Personal interview with Jeroen Schuphof
In this first personal interview, we talk with Jeroen Schuphof, production manager at Til-Aqua International. Jeroen has extensive experience working in the aquaculture industry and is, besides his current job at Til-Aqua International, chairman of the Dutch Association for Aquaculture (Nederlands Genootschap voor Aquacultuur). In this interview, Jeroen tells us about his background, education, experiences, and plans for the future. Moreover, Jeroen gives us his view of the Dutch market for locally produced aquaculture products and his perspective on future developments of the global aquaculture industry.

Hi nice hatchery setup... how do you prevent fish egg fungus
Do you medicate fish in a separate set-up? Because sanitizer and antibiotics can kill the nitrifying bacteria.
I have an issue with the tilapia colony I received. Ebay gonfigure lol. They spawn regularly but the fry once out of the tumbler are belly sliding. Some swim but in about 10 days they all end up on the bottom of the tank and die. This happens every time. Is there a chance it is genetic? I use rain water, the breeder and fry tanks are 80°, 8 PH, no ammonia, nitrates or nitrites... any input would be helpful. Thank you.

How do you tell that a male will develop to a female? Is it visible or through lab practices?
The male ratio of the offspring can be determined in the laboratory.
