I think I have a blackberry virus :(

also possibly Witch's Broom? I'm seeing all of these symptoms on my blackberries, ever since getting an order in from eBay smallfruits.org/2024/04/identifying-the-vector-of-blackberry-leaf-mottle-virus/
Marionberry cane mutation - thornlessness
Переглядів 196Місяць тому
I cut the tips of my marionberry vines, and when they branched out to continue growing, three of them had some kind of mutation that made them thornless for a few nodes. The leaves are also shaped very differently on these nodes as well. I wonder if I should try air layering a couple of these mutated nodes to see if the mutation will follow?

That’s cool. If that propagates that might be worth some money. My Marion’s still haven’t flowered and it’s been 2 years
I have had this occur and thought about doing a video on it it is a almost thornless strain so if the plant is completely healthy and undamaged it will produce extremely less thorns on new growth but if u constantly damage the plant the new growth forms alot more thorns
Another example of this is the Brandywine raspberry
Hi, I believe there has been a number of Thornless sport mutations in Marionberry but very few or only one, has had the same productivity and quality of berry as the thorny original. You may be lucky but the odds are not with you. Once you get fruit please post another video.
at this point I don't even know if the thornlessness would follow if I air layered those nodes
Dope!
Hi Kitty HI Kitty Hi Kitty! Michael! amazing garden you have going there, saw your other answer about seeing which ones thrive best, so smart! I am going to be developing more mounds in my garden but reason totally different. It's because we've had such intense downpours, with garden flooding much worse than ever before, so in order to get plants up elevated. I admire your focus on just berries? nothing else like tomatoes or ?
Hi Karen! I do have some tomatoes as well, I do like them so I will probably always grow a few varieties every year, but for some reason I'm obsessed with blackberries so that's really what I want the most of. Since I don't have a huge backyard, need to maximize my happiness-to-space ratio for every plant. It was actually for that reason that I dumped most of my strawberry plants - they did make me happy, but not compared to the amount of space they took up since I was growing them in containers. Perhaps in the future I can grow strawberries under the blackberry bushes for some "free" real estate?
Wow
What are your long term goals? Do you plane on putting these in the ground? What is your zone?
I'm near Dallas, Texas, so zone 8b (or 8a on the 90's map). My long-term goals are to identify which varieties taste the best to me and grow the best in my area (i.e. don't die in the 105+ degree heat, and have berries that don't scorch in the sun), and then plant them in-ground along the fenceline. Also considering some kind of raised bed along the middle of the back yard with more, but also afraid it would make containing the spread even harder so I'm trying to think of ways to have a raised bed while preventing them from escaping out the bottom of it
update2: August 20th - a bunch of the raspberries completely died
VMP worth it? I'm still on the 2.8 pulley, stock Eaton. Thinking about making the jump.
it's hard for me to answer if it's worth the dollar amount... but I went from 2.8 pulley stock eaton to VMP Gen3R with E85 and it's night and day, the car is insane now. The only real problem is traction... it's hard to use the power now!
update: they look even worse now 😬
That thing sounds nasty with that charger on it. Man, it is so tempting hearing videos like this
Amazing sounding
Yooo that's so cool. Keep it up homie!
nice bg music
piss
Used to play this on the guitar back in the day.
Nice!
I loved it
I see lots of Blooms!
btw, I think I found your channel via cppGOAP repo :) I like the style of your editor
That's a pity how GOAP performance drops with increasing amout of actions and states. Idea of GOAP is simply beautiful, I don't think Utility-based or FSM/Behavior trees can compete with it. But once again, sadly its a really heavy algo for huge amount of possible actions..
Nice collection!
Let me know if you like the flavor of PAF when you get your first harvest.
I surely will! Although I've heard from some people that first year harvests can sometimes not taste the best - but I'm hoping that doesn't happen to me!
@@MikeDawson1 First year PAF harvest was hit and miss for sure, hopefully this season they'll be sweeter.
Hehe cute! My cats rub their chins on my small paw paws and break all the new growth.
I do not have any raspberries but might have some in the future. I need to know what grows well in my area.
Very nice! What zone are you in?
8a, Dallas Texas

@@TreehouseVineyard We're actually in Plano near 75/Legacy!

An impressive collection!
Wow, some many different ones!
Great selection. Where did you find the siskiyou blackberry thats one I've veen looking to get for a long time cant find it anywhere.
Hey friend, I found that one at PlantingJustice. I too was having a hard time finding it until I came across it in stock there
Dude, that's crazy!
Hi my dear friend thanks so much for sharing your wonderful garden with us. Hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy, and Debbie always love a good garden video.
Thanks for watching Grandma Sandy! Are you and Debbie growing anything?
How much did it cost to get all of those? That's really interesting.
I'm honestly afraid of adding it all up, so I just choose not to think about it 😆
Wow that's quite a selection I can't wait to see what you do with it all ❤
Looks nice. Considering how hot it’s been, they’re holding up great, especially since they are in smaller containers. 👍🏻😊
this has been a very productive and fruitful video.
gravity is too high, causing the objects to move too fast to detect collision. lower the gravity. assuming you still have this problem 4 yrs later
if I remember correctly it was set to -9.8 m/s/s, but as you say that was years ago - I've since switched to PhysX :)
How have you made your wheels correctly spin with the ground? Iam having difficulty finding any btWheelInfo. Iam using its m_rotation property but doesnt seems correct.
amazing!
This is sick! Just found your channel. Seeing the progression of this project is so cool, awesome work.
I can see myself playing this, love strategy games!
Apologies for comments being disabled on previous videos, apparently setting it as "made for kids" completely disables comments!
NICE
This is coming along crazy, well done man! I'm having trouble in my own project... in getting Bullet to exclude certain rigid bodies for ray tests? If you have a moment could you give me some tips? If you have discord, I''m livin_amuk #0549
I got pretty frustrated with Bullet, to the point that I'm only using it for Raycasts now. I actually played with PhysX in another program and like that much more - it's on GitHub, you should check it out! This is how I set up the collision groups and masks: pastebin.com/tsu3dyqE and this is how I do raycasts for placing objects: pastebin.com/hgtBBcse
Awesome! Is there a source code anywhere?
Where can I find the code for this?
I haven't posted it, there are probably way better tutorials or github projects than my code for this anyway
Ok, thanks.
it's cool man!
Cool flight!!!
good effort. but have you tried to do a single tictoc in each move instead of multiple tictocs, may make it easier for you
