You need an immigration lawyer and they'll help you further.
Hi Sam It's me again Richard I want to ask you wouldn't perhaps know how much does a Motor Mechanic get paid in New Zealand
Thank you so much for getting back to me I really appreciate it
Been here twenty years....wouldn't do it again. Paid too high a price ito many aspects.
So why you still here??
@@edjohn4590 Die prys is klaar betaal.
I been here 16 years and some change. No where else I would rather be despite its little problems. I did enjoy your video though, much more entertaining than most Saffers that try make videos.
There doesn't seem much reason to move from our beautiful country apart from the pies...in fact it sounds really boring
Thanks for the video, it is very informative and covers relavent topics.
How to get there
N we honest n hardworking.
Well said. This is home❤
