I play Dodonpachi Resurrection/Daifukkatsu in Steam, and I'll say this once. This is Dodonpachi Saidaioujou's OST, NOTHING MORE. If you came here from other sources, I'd encourage you to try out or watch (the gameplay of) this game if not CAVE's other Shmups like DDP Resurrection or Mushihimesama.

I’ve never seen the ZonkPunch video, just here to pay respects to one of my all time favorite shmups. CAVE used to do great things.

When you’re fighting against Inbachi, the hardest boss fight in gaming existence, the background constantly keeps changing and is based on the previous True Last Bosses. Background speeds up in phase 2. This theme fits the scenario perfectly! When the “Hihou” part plays I’m constantly reminded of the struggles of the short yet inhumanely intense Double Hibachi loop 2 fight, knowing you only have 1 life against something seemingly impossible.

I never played dodonpachi, only ever listened to the osts after hearing Saidaioujou stage 1 theme on an IWBTG fangame. I loved the melody of this stage, I would have never dreamed of there being such a beautiful rendition of it. One day I should take time to get more immersed into the series.
