Wall Mounting my Atomstak A5 Pro Laser Engraver on French Cleats
While I enjoy the laser engraver, it always seems to be in the way, and I typically batch things that are going to be engraved, so it's nice to be able to store it out of the way when I'm not using it. My tiny woodshop (430ish square feet) relies on organization!

Upgraded my toro 521 with a Preadator 212cc 6.5 HP engine, and added electric chute control and studded tires.
Yeah, OK. Despite this posters claims, removing the pulley from an engine shaft that’s 30+ years old, especially this one, is NOT easy! I’ve done this several times now and each one was a bitch!
Sometimes you get lucky.
And when I did the repower I broke I broke the pulley trying to get it off so I buying one on eBay. Made sure to put anti-seize on it if it ever needs to be removed.
@@robertknight4672 good stuff! I soaked mine in PB blaster overnight. Wacked it with hammer + big socket it. Then put a puller on it.
Guys who own this model or similar, could you please show how the gear box works on it? I have an opportunity to get one old 421 but it is in other town and owner said there’s only one gear works and he doesn’t know anything else coz he just gets it for free and resells. Interesting if it a big problem with those gears?

I really like your instructions. Very easy to follow. Not complicated at all. I love french cleats! its basically 90% of my shop. User friendly if you ask me. Thanks for sharing. I just bought bought me a Longer Ray5 and this set up will be a good way for storage.
I have a 1980 421 that I repowered with a 208cc briggs. You ain't kidding about the wheels. traction is BAD! sweet mods man!
It's good thing Toro came to their senses at some point and switched to pneumatic tires.

Motorizing the chute crank is definitely a different approach from what most people do. I have later model 521 it's someone had put out to the curb. Was told it had carburetor issues. When I got home I did start the engine and it started but of course it was still warm weather. I am planning on putting Predator engine on mine. It's interesting to see the subtle changes Toro made to his model over the years. Mine has levers on top of the handlebars and the chute is a little longer.
