At the end of the day, the way YOU view the show reflects how YOU feel. If you feel offended about the show, then that’s ok and that’s valid. If you’re not offended but you feel that you relate to it, then that’s also ok and valid. It’s a piece of art made for entertainment so everyone is entitled to interpret it however they want. But keep in mind, Ranma was created without the gender identity conversation in mind, it’s common now but the manga and the anime have been around for decades and it was created in Japan, so the norms and culture at the time and place are probably very different from our own today.
