Absolutely disappointing! The old town is unmatched in ugliness and architectural dullness and desolation. The reconstruction after the war is a singular urban disaster. Cities in Europe like Barcelona, Seville, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Strasbourg show how wonderful old towns can look.
A very old tradition. As I understand they dont go out to the sea to hunt them actually. They only catch the ones that come to their fjords wich is less than a fraction of the total population. Its sustainable for them.

People want to accept this for culture. You can look all over the word and see culture that have been left behind or need to be for obvious reasons. This is one of them.
Todays problem is not cultures like the one these islanders prefer, but "modern" traditions It is modern traditions that enslave animals, breed them in ways that both put a huge negative strain on both animals and nature and transport them in ways that pollutes and kills bio diversity The islanders on the other hand prefer the older tradition where animals are not enslaved and killed for money but roam around free in nature, only take what nature has proven to withstand and leave the rest alone to roam in nature where most will die of natural causes. The sustaianble few amounts of food the islanders take out of the system is food that is shared equally and freely among the locals. Our "modern" way of living and killing animals for money is well documented to be the worst for nature and animals

Look at the fireworks, about the people who complains about things such as "animal abuse" but didn't really do anything in the real life other than complain in the internet to make themselves feel good, thinking like they did something. my opinion? I think this quite brutal yes, but it's just way of life they just put themselves as the part of the ecosystem instead of trying to control or ruled the ecosystem like how we use "fish farm" in order to reduced overfishing even tho it does only a little bit to quell that problem, why? well becouse people will always think "the wild ones better" and besides fish farm also give invasive species run wild into a certain ecosystem and they can't control it everytime destroying even more species at once a lot more rather than what this video shows
