The Dutch call it a Knoop: a timed pulse where many vehicles are at the same station simultaneously, allowing passengers to change vehicles. Here's one I'm particularly proud of, from a Japan-themed private multiplayer game.

Those are IC3 and IR4 trains, available in the Danish Trains NewGRF.

As a long time Simutrans player I love that you added passengers to industries. I like the interactions with towns that your grf creates. When it comes to waste I'd rather see recycled plastic, paper and steel instead of generic recycled waste. Keep on going with it.
This video shows the original ITI, currently available as "ITI Classic". I've actually completely rewritten it, with new production mechanics and split recycled cargos to exactly what you describe. The new version is available in-game as Improved Town Industries. I wrote a README with more information on its GitHub page: github.com/2talltyler/improved_town_industries

Sure! There are a lot, but in chronological order: 0:18 to 0:32 - City Stations - Iron Horse - SHARK 0:40 to 0:48 - Timberwolf's Road Vehicles - Timberwolf's Roads 0:48 to 0:57 - FIRS Industry Replacement Set - Iron Horse - Road Hog 0:57 to 1:00 - Rocket Gronk! 1:00 onwards - Danish Trains - Dutch Stations - UKRS (I think, it's just the freight wagons)
I tried to play this game but really just didn't get it, but I appreciate how cool it is nonetheless.
Try a really small map. And play only with trucks and buses. You will get it. It is basically moves goods/passengers from a to b.
Watch a tutorial video and only do trains
