    I never knew you’re supposed to use a double ply of floss for sequins! 😮 maybe that’s why my sequins sometimes are loose/wobbly. 🤦‍♂️

    I'm about to start a lighted stocking. I plan to use a crafter blade (picture frame mat blade) and cutting board to get an easy, precise cut. My question is how to line stocking with battery box/on off switch accessible! Make a felt pocket on back of stocking? Don't want box to cause stocking to hang wrong because of weight. May be best to just leave it out and free, place on mantle? Open to suggestions!! Thank you!! EDIT: I spoke too soon..SMART placement of pocket!! Thank you!!

    • @servantcrafts
      @servantcrafts 4 місяці тому

      No worries! Your ideas would also work. I think the kit says to let it live in the toe of the stocking, However I think it is most important to line a stocking with these lights so they don't get disturbed. I think you idea of cutting with a crafter blade is a great and wonderful idea. I will remember that the next time I make one with lights.

    I love watching your videos and I say the longer the better. I don't need the top tips and information now but I find your videos so relaxing. I really like your company whilst I sew. I've watched one of the videos where you start one of the kits many times. You mention getting your scissors sharpened at Joanne's and your big tubs for beads are years old that you can't remember where you got them from. Even though I know you'll say this, I still like to watch whilst I sew. I especially like videos where your cat visits or you talk about your family or your faith.

    Love your videos. I’d say the longer the better, step by step would be super helpful to many. If I could make a suggestion, please iron your felt before starting. The creases will never come out, and the finished stocking will look so much better without them.

      @@servantcrafts I was afraid of that too. I use a thin tea-towel over the top of the felt and place the ink face down on the ironing board. It comes out great on setting 3 or 4 for me- it does take a few passes. Thanks again for your videos. I love having them on while I work on a project.

    Pilling is very common with acrylic yarns, & most of the anti-pillers need to be laid flat & air dried. I'm currently using Lion Brand Basic Stich anti-pilling yarn to crochet a baby blanket, & it can be dryer dried, which is unusual. I hope it lives up to its expectations. Caron Simply Soft is a pretty looking yarn, but it is a hugh piller after washing. I am gravitating towards using only cotton yarn for baby blankets because it is natural. Yarn is a broad topic but just like anything else you get what you pay for. Cotton is a win, espec

    I really recommend ironing out the creases in the felt prior to adding the beads and sequins. Don't put a hot iron directly on the felt, use a piece of fabric to protect it otherwise it might melt.

    • @servantcrafts
      @servantcrafts 9 місяців тому

      Yes, this is helpful and you MUST be very careful not to disturb the paint lines. But, I rarely do this step and by the time you are finished with all the stuffing and layers of stitching, the creases are gone.

    Hello ma’am for flower bouquets which yarn is more preferred??

    • @servantcrafts

    I want to make crochet hand bag as a beginner.which one i choose -cotton or acrylic?

    • @servantcrafts
      @servantcrafts 10 місяців тому

      I would chose a mercerized cotton because it will not pill with use. But a 100% cotton yarn can be hard on your hands to work with, especially for a beginner. Mercerized cotton is 100% cotton but treated to be very smooth and is much easier to work with. A cotton & acrylic or other fiber blend may also a nice option. For a first project, make sure that you love the yarn you choose. This will make if more enjoyable to work on and learn. Let me know what you choose.
