A couple years ago, my husband and I hired someone to remove the moss from our roof, and paint the eves of our house, so the insurance company would not drop us and cause the bank to foreclose on our house. I made the mistake of paying the man before he started working, and while working on another client's roof, he fell and injured himself. After he got better, he texted that he would come and work on our roof. I told him of the deadline the insurance company told us, and he reassured me that he would get it done, but needed to get better tools. I reminded him that I already paid him to work on our roof and that I was beginning to lose faith in him. He said not to worry, because he was coming. But he never did. After that he stopped responding to my texts and phone calls. Finally, I decided to let it go, hire someone else, and texted him that I forgave him for not being able to work on my roof, and mentioned in my text that Jesus loves him and that he should forgive himself and not worry about paying me back. This time I hired a licensed contractor, but was too afraid to ask the price. I had to wait after he was finished to see what he would charge. By the LORD's divine mercy, the man decided not to charge us, because Jesus told him not to. So I bought him a Subway gift card which he appreciated. God is good!
