Nighttime Calls
Переглядів 169Місяць тому
Not much to see here...but the sounds are striking. This series of calls was highlighted in the live stream chat is a great example of what we hear on the lake often. The echoing across the lake at 1:38 is really something! Enjoy.
LaRosa Water Quality Sampling
Переглядів 63Місяць тому
Since 2020, the Lake Fairlee Association has been collecting water samples from the Lake Fairlee tributaries. Samples are analyzed at state laboratories for phosphorous levels to help identify potential water quality issues in the watershed. Sample collection is a great way to experience the Lake Fairlee watershed and get out in the woods. It is a purely volunteer effortso if you would like to ...
New Raft Day!
Переглядів 293Місяць тому
On Tuesday, July 16, Eric Hanson from the Vermont Center for EcoStudies (vtecostudies.org/projects/lakes-ponds/common-loon-conservation) visited Lake Fairlee with a team of wildlife biologists and Lake Fairlee Association volunteers to replace our nearly 10 year old Loon raft. Jill DeVito from the Over the River and Through the Woods UA-cam channel (@OvertheRiverandThroughtheWoods) produced a w...
Chick at One Month

The chick is growing quickly and paid a visit to the looncam the other day.
Swimming with Mom
Переглядів 3422 місяці тому
This video is from a small fishing boat with a 600mm lens. It was a little tough holding it steady and in focus but it provides a nice closeup of the chick swimming alongside mom (or dad).
Dance of the Balloon
Переглядів 1632 місяці тому
This is a wonderful time lapse segment of a hot air balloon dancing across the lake this morning. Lake Fairlee is home to the Post Mills grass airfield with gliders and hot air balloons. It is surprising not to see more of them on the Loon Cam but always nice to see them crossing the lake.
Out of the Mist

A short time lapse vignette of mother and chick coming out of the mist to visit the nest and then swim away back to the nursery.
The Last Goodbye

The Loon family leaves the nest and makes its way to the nursery to raise their chick.
Thank you for the deep dive (pun intended) into this. I learned so much more about loons! And a big thank you to Doug, Sean and Eric. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Lake Fairlee, Doug, Sean, Eric! very excited to enjoy 2025!
Thank you so much Doug, Sean , Eric and the Lake Fairlee Association for posting your talk. Will see you on the 2025 loon cam 😊
The late night sounds are so awesome but if I was out on the water at that time and heard those sounds yes, I’d be a bit nervous and not too sure about being out there too. The first sound sounded like a howling wolf or animal of some sort. I do love hearing the sounds of the wild animals out in nature. I do hope the Loon family will be back go have more babies too. God bless! Sue M. Florida ❤️🥰🙏👍🏻❌⭕️
Wow! So beautiful to hear!!! 🤍🖤🤍 Thank you for posting this clip!
So glad we had the opportunity to have this video before the cam went down. It is just magnificent. @Lake Fairlee Association where is the cam? Is it gone for the season? There wasn't any heads up in chat that this was going to happen. 😭
Sorry to all. We had some malfunction and it just stopped working. I'm traveling so not able to attempt a fix but will work on it next week.
Thanks Sean! for the update. 😊@LakeFairleeAssociation
@Lake Fairlee Association This is Gail Harless. I'm writing to inquire about the loon cam that @Sean Brown and @Doug Tifft manage. It is suddenly gone with no prior warning.
Gail: I just rebooted the system but no luck so far. We are working on it! Doug
@@DouglasTifft Thanks for the update Doug.
@@DouglasTifft Good luck Douglas, hope it's a speedy recovery, and thank you! Your special place has become so very special to many of us! - 🍓🥛
@@DouglasTifftthank you Doug and Sean for the update, hope to see you up and running again soon. 🤞🏻
Love that cam ! I watch from California each morning because it reminds me of where I grew up in Connecticut as a kid. The sounds and moods of the lake are so peaceful. Hope it comes back on line soon. Thanks so much for your efforts
This is a clip I'm going to watch over & over again ❤ Hauntingly beautiful ❤ Thankyou so much Sean and Douglas ❤

Thank you! I heard a tiny wail. Baby is about half as big as mom - maybe even bigger than that. What a treat .
Thanks so much Kathy for catching this visit by the loon family yesterday and Sean for posting it. The little one is growing and changing so fast ❤
A wonderful gift for all fans of Lake Fairlee and its Loon family Thanks for sharing this video 😊❤
I think I saw this LIVE - and thot it was a duck. Lil Guy is swimming alone???! WOW. Whole family was seen August 11
The adults were just off camera to the right so not far. We've seen the family all around the lake lately. Hard to believe it's grown so quickly.
You are in the north part of the lake l think . We use yo canoe there from Beenadeewin. I always thought the older white house behind you would be a Great Lake house . I’m here for memories. But the loons are great too .
Great to have you. We love the view!
Thank you! Will be back next year!
