I am a Wildlife Photographer from the UK, but I am currently working as a photo guide in Kenya. I will be posting videos of me taking pictures and showing you what I do when on safari.
Collaring Kito, The Marsh Pride lion
After spending 5 hours trying to find the lions, we finally did. It was a surreal day, I have spent many hours around Kito, but I had never been that close.
This is all in the name of Conservation. The Marsh Prides territory is shrinking. Human wildlife conflict cases have become more frequent in recent times. By having a collar within the pride you are able to track their movements, warning people of their presence before anything bad happens.
Big thanks to the Mara Predator Conservation Program for allowing me to be apart of this special moment.

Lion Tracking - WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY ON SAFARI

In this video I track down lions, but in a different way. I am in Northern Kenya on Mugie Conservancy looking for lions with radio collars. By tracking lions with collars you pick up on their signal and follow the beeps. It was a very fun and novel way to find Lions.
Epic Whale Watching - WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY

I spent the day with over 10 feeding Humpback Whales in British Columbia, Canada. A pod of Orca also made an appearance. What a day. Camera - Z9 Z7ii Lenses - 300mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8, 1.4 x teleconverter Video - Fuji XT4 10-24mm f/4 Sailcone lodge - grizzlybearwatching.com

I happened to choose the windiest day of the season to make this video, but it was worth it. High winds and fuzzy bears are what to expect in this video. Sailcone lodge - grizzlybearwatching.com

In this video I document something I have never seen lions do before, along with a tense moment between the Lions and a Thompson Gazelle.
A Morning With Giants - WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY ON SAFARI
Переглядів 7 тис.Рік тому
I had an incredible morning with some of the largest animals on the planet. I like to tell people when on safari to look for the smaller things, but sometimes you can't help but photograph the giants. Lions, Elephants and Giraffes are some of the animals I spend time with in the video. I also use all of my lenses and explain why
Camping with Grizzly Bears - WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY VLOG

I spent 3 days camping in the Canadian Wilderness hoping to photograph a grizzly bear fishing for salmon. It took me a long time one but I finally did, and it was amazing. I saw so many other wonderful sights from Salmon jumping up waterfalls, to Bald Eagles looking for a meal. Making this video was a lot of fun and I hope to make more like this later in the year.

Time for something completely different. I am now in British Columbia, Canada. I am working as a Grizzly Bear and Whale guide for a small lodge called Sailcone. In this video I film our day whale watching. To my shock I see something I never imagined, a melanistic or white Orca calf. Not every plan in wildlife photography works out. In this video I use various focal lengths to create diversity in a collection of images from the same subject. I had an idea for a photo but the light never happened. I have a lovely sighting with an unlikely subject. Are the videos handheld or are they with any kind of support? Great video
Great video, thank you for this feedback. I'm going on safari in Kenya soon and I have the choice to take my 24 70 and a 70 200 OR 200 400? I am very hesitant if you could advise me so as not to regret this trip THANKS
Funny the phenomenal migration is in Africa but many Africana can't afford to see it live.
These tips are great!
Hi Felix. Which tour company did you go with? How safe is it with those open safari vehicles
What time of year was this shot? Looks like a great time to be there.
Hi I am new to this channel thanks for the tips I am a nikon shooter currently my longest lens is the nikonz 100-400 I also have a 70-200 do you think this is good enough for safari or should I pick up the nikonz 180-600mm and combine it with the 70-200 as a kit with my z9 and z8 thanks we are heading to the Serengeti September. 2025
that one giraffe just standing there with all his buddies, staring you down was amazing
going to Tanzania next week, soaking up all I can on photography on UA-cam… I really like your videos, and love listening to your soothing voice when you speak. Thanks!
beautiful photos!
Hi, what AF settings did you use?
what was the music clip that was used in the beginning of the video, its amazing, i know but forgot the name?
I'm going to Alaska soon and was wondering if my 24-200 and 180-600 are enough...I will also use on my Z8 and Z9. Would 24-70 & 70-200 f2.8 be a better choice?
what was safari providers name? I really couldn't see the name off the car door besides it being from Kenya. what is their contact?
❤ u are amazing photographer 🙏🙏
😮 wow
Fantastic attempt like always Felix. Appreciate if you'd like to create a tutorial video on processing photos ..esp the giraffe's with black cloud background
"Does this collar make my butt look big"? Great video. I photographed 15 Grizzlies last month in Yellowstone. 3 of them were wearing collars. I would be very interested in a video showing how the collars on wildlife has proven themselves to be invaluable to their conservation.
Thanks Felix - it's very interesting to see how they go about this. It was also interesting to see the reversing of the sedative, and can't help but wonder what she's thinking about this thing around her neck.
Different but very interesting video Felix!
Its been a while so it's really great to see you back Felix and with a really interesting video, thanks for sharing 👍
You can ruin a stunning image with a single autograph.
White ppl are strange
Hi, Felix. superb videos and narration, excellent images shown at the conclusion of the video, on a technical note You use mainly one shot mode, I assume as you are photographing static subjects that is enough.most other wildlife photographers use multi speed exposure, I would appreciate your comments
Loved the PIE acronym ... super helpful ! Definitely something i will use 22/7 :P
Beautiful, pin sharp images. Well done. Henry
where are you ? and what safari company are you with ?
Amazing stuff
what speed do you shoot with the slomo ?
did you pull the still from the video ?
how do you get truck to yourself ? where do you stay ?
You seem to always use the 300mm f2.8,do you sometimes feel a longer focal length would be better or 300mm is absolutely fine?
So how'd you get selected for this Kenya job? Excellent video. Keep them coming. (I know this video is 3 years old).
Great photographs!
Meu sonho ser um fotógrafo de vida selvagem
What does this even mean? Each day brings a new set of challenges and new lighting conditions. These settings mean nothing. Crazy.
i did it 2019 amazing experiance
Good hints. Thanks
it just cought me off gaurd
Fantastic photos!!! especially the lion and the elephant
Wonderful videos, Felix! Your photos literally took my breath away. As I prepare to go back on safari I am interested to learn more about how you shoot out of the vehicle. When you are hanging over the side do you use the back screen turned up towards you? I always shoot with the EVF but am not sure how you manage to hang vertically and shoot horizontally ;-) I recently purchased a radio wireless remote after I read about someone who uses a monopod hanging out of the vehicle. I can't wait to go back and "hangout" (literally!) with the incredible wildlife in the Masai Mara!
Fantastic video!
I’m going to Governor Camp in June! Amazing vlog
Great videos as usual what camp are you staying at? Does it allow off roading?
Another fabulous video. Really want to go back!
Another great video. I got back from Kenya last week and being a very, very amateur photographer was keen to learn as much as possible before going. I watched pretty much all of your videos and learnt loads so thanks very much. Even more envious of your job now than before I went. Incredible place. Will be watching them as they keep coming to relive the experience. Thanks!
Loved the video Felix this was epic, stunning images as always !
Thank you so much I'm glad you enjoyed it!
What’s your set up for the videos of the lions and buffalo? Are you using the 300 or 70-200? Do you also add ND while filming? And take it off for photos?
Great concise photography wisdom. I subscribed and look forward to learning more that helps me experience my own photography better. Flying to Tanzania in a week.
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your trip
great tips!
