In this video it's taking place after the overhaul fight (He's in fighting overhaul but on the other side), he helps Midoriya fight him but gets very injured during the fight (Broken arm, wrist, head injury, broken ribs,ect.)
He's not having a good time as he's thinking back to his past, Toga is trying to comfort him as best as she can. Their relationship is complicated in this au, they interact more then they did in canon (which is none) they don't hate each other.
Tokoyami did dislike her at first as her love with blood disturbed him and her craziness and infutation she expresses towards both Midoriya and Uraraka made him feel disgust.
Toga knew about his distaste with how she loves blood and teases him about tasting his blood as he reminds him of the birds she sucked blood of from. That didn't help with his and Dark shadows distaste of being near her. (Not like he'll be near her a lot, he's near Shigaraki, Kurogiri, Twice, or Spinner more then every one else.) but he slowly starts getting comfortable around her and starts to understand her more.
To make it simple their relationship can be described as frienemies. It's basically what it is but they don't have a label for it since their relationship is more complex and putting it in a box only simplifies their feelings towards each other.
Toga asks him a question that made him think of dark time in his life, one before meeting Shigaraki, one where he was living in the streets for a year now.
He wasn't doing well, he didn't want to go back to the orphanage so he decided to stay in the streets. He was barley scraping by, if he didn't have Dark shadow he would've been dead.
He was attacked and he accidentally killed the victim, he wanted to knock him out not kill them. Then He saw the guy bleed, his skin was out from tore that dark shadow did, his stomping was growling with hunger.
He blanked out.
The taste of raw flesh in his mouth was something he disliked the moment he returned. The dismembered arm of the man in he killed in his hands, shaking he continued to eat now that he was now paying attention to his actions.
His hunger was satiated.
Man this au is edgy as hell.
