Picking up a brand new 2022 Cayman GTS 4.0 Thanks for watching- hope you enjoy the video- if so, please leave a like or subscribe- there will be more to come, of course, with driving
I hope it’s not a cylinder issue. That ticking is odd . I Hope Daniel give us update after two years of ownership
Curious , I just bought a 69 plate but I find the clutch pedal really hard or Overly springy . Can I ask what you thought about the clutch
The clutch pedal is a bit hard with a small window, but so was the one on the old Fiesta ST I had- which model/make are you comparing it too?
@@theenglishdaniel4379 Mk3.5 Focus ST Was a little firmer than a standard focus to be expected . But this one on my Mk4 is a Foot buster. Get caught in Slow traffic and you’ll know with an aching arch or tenderised Achilles. As it happens I went to look at 2 69 plate today. One was a little springier than the other but both nothing like mine .
Does it still have guarantee? You could have Ford check it- maybe it’s been wrongly adjusted
Just beautiful but cringed at the removal of the car cover, hopefully didn’t swirl the clearcoat
Woe Amazing car!!! Porsche 718 in Black color is the most beautiful
That thing is beautiful, i would take the manual though!
I broke in my GTS 4.0 and got 400 miles on one tank 15 gallons. But can get 30mpg on freeway and about 23 mpg during spirited driving.
Just so you know - I was here 😏
Love the subtly.
How are you finding the car? Enjoying it?
It is very much enjoyable, thanks Jonny. I must admit that it was slightly funny when just starting the engine set off the alarm of a BMW 5 series on the other side of a car park the other day. I think that answers a lot of people‘s questions on whether the exhaust is loud enough :)
Thanks for the videos. Super98 in Germany looks to be Super93 in most of the US. From the conversion rate on google it seems you're getting 29.77 mpg which is surprisingly good.
Hello thank you for this video and consumption info. very useful info for people like me, who are thinking to buy the GTS4.0 Good to hear that this engine has low average during normal driving. Pls continue to post yr experience with yr new car. I subscribed to yr channel. question: believe you are from Germany ? If yes, the car has the exhaust filter. What is yr opinion on the engine sound ? I hear that some are disappointed ? Rgs from Belgium
Hi Cayman 981, yes- I live in Germany- I personally am happy with the exhaust sound and probably won’t spend the 3 grand or so on a system with smaller or no backboxes. I‘d need to hear the latter live (ie. not just on video) to really judge the difference. The GT4 RS sounds better/more raw in my view, but it does also cost nearly twice as much and also has the GT3 engine, which revs ~1k higher
@@theenglishdaniel4379 thanks for yr opinion reading often that many install a tool to have the exhaust valves also open on low revs do you consider?
I wouldn’t consider this- I don’t tend towards software flashing, though have never done it. More likely to do something like that on my Ford first, if at all. I would like to hear the Akrapovic exhaust unit for the 718 GTS 4.0 live- maybe someone reading this has it. Belgium is not far away- do you know of any Cayman/718 meet ups in the region?
@@theenglishdaniel4379 I had same problem with my Cayman981 on which I wanted to install Akrapovic also…. Could not find any dealer to hear it on a car …
Which year is your car from? Do you have the 2.5 litre?
Simply turn off the auto stop/start on the centre console and the cylinder deactivation will turn off with it.
The cylinder deactivation is only present when driving in normal mode right? When in Sport or Sport+, this feature is disabled in my opinion.
I believe you’re right, Wizz Pet
Wow they actually have stock in Germany, at my dealer in the states the parking lot is mostly empty and there are about 5 cars inside. I wanted to look at the interior of a Cayenne and they didn't even have one.
What´s the waiting time?
That will depend on when you order(ed) - I ordered in October last year and took delivery in February this year
Did you leave the suspension height as standard or opt for the 10mm lift?
This is without the lift
@@theenglishdaniel4379 thanks mate. So, no complaints about constant scrapping the front on speedbumps/driveways?
Depends on the height of the bumps- luckily not yet. I know a couple I certainly wouldn’t risk it on, but otherwise it’s the 911 /-Turbo /-S that usually has this issue, hence the front lift being configurable there
Daily with manual, automatic for the weekend, original choice. 😁👍
Very nice spec. 👍 Could you control the weight ? Harry's garage had a Boxster gts with 1280 kilos, Porsche claims it way more...
I haven’t put it on the scales yet, but they’re usually about 1.4 tonnes- registration papers say 1510kg when empty, so a little bit more than advertised
Really enjoyed the early morning scenery! It would be good to see some of the roads with exhaust sound if you get a chance
Hello, did you have any buying history with Porsche before you ordered the GTS 4.0?
Hi Matthew, no I didn’t- I went and did a test drive in March 2021, then waited a while, and the quota for 2021 was full in October, I believe. So I took one of the first in the 2022 quota, ordering within the month
Love that Targa too, they revisited that concept beautifully.
Absolutely fantastic car. It seems extremely well specced, but nevertheless you obviously didn't go for the two-zone automatic climate control. Doesn't that mean you always have to keep readjusting the air conditioning manually in order to get a constant temperature inside while driving? The reason I ask this is because I'm configuring a base 2.0 Cayman for myself and I'm struggling with this option.
Hi Michael, you might be right there- it doesn’t really bother me, but it does need more adjusting than the auto climate control in the Ford. What else have you configured on your Cayman?
@@theenglishdaniel4379 As it's gonna be my daily driver, PDK is a must-have, also the parking assistant and 20 inch wheels. But much more doesn't make sense on the base model. I would always prefer a naked 4.0 liter naturally aspirated model over a fully equipped 2.0 turbo.
Stunning car in a nice spec. Very tasteful. Also like that went for the model designation delete.
Love it being called "Wind Screen Water" vs the Americanized "washer fluid"
I ordered a 2022 ST X today :) cant wait!
Nice :) That has the new big SYNC screen, doesn’t it- I think the X generally has more kit than mine
How long did you have to wait from order to taking the delivery?
4 months
@@theenglishdaniel4379 Wow. That's super quick! I was told to wait for 12-16 months for mine. I'm only 4 mo in now... I'm so envious lol
Congrats! 👏🏻 I just got the same car in an S model. The GTS must be a rocket!
Thanks :) It is indeed, but I need to wait til it’s fully run in before doing proper launches and full throttle. How did you configure yours?
@@theenglishdaniel4379 I got the same color combo, but went with the Carrera wheel painted gloss black. PDK, premium package, Nav, and memory seat with 14 way power seats. I wanted to get the PASM, but pricing was getting a bit out of control, which I’m sure you can relate to. LOL
@@theenglishdaniel4379 Nice car. I have a Shark Blue/Espresso Cayman GTS 4.0. This is my second Cayman, I owned the first one for 11 years and drove 130.000 miles in it. That 987 Cayman S PDK sounded much more raw than my current car.
Stunning car and spec dude, enjoy!
Great car. 18mth wait (or so) in UK. What options did you go with? Wheel colour, LED lights? Why PDK over manual? Looks a great car..
Thanks Jonny- PDK for enjoyment/luxury, as I always drive manual otherwise. And because it can sound good when you do a couple of downshifts with the paddles. 18 months is a while- what region are you in? Wheel colour is platinum and other options are reversing camera, heated seats, GT steering wheel, overall model name delete
Congrats! Still waiting for my allocation - been 3 months but feels like a year already.
Great car no doubt but Black is impossible to keep clean.
I Like them all but the GT3 Touring for me.
Congratz, lovely Cayman ;)
Car envy 4sure!!
Do you wish you had the 2 zone klima? I didn't spec it but I can still change my spec. Didn't think it was necessary. Also the Bose I didn't spec. Mine will be the Boxster. I specced - Navi, heated seats, heated wheel, cooling seats, metallic paint, regensensor, Alu interior trim, lane change assist, wheels in silver, manual box.
Hi Marc S, I’m not sure the dual zone would make a great difference, with the cabin being the size it is- especially when you already have cooled and heated seats. With the PDK configured on mine, I wanted to add a real lane change/assist system- this is not available on the Cayman though- only lane change warning light/tone in the mirror area, and adaptive cruise control- I should have ordered the latter. I personally wouldn’t want that lane change warning light every time someone drives by. When is yours planned for production, and what colour have you ordered? I think the silver wheels can look really good- they are also less sensitive to curbing
Very nice sir. Enjoy and be safe from the US!
Lucky man, sound is amazing,it has to be,it must be loud., I love it ! Happy and safe driving,I wish I can manage my economy to get one like this. Good luck on the road !
Very nice video. congratulations on A beautiful car.
Nice car! Would take the gts yellow though :)
Nice spec, Congrats. How long did it take from the moment you order until the delivery?
Thanks Aymen :) It took 4 months
hi what is average fuel consumption from the 4.0 engine ? Rgs
I’ll be honest: I haven’t checked that yet- will get back to you with the info asap
For me it's roughly 13-14l per 100km in sport (+) mode, including the occasional fun part. In a more restrained manner, less than 11l should easily be possible in normal mode, though.
@@hotte7595 not bad for a 4.0 thanks
Hey Daniel, nice spec! I got mine about 10 months ago. Question: any issues with squeaking brakes already? It's the thing that annoys me most about the car...
Hi hotte75, Thanks :) Was considering shark blue but not sure how long that would have stayed novelty. The brakes only squeak when edging forward, ie. when only lightly on them. Do you mean that?
@@theenglishdaniel4379 Yes, right. However, it's getting worse by the day. It's pretty annoying to be laughed at when having to stop at some traffic lights, for instance... Hopefully, you will be spared!
@@hotte7595 Often there is a film on your rotors, perhaps some polish of some sort. Wipe them with brake cleaner, then go give it several hard stops. There are several other potential causes of squeaky brakes, none of which should apply to a brand new Porsche... uncool
@@hotte7595 i did a 200kmh-0 stop in my cayenne gts and the squeak disappeard😅😅
@@hotte7595 You have to get them hot at least once in a while. Then it get's better. When the car stands in the garage for a couple of days it starts all over again. It's only when you perform light braking. Brakes in the 991.2 GT3 RS are still squeaking even after 4 1/2 years now when I "want them to". And for the people who laugh at you - it's because racecar. Don't worry about such things.
Absolutely beautiful…..enjoy in good health Daniel!
Beautiful spec! Congratulations
Great video and very nice Cayman! Congratulations and welcome to UA-cam. 😎
Nice car!
Congrats! Looks amazing
lovely car Daniel , I have a boxter 4.0 on order since August , can't wait !!
Thanks Marvin- which region did you order in?
