Shearing Ram in 180 seconds & Dogs working
I really need some advice from you
Can i use a plastic drum cover inside of it????
Imperial metrics is a Nono for me.
What is the RPM of the motor?
One of the sturdiest looking pluckers I've ever seen. If you ever have issues with belt tension any common belt tensioner like for a vehicle should do the job.
you should turn the motor over to keep it dry
Pretty good
Next project- a work bench! Don’t forget to build a lid for your feeder!
Yip work table should really be a priority. I actually had one against the side of the barn but for some reason it did not work out. It was alway full of junk. But i have since then changed my habits and have one now. Will make a video.
Damn dude...build you a work table
Next project should be a workbench maybe. Do you have a drawing of what i should build?
What size pulley used an motor hp
I think its a 2hp
Hygiene left the chat
People lived in the dirt for thousands of years and besides you wash them and ice bath them afterwards and freeze them
Bought for $500, sold for $5000
Nice value-added.
Itu tanpa Gearbox kah ?
No gearbox. Just a v- belt running on pulley.
Thanks for sharing. Looks great! I’m a newbie and looking to paint my own trailer - mind sharing what paint is best?
Man you scared the heck out of me how you were spraying in the paint until you rolled it off. Whew😅
Lol yes after the first panel i thought ooo my word all that prep work and now the paint looks really bad. But once i rolled it things turned around
“Bad dogs get out in the corpse wiggler”
Do you have a more detailed video?
Will have to make a new one soon
@@homesteadfarmerdid you ever make it
Just picked up a free 2 horse trailer on marketplace. Tires were even good enough to get it home. It has some rust holes in roof. Wondering what easiest method would be to seal it up vs replacing metal. I don't actually need it for horses so might flip or trade for enclosed trailer
You still got the trailer
@@JuanRodriguez-i1i6q yea
If you have time and patient you could weld it but the sheet metal is very thin so you should be good at it. Thats why i rivitted it on my welding is big time bad
What size motor
1/3 HP
Hey, where's all the fences gone?
Removing all the wind-board fences one by one just to neaten things up. I think that it's starting to look way better but still have a lot to do to make it a nice farm. Lots of hard work ... Why am I doing this? Getting to old for all this hard work, but it makes the BOSS happy.
Would you mind listing out the tools you used?
For sanding I used a "flapper" disk in my drill to get the rust off, I also used a wire brush that you put in a drill. For spraying I used an old fence sprayer I already had. If I were to do it again I would research "sandblasting", I think it would save a lot on time, it took me a few days to sand it down.
Looking good How many finger rubber marks the chicken plucker
I bought a bag of 50 fingers for this pucker. I spaced the fingers about 2" apart.
Didn’t catch your name Sir, I will subscribe to your channel if you film on increased volume couldn’t hear you. Not chastising bro, thanks for helping an old man out man.
What are the plucking fingers made of?
Fingers are made out of rubber. Just google chicken fingers and you can find some.
Best music I’ve heard while learning how to make a pig feeder!
Yes I like the tunes also.
Very dirty paint, my friend. You have to strain paint before you try to use it in an airless sprayer. But it like old like you got it done. Congratulations, it looks good.
I was looking for a paint strainer before I did it but was not able to get one at the store and thought to myself, I'm just going to give it a go. After a while I did thin the paint somewhat and it worked out great in the end.
Top, good.
May not look the best but it worked really good in the end.
Como compraré un comedero
So many things wrong here, turn motor over so belt is on bottom, put motor on a hinged mount so you can put a tension bolt on it to tighten belt as being that loose it’ll slip the first time it has a load, use drum without all the holes, a discharge for feathers and water opposite of motor, none of these would increase cost as the parts are already there.
Wow, awesome feedback, thank you!!. It worked really well as it is; but now that you said all these things it makes perfect sense. Where were you when I was building it ?. If I have time this summer I will come back and try and make it better. Thanks again.
Ty sa natutunan ko sayo may ayuda kana pasukli God bless
Oo, Tunay na binibigyan tayo ng Diyos ng lakas upang gawin ang mga iniisip nating hindi natin kayang gawin. And when thinks work out ang masasabi namin ay thank you lord.
Did it work? Make video of it plucking, don’t leave us hanging, very interesting build.
Yes it worked like a charm. Sorry for not showing the actual plucking, did not want to offend anyone (easy to offend these days, but they still eat them tasty chickens...) It worked almost too good, plucking a chicken in 30-40 seconds, even the small hairs/feathers came off. I did have one or two hick-ups but that's on me, I let the water get to hot and then it pulled some of the skin off. Also with the bottom open all the feathers were collected in a drum-lid and it was not problem cleaning it after. So all in all a nice build that actually work, so impressed also with my pig feeder working like magic. Stay tuned this spring I'm finishing my green/hot house for planting tomatoes.
Why did u paint it without fixing them big holes like come on guy
Them big holes were fixed... they no more!! I was in a rush to get the video out but went back and patch them holes up. Also I thought it was a good idea to first paint then patch and paint again. No worries mate the rust will not come back soon.
Sandblasting would have gone much faster !
Yes, actually I was thinking to do sand-blasting, but the cost to set it up just for one trailer was to much. Wish I had one. Actually if I had a sandblaster I would do ALL my other equipment. The stuff I use is from the 40's, still work but a pain in the rear end. LOL I have a bottom plow from the 20's that I still use, I saw the same one I use in a Museum and was thinking to strip some spare-parts for mine.
Or drawings?
Nahhh, to lazy will make another video this summer and explain it all for you. And yes it worked really good, almost zero food on the ground. And it's good for 2-3 weeks with two pigs. Almost to easy.
Love the pig feeder! Do you have any dimensions?
I don't. Just build it one the fly. But this summer I need another, just because it worked so good, and I'm getting 4 pigs next year. I will make another video and try and give some dimensions. Only one thing did not work so good. Next build I have to make sure where the drum sits it's water-tight. I did get some water in when it rained and had to clean it out. Also I'm going to build a cement pad to put the feeder on. Once it gets empty they tend to push it around. Stay tuned for an updated video on that, for now it's just snow and -40C, lucky me.
well done
Well thank you. It was a lot of work but every-time is see it I think Yessssss it looks so good but not going to do it again. A lot of work, OK maybe if I'm bored I will do it again it was fun.
mutiric acid and baking soda
Yes, I did the baking soda and it helped a lot.
M
New subscriber. That's a good feeder idea
Yes, actually it worked out really good. I fill it up and it's good for four weeks or so with two pigs. The only thing I would do differently is to ensure you insulate the bottom. If and moisture gets in it clogs up the feed. So far I only happened once or twice but your don't want it to happen ever. Also when the feeder gets empty the pig will start pushing it around, will have to secure it in some way. Apart from that I really like this feeder. I also have to work on their water, I need a drum with a drain at the bottom to clean it. Next summer I will work on it. For now it's back to shovelling snow.
🤮🤮🤮
Sorry your did not like it, maybe share your feeder and we can all have a look.
I love you.
Good build
Thanks. Working with the pucker after the build also worked out good. I had not issues at all and it plucked really good. Some of the chickens got their skin ripped off, but that's not the pucker its the heat of the water when scalding. I will maybe work on a boiler next year.
Where does the feathers go
The bottom is open so I just put a tray under to collect the feathers. I do have to stop after about three chickens just to clear out the sides of the drum.
Wow! You did a GREAT job! Want to do a 3 horse slant load gooseneck trailer..? Lol
Thanks, doing another trailer maybe not!! The hardest part was saning it down, it took me 3 days just to sand all the rust off. But go ahead and do your trailer the end result is very satisfying.
What kind of paint did you use it came out awesome great job
What kind of paint did you use and what did you use to sand and fill your rust holes?
For your gate the top hinge pin should point down. That way the gate can't be pulled off.
Ok. Now why did i not think of it. Thank you i will fix it next time im out there. Wow i feel so .... now.
Those patty pans are the biggest I’ve ever seen, well done 👍🏻 😎
How big is the field you cut for hay and what do you do with it? We only need 2 big bales ( 1/3 tonne) for our sheep over winter and that goes for bedding too.
I only have about 30 acres to cut in hay. I use all the hay to feed my sheep in the winter months. I use straw for bedding.
🌼🌻🐝☀️👨🌾 I love your garden!!Its a great inspiration to me as I am also a gardener and UA-cam creator. I see you put so much work and love into growing your garden! All the hard work is worth it to get to see the new growth everyday and soon harvest! Everything taste so much better home grown doesn’t it. I have so much to learn about gardening. I appreciate your tips! Thank you for sharing! I would love to learn more about gardening from each other.
Thank you. Yes its a lot of work but mostly to get rid of the weeds.
Looking good Danie !!! For home consumption or for selling at a farmer’s market?
Not sure yet. Depending on how successful it is, first I will full up my freezers and then try and sell the rest.
There's no way you are putting all that effort in just to fill your freezer .
Now I feel really good. Hope you are right. I was hoping to just fill my freezer but if you are right I'm smiling. A few more weeks then we will see. Be sure to check the garden update video soon.
Looks like blerrie hard work, keep up the videos, we love watching how you are transforming the farm 👍🏻😎
Thanks, will do!
