Here’s the story of how it all began: the continued collaboration between Youngren Construction and Homes For Our Troops.
Back in 2010, Scott Youngren received a call to bid on a new home construction project. He and his team began the bid process, not knowing the full story of who they were building for. Once he met Army Sergeant First Class Jacque Keeslar, a double amputee, he realized the full story of who the home was for and the full purpose of all the special adaptations.
Over the months it took to build Jacque’s new home, Scott, his family, and team met other Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) team members, past home recipients, and got to know them all. Once the home was presented to SFC Keeslar, Scott and the Youngren Construction team were fully dedicated to building as many of these specially adapted custom homes as possible.
And the journey continued from there.
Now, after 14 years of collaboration, Youngren Construction has completed 39 homes in Southern California for Homes For Our Troops Veteran recipients. We have also been honored as a “Builder of Distinction” by HFOT leadership for our continued professionalism and dedication to the HFOT Mission.
