Has it ever been confirmed that there are White Park genetics. The white with black tips is characteristic White Park. There are herds of White Park in Canada. I have heard that the original sire was white with black tips and is described as having the White Park colouring.

Interesting video. I work on a farm in MN, USA raising ~1000 ewes and we band one testicle hoping he won’t be fertile. I’ve always thought they were for sure fertile but maybe I’m wrong. Anyone you know do this method?

Thank you for this, as we just had lots of wind over the last two days here in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia and our sheep are hunting under the oak trees this morning. Some hotwire will probably go up this afternoon. Thirty-six years without a problem under those massive fifty-year old trees as we generally have squirrels. A tree that we have worried about is the Black Walnut as we had an ox paddock rimmed by several of those. We watched for injestion of leaves but the cattle didn't touch them. Worried a little about rubbing on the trunks but the only result we saw was that the flies and mosquitoes avoided the necks where the cattle had rubbed. Those nuts are fairly big and can be sticky with a thick smelly green covering, and though the squirrels in past have generally gotten them after the covering dries up, nothing else on the farm eats them. We didn't anticipate the oak acorn problem. Appreciate the information, advice and cautions that we will follow today.

Do I understand correctly? .. I am attempting to get a calf without horns through selective breeding by AI our pure Jersey heifer (horned) to a homozygous bull.The calf will be without horns, correct? But will the calf have a gene for future calf with possible horns still? If so, then once again breeding that calf once matured with another Homozygous, is the horned gene then bred out? As in, does it take 2 generations to breed out horns?
