My Home in Japan
Переглядів 20710 місяців тому
A short video dedicated to the family I have in Japan. I stayed in their home in Iwate, and it was nice coming back here. It was also 7 years since the last time I was here, and these cats are so much bigger than when I saw them back then. It was cozy being here in the winter, but also nostalgic being here again. Rest in Peace Jun, and thank you and Noriko-chan for letting me stay in your home....
Japan | a cinematic film

7 years later, I traveled back to Japan. This was a long-awaited 3-week trip to Japan. I visited many places such as Shinagawa, Kanazawa, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Ikebukuro, Ueno, Iwate, Asakusa, and Hiraizumi. I wanted to make a video that allows me to look back at brief moments of my trip. As I was editing, I could tell I did not shoot most of the footage as intended. It was somewh...

It's been 6 months since she passed, and for a while, I couldn't make this video or make any video on camera. But I knew I had to make a video for both her, my family, and everyone who knew her to look back on her best moments. She was the first cat that I had chosen and have known since the beginning. I know the saying is that a dog is a man's best friend, but she was mine. ♤ For Jun

Logging Off | a short film

A man stands alone as he realizes how empty the world really is without his friends. This is a film style I never thought about creating. Minecraft is a game with many possibilities, and in this case, many different ways to film and create sets without a budget. I decided to add my filmmaking experience to this game to see what I could do, and I love the end product. Big thank you to my friend ...

A documentary in which I reflect back on growing up in a multicultural household and what I have learned about self-identity. After 3 months, I present my documentary Being Blasian. This was definitely the hardest video I have made and the most work I have put into making a video so far. I hope you enjoy it. Gorgeos! A real pleasure to watch all of these wonderful scenes and artistic fotos taken from a perfect angle along with the inspiring music.

THE ORIGINAL JAPANESE ARE DARK AINU PEOPLE.
A great cinematic video of my favourite country with one of my favourite japanese music! Awesome combination, Jeremy! Love your video immensely...the colors and composition are both spot on!👍👍👍 By the way, how did you manage to get your video stretch all the way horizontally to both ends? Most of the videos have 2 vertical black bars on left and right. Thanks mate!
Thank you, I appreciate that! And to get that stretched look, I edited the video in a 12:5 (3840x1600) aspect ratio 👍
@@JustJeremyHere Appreciate your response very much! Keep up with the good work!👍🙂
i've watched some of your videos tonight and they are so good! it's making me want to get the gh6 or g9ii.
Love the shot at 4:40 !

Thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous man!! Really nice work!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
I just came across this. I can totally relate, my boys are Cambodian and black but people just assumed they're just dark skinned Indians or an islander but they're black Hebrews because of their father. God made you the way you are and you're proud of it. People will always judge. God blessed.
Nice footage, it's GH6 or G9ii ?
Thanks, this was the G9ii 👍
amazing!!! i miss japan. I love the shots + the sounds w/ the music choice.
Thank you! Yes I miss Japan as well 😭
Great shots, great film ! Thanks for sharing. Which image profile do you use ? V-Log ?
Thank you! And yes I used V-Log 👍
very cool stuff
Hello, I really enjoyed your wonderful Japanese video. Every scene was impressive and helped me understand Japan more. So I have a question. The color is so pretty, and I'm curious about how to correct the color. 1. Do you use the white balance of the camera? 2. Is it only correcting the color through the program without using the white balance of the camera? Or I wonder if there's any other way.
Thank you! To answer your questions, if you want to color correct / color grade your footage, you should manually set your white balance on the camera, or using the white balance setting that matches your scene (ex. If you’re filming in daylight, you can use the daylight white balance option on your camera. You don’t want to use auto white balance because there could be the chance that your lighting changes which will then offset your white balance. For your second question, you can use an editing program to adjust white balance from your recorded shot. However, I would not only rely on the editing program of your choice. Always best to make changes in the camera before recording. I would definitely recommend watching other white balance videos to understand more specifics.
@@JustJeremyHere thank you so much. You have been of great help to me.
So awesome, It's great to see people putting out cinematic footage with the G9ii. I think it's a wildly underrated camera.
Thank you! I agree, I was pretty surprised with the results the camera gave

Wow!! Fantastic shots. Great job on the video. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much!
Excited to get to make a cinematic video for our upcoming travel as well. So inspiring to make this type of travel video. ❤️
Thank you! I hope you have a great trip!
Thank you!@@JustJeremyHere
Sorry you lost your best friend. This really hit. My little guy passed a few years ago, they leave such a big hole. Beautiful tribute.
This is stunning. Curious about your colour grade? This is the nicest footage I’ve seen from the g9ii yet. Now I’m extra excited for the camera to arrive.
Good question. Yeah color grading was not too bad. Shot in V-log, but the base ISO when using V-log is 500. So I had to use an ND filter most of the time when it was bright so I wouldn’t have to increase my aperture. There are some areas if you look closely where you can see noise forming from that ISO. I think that was the only downside. But other than that I think the results turned out great. I used a rec.709 conversion lut, then another lut I bought and then some other adjustments to light / color curves for the final look.
@@JustJeremyHere Its a lovely workflow isn't it. I've been mucking about with the built in Filmic Kodak rec709 LUTs in DR. ua-cam.com/video/wb2U5EX9xwQ/v-deo.htmlsi=gQr5rWG2JHyywkVM Loving your colour and image. Also fantastic to see the humble 12 - 35mm F2.8 getting some love. Fantastic work !
Very similar to a video i just put out. Same thoughts about moving at a fast paced and taking more photos than video haha. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Will do!
This is one of the best cinematics of Japan that I've seen so far, I'm really surprised this hasn't blown up yet. You just earned yourself a new subscriber!
Thank you so much! Much appreciated!
I’m just thinking about the GH6 and this looks great cheers mate 👌🏼
I forgot to mention I actually shot this on the Lumix G9ii, but I have used both cameras and they definitely can achieve this same look!
Damn...this is so good!!! I'm still trying to find my style as well...I'd love to get to this level! I have another trip to Japan coming up in March so hopefully I can get some of my videos to look like this lol!
Thank you! Just took a look at your channel, you have went to so many places that i haven't even been to in Japan haha! I'll be looking forward to seeing that trip of yours!
@JustJeremyHere Awesome! Thank you for the support. It's much appreciated! This time around we will be going to a few new places, so I'd really like to try and get the cinematic look...but I think you found your style here!
The cinematography you did really did capture the beauty of Japan! Love the work here Jeremy!
Thanks man 💯
